"Leona M. Echols, 94, of Fort Myers, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023. She was born September 30, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to Lyndon O. and Leona M. (Hamlin) McHaney. She moved to Fort Myers from Maryland in 1989. Mrs. Echols is survived by her children:Barbara Murphy of Fort Myers, Donna Wolf of Denver, CO and Gale Robinson (Dean) of Silsbee, TX; her grandchildren: Rob, Brian, Jon, Dan, Brett, Melanie, Jessica, Eric and Stephanie; her great grandchildren: Cayla, Christina, Sierra, Carson, Breanna, Devan, Eli, Harrison, Max, Kaleb, Kaitlyn, Lena, Lloyd, Liza, Lily, Bennett and Jairus. Also surviving is her long time companion and the father of her children, David E. Mishler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean T. Echols in 2016. Leona loved playing games of all sorts. A few of her favorite saying were, \u0026quot;Life is short, You only go around once and Grab all the gusto you can\u0026quot;. At the request of the family, there will be no services.
