Leonard L. Schultz, 85, of Toledo, passed away at his home surrounded by family and friends on September 9, 2023. Leonard was born March 14, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Macomber High School in 1958. After High School he became a proud Untied States Marine. A proud service he frequently shared memories of. Leonard worked for B & F Medical for over 30 years and was actually the last person to close the plant that would be the new home of the proposed Jeep complex. He was active in Boy Scouts of America for 35 years and served several years as Scout Master at Glenwood Luther. Highlights of his scouting career included a trip to Philmont and several National Scout Jamborees. He loved taking his scouts on Camp Alaska's. He was proud to have his sons, Thomas and Robert Schultz and stepsons, Patrick and Timothy Dugan as his scouts. Len also loved and enjoyed Green Bay Packer's Football. His skills at building and fixing were known to and appreciated by many. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Ann Schultz; brothers, Donny and Jack Schultz; sisters, Margaret and Caroljean; and stepdaughter, Kelly Dugan. Len is survived by his wife, Carol, of almost 40 years; sons, Thomas (Beth) Schultz, Robert (Nancy) Schultz; stepsons, Patrick (Becky) Dugan and Timothy (Tonya) Dugan; and stepdaughter, Erin (Joe) Fowler. Len loved his 8 grandchildren, Courtney (Rick) Hathaway, Joshua (Sara) Schultz, Nate Schultz and Blaine Randall Schultz; step grandchildren, Ava Fowler, Dugan Fowler and Chelsea and Savannah Dugan. Len loved his 8 great grandchildren, Makenna, Liam, Avrik, Allie, Harper, Aubrie, Reece and Adler. Leonard was blessed with many very special cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Charlotte Bowlus, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, advocate for children and neighbor passed away peacefully on Nov. 26th at the age of 92. She was born on October 8, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Eleanor Schaub. Charlotte was a 1949 graduate of Woodward High School. She went on to work for Lucas County Child Services as a caseworker for over 30 years due to her love for children. Nothing made her happier than to attend a successful adoption hearing placing a child in their new permanent, loving home. Charlotte had a wealth of knowledge regarding services and programs available to children and families she served. She was a member of the Citizens Review Board, volunteered at the YWCA Battered Women's Shelter, Red Cross, taught Sunday & Vacation Bible School, served on church council, volunteered at Wildwood Metro Park and at the Women Blessing Women program through Catholic Charities. In 2001 she received the Award of Excellence through the Juvenile Court Systems Citizens Review Board and in 2001/02 she received the Woman of Achievement Award. Charlotte was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Frosch in 1968. She remarried to Eugene Bowlus for 39 years until his passing in 2008. Her loving memories will be cherished by her son, Douglas Frosch (Bonnie), daughter, Shari Gorski (Jim) and stepchildren, Mike Bowlus (Susan), Greg Bowlus and Doreen Dunn. A heartfelt appreciation to Fran Oliver for her friendship and loving care to Charlotte as well as Nurse Carrie, Angela, Roshonda, Giselle, Raven, Dawn, LaToya and Cindy. Also sincere thanks to Nurse Sean and Nurse Nicole and caregiver Anthony from Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice. Church services will be held at Faith United Lutheran Church, 4543 Douglas Rd. Lynda Perlman, 76, passed away peacefully at home on November 26, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lynda was a graduate of both St. Ursula Academy and University of Toledo earning a bachelor's degree in education. She had a long and rewarding career as an Elementary School Teacher after graduating and as a Reading Specialist in her later years. Lynda had a wide range of interests outside of work. She was an active member of Junior League and a longtime member of Sylvania Country Club. She selflessly gave her time working as a Volunteer at Toledo Hospital. And she loved spending time at her winter home in Naples, Florida with close friends and family. Above all else, Lynda's greatest passion was her family. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 38 years, Philip Perlman. She is survived by her children, Kristyn and Brad Kaplan, Arika and Michael Sinnott, Scott and Elena Perlman and Jonathan Perlman; her grandchildren, Alexis and Blake Kaplan, Max and Drew Sinnott, and Ella and Henry Perlman and her grand dog, Parker Perlman. She is also survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and James Sattler. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, June and Mearl Huffman and Richard and Nancy Blase and her mother and father-in-law, Irma and Albert Perlman. "Robert Francis McCarthy, 80, died November 27, 2023, one day before his 81st birthday. He was also known as Bob, Bozo, Captain, and Commodore. Bob was born November 28, 1942 in Mercy Hospital in Toledo to Jack and Maryedna Green McCarthy. He received his elementary education at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and was a proud graduate of Libbey High School. In August of 1963 he married the late Joan Bly Johnson McCarthy. They had three children, Shannon Bly (Jon Michael) Henry, Sean Ray (Christine) McCarthy, and Erin Ellen (Corey) Keith. They were blessed with three grandchildren, Kelsey, Callaghan, and Bailey and two great grandchildren Gracie and Daisy. Bob briefly attended the University of Toledo, and then started his career in Advertising, Public Relation, and Marketing. He was Advertising Director for Epko Shoes, Inc. , and Quickprint, Inc. He also was an Advertising Agency Account Executive for Barrie Corp. , and Communications Concepts, and Public Relations Manager for the Toledo Goaldiggers. Through his career, he received numerous awards, including two Emmys for writing and producing public service television announcements for NIFTI, Neighborhood Improvement Foundation of Toledo Inc. In the early \u002790\u0027s, Bob, Sean, and Joan formed Maumee River Cruise Line and purchased the historic boat Arawanna II. At this time in his life, Bob was also hired as a Toll Collector at the Ohio Turnpike. Bob and Joan were active boaters for many years, and participated in various functions for Associated Yacht Clubs and Inter-Lake Yachting Association. He was a past Commodore of the Toledo Sailing Club. He was also past President of the Press Club of Toledo, and a past Board Member of the Advertising Club of Toledo. He entertained many with his quick wit and humor emceeing at several events throughout the Toledo area. Bob is survived by his three children, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sisters Mickey Scarborough, Penny Dannenberg, and brother Dennis McCarthy. "Desiderio Miguel Sifuentes, \u0026quot;Mike\u0026quot;, passed away peacefully at his home at Genesis Village on November 25, 2023. He was born on March 21, 1946 in Toledo to Francisco \u0026quot;Poncho\u0026quot; and Josefa \u0026quot;Pepa\u0026quot; Sifuentes. Mike graduated from Libbey High School, and proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, mostly in Guam and March Air Force Base. He retired from the City of Toledo, as a foreman for the Parks and Recreation Division. Mike loved fishing, playing Euchre, Darts and Bingo, and watching old western movies. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Mike enjoyed coaching baseball for the Colt league. He was proud of his memberships In the Latino\u0027s, 14th Ward old timers, the Whitehouse and Holland American Legions, and the Maumee Fraternal Order of the Eagles. "Tuesday, November 13, 2023, a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, Juan P. Duran was called and taken by his Guardian Angel peacefully before the presence of Almighty God. Juan was born June 27, 1940, in a small, humble community Ojo de Agua, Coahuila, Mexico to Genoveva Perez Duran. Juan was very active in the Cursillo Movement in the Diocese of Toledo, serving in numerous Cursillo weekends since November of 1984, which also included prison retreats in Milan, MI. He was preceded in death by his Mother and numerous Aunts and uncles and by all his siblings. Juan is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ramona Campos Duran; children, Aron Campos Duran, Adan Campos Duran, Christopher Angel Duran, Juan Perez Aguilar, Abel Perez Auguilar, Josue Perez Aguilar, Genoveva Perez Aguilar, Sandra Perez Aguilar, Fidelia Perez Aguilar and Yolanda Perez Aguilar, as well as, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. "Mary Katherine Fromme, 92, of Manitou Beach, Michigan, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 15, 1931, to Karl and Sophie Kassmann. Mary was a 1949 graduate of Central Catholic High School and graduated from Mary Manse College with a Bachelor of Education in 1953. Mary taught second grade at Whittier Elementary for 8 years and then moved on to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns School teaching first grade for 24 years. She retired in 1995. In her retirement years she volunteered at Addison and Onsted Michigan schools where she enjoyed telling stories to the elementary students. As the famous \u0026quot;Aunt Fanny,\u0026quot; telling stories to the little ones and writing stories for her grandchildren made her so happy. Mary and her husband Eddie were longtime members of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church and summer members of St. Mary\u0027s on the Lake Catholic Church. Mary had a wonderful past winter spending it with family in Florida. She enjoyed wheelchair strolls in the sun, the beach, trying new restaurants and painting by the pool. Mary will be remembered by her smile which could light up a room, her homemade cookies, praying \u0026quot;the beads\u0026quot; for everyone\u0027s prayer requests and her generous heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Fromme, daughter Carol Fromme, sister Theresa Maher and her parents. She is survived by her daughters Christine (Richard) Doyle and Cindy Fromme, quadruplet grandsons Matthew, Patrick, Nicholas, and Anthony Doyle. They were the pride of her life and everyone she met heard all about \u0026quot;her boys. \u0026quot; She was their biggest fan and cheerleader!
