Leonard (Lennie) L Ganbin, 86 of Fulton, Maryland, passed away on October 3, 2023 He was born on April 16, 1937, to Leonard L Ganbin and Edna I Ganbin in Cheverly, MD Lennie was a member of Triadelphia SDA Church and a Veteran of the United States Air Force He retired from the United States Postal Service He enjoyed working in his garden, flying model airplanes, going to air shows, old cars, and spending time with his family He is survived by his wife Roxann, children Brenda, Rusty, Linda, Keith, and Brian Grandchildren Shaun, Natalie, Ashley, Kayla, Wesley, Bradley, Jaida, Bryan, Brooklynn, Hadley, Cora plus 15 Great Grandchildren and his sister Terry He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and son Glenn and Grandsons Christopher and Joey Memorial Service will be held at Triadelphia SDA Church, 12950 Brighton Dam Rd Clarksville, MD 12950 at 2:00 PM In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Rising Building Fund

Marvin Scott Self, known to his loved ones as Scott, passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 75 in Randallstown, MD. He was born on May 27, 1948, in Sendai, Honshu, Japan. Scott was a kind, thoughtful, and loving individual, deeply cherished by his family and friends. Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Rori Bergere, his sister Melinda Self (Sue Heimann), his son Scott T. Self (Shannon Drury), his daughter Elissa Michalski, his daughter Kristina Morgan (Lynne Jackson), and his grandchildren Ceili Stockton (Nate), Cormac Self, Noah Michalski, Riley Michalski, Devon Michalski, Shay Jackson, and Heath Jackson. He was preceded in death by his father, Scott A. Self Jr. (Elizabeth), and his mother, Maryn W. Sampson (Robert). Scott attended Pacific Grove High School in Pacific Grove, California and later pursued higher education at the United States Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1970. At West Point, he was active on the tennis and squash teams, in the Glee Club, and Protestant Chapel Choir where he served as President in his final year. He proudly served in the Infantry and as a helicopter pilot in the United States Army from 1970 through 1977, in the U. S. and overseas. After his active-duty service, Scott extended his service to the country in the Iowa National Guard, where he continued to fly. Following his military service, Scott had a successful career as an engineer within the Aerospace industry. He also shared his passion for knowledge as a math teacher at the Chelsea School in Silver Spring, MD. In his leisure time, Scott enjoyed pursuing various hobbies such as golfing, photography, crossword puzzles, reading, and volunteering with the Job Corps. His greatest golfing accomplishment was a Hole-in-One at Prestwick Country Club in Myrtle Beach on September 9, 2019. Being a grandfather was one of his greatest joys in life. A ceremony honoring Scott's life will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ASPCA or the Wounded Warrior Project, organizations that held a special place in Scott's heart. The Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P. Daniel Lee Compton was born in Tulsa Oklahoma on December 24,1980 and adopted by Gerald and Mary Lou Compton, who raised him. He graduated from Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa before attending further studies in Criminal Justice at Cowley Community College in Arkansas City, Kansas and Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. His work experiences included ALK Abeyo - Bio Pharmaceuticals, Austin Texas, The Department of Defense and The Department of Justice in Maryland and Washington DC respectively. One of the fondest memories of Daniel is how he loved to goof around and crack jokes. He had a very infectious laugh that would lighten any person. He was a loving, caring and devoted father to Milana and uncle to many relatives, who knew him simply as Uncle Dan. Daniel will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was a great person who cared deeply for anyone he knew. He always extended a helping hand and advise however he could. Daniel was devoted to his family and was a dedicated father. Daniel is preceded in death by Gerald Compton and Debby Treptow (his biological mother), and is survived by the mother of his child Mboka Kapya Compton, daughter Milana Compton, mother Mary Lou Compton, sister Dee Dee Compton, (Biological Father) Tim Treptow; Brothers,Timothy J Treptow and Steve Treptow, as well as his aunt Deena(his dad's twin sister) and uncle Brent Byers. Mary Patricia "Pat" Ferensic, 81, of Clarksville, Maryland passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Thursday November 16, 2023. She was born in 1942 to Richard Williams and Helen Williams in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her children Greg, Denise, Diane, and Cheryl; grandchildren Vince, Nick, Paul, Gaby, David, Jackie, Jeremy, Grace, Bradley, and Christian; and sisters Linda and Cathy. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, parents Richard and Helen, and brothers Joe, Rick, Dave, and Matt. Pat was a daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend. An educated and trained registered nurse, she spent the majority of her career as head nurse of the Holy Cross Hospital emergency room in Silver Spring, Maryland. A long time, active member of St. Louis Church, Pat was very involved and served multi-year terms as president of the church garden club. She was a bible study member, a religious retreat participant, confirmation sponsor to multiple grandchildren, and for many years worked as a volunteer in the church office on a weekly basis. An avid reader, she was involved in a book club outside of church. She enjoyed multiple handcrafting activities such as sewing, cross-stitch, painting, and flower arranging just to name a few. Afflicted with severe arthritis her physical activity of choice was water aerobics. She had a true passion for gardening and became a certified master gardener. She created beauty wherever she went. A Visitation will be on Thursday November 30 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029. Joseph Patrick Doyle of Glenelg, Maryland passed away on November 1st, 2023. He was born May 4th,1943 to John Edwin Doyle and Pauline M. Doyle in Baltimore City, Maryland. He was the devoted husband of Iris Doyle (nee Young), father of Heather Doyle and Lauren Doyle Vaccari, grandfather of Bella, Dahlia, and Anya Vaccari, and father-in-law of Chris Vaccari. He was the loving uncle of Wendy Doyle, Michael Doyle, John Doyle, Patrick Doyle, and Kathy Caswell. He was preceded in death by his siblings John Doyle and Evelyn James. Joe attended Calvert Hall High School and Loyola College. He was a member of the U. S. Army. He worked as a human resources manager in banking for many years. Joseph enjoyed reading, art, landscaping, and traveling. He was known for his strong work ethic. He will always be remembered for his wisdom, sense of humor, and generosity. He will be sorely missed by a host of dear nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and very close friends. James Hunt Silvea, 91 years of age, passed away at his home surrounded by family on October 31. James was born on June 12, 1932 to the late William Silvea and Blanche Silvea (Shaw). He was the youngest of four children. James graduated from Natural Bridge High School in Natural Bridge Station, Virginia. Following graduation he served four years in the Air Force. He then married Maxine Painter and they celebrated 66 years of marriage in April of this year. They spent a few years in Danville and Woodbridge, Virginia before settling in Columbia Maryland in 1963. He worked at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Columbia and then the NSA in Ft Meade until retirement. James had a love for all sports and played many in high school and as an adult he became an avid golfer. Both James and Maxine are religious members of Christ Memorial Church in Columbia. James is survived by his wife Maxine Silvea, son Duke Silvea (Kelly), daughter Desha McNeeley (Bill), son Neal Silvea, grandchildren Blake Silvea, Brian Silvea, Ryan McNeeley (Kelsey), Morgan Soares (Andrew), ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two nephews and three nieces. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by brother, William Silvea, sisters Emma Grace Conner and Clara Lee Muhonen, and grandson Brent Whittaker. Barbara Law of Clarksville, MD passed away at her home on Friday, October 27, 2023. Barbara was born in York, PA to Norma Zeigler and Woodward Smith. She and her family lived in or near army bases during World War II and the Korean conflict before moving to Essex, MD and then settling in Loch Raven Village, Towson, MD. Barbara attended Western Maryland College where she earned a B. A. in Social Work. She then went on to earn an M. S. W degree from the University of Maryland. Barbara loved to help people and her professional life showed how much she cared for others. She held positions at the YWCA, Maryland Social Services Administration, Howard County Department of Social Services, Maryland Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped, and the Howard County Maryland Circuit Court. Barbara became Mrs. John Law when she married the love of her life. Together they raised their daughter Jessica and created a loving home as a family. They continued their lives together until John's passing in 2018. Mrs. Law is survived by her loving daughter, Jessica; beloved grandchildren Logan and Rachael; and her dear brother W. Roger Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Judith Ann Smith. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 1pm, at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.
