Leslie Lane Obituary

Leslie David Lane, 71, of Austinburg passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, April 20, 2023. He was born September 4, 1951 in Los Angeles, California, the son of the late Levi and Ruth (Jacobs) Lane. Les graduated from Ashtabula High School class of 1970. Les was a jack of all trades, he was a machinist by trade, and had taught at the VOED and also was self employed as an auto part dealer. Les was a Austinburg Volunteer Fireman for many years. Les was Austinburg's handyman, anytime someone need something fixed or made they looked to Les for help. Les was meticulous about his yard and enjoyed tinkering around his property. He enjoyed drag racing but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren. They were his purpose in life and what kept him going every day. Mr. Lane is survived by his sons, Brad (Brandi) Lane of Hudson and Jeff (Krystina) Lane of Madison; brother, George (Patricia) Lane; sister, Bonnie Lane-Ashley-Mendrala; and his granddaughters he loved dearly, Kaylee and Eleanor. He was preceded in death by his parents. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 2-4PM at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd. , Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Austinburg First United church, 2870 OH-307, Austinburg, Ohio 44010.
