Age - 45
December 6, 2023
Fredrick Charles Moscato, Jr. , (1978 to 2023) affectionately known to family as Fred, Freddy, Ricky, Uncle Scary, and Mom's Son, and to his friends as his preference of aliases, Junior, passed away unexpectedly on November 29, 2023, at the age of 45, in Naples, FL. Born on September 18, 1978, in Evergreen Park, IL, and raised in Blue Island, IL, Junior had a larger than life personality, a love for caffeine (coffee in the a. m. , Pepsi in the p. m. ), a need to remind people constantly how tall he was (6'5" some days, 6'6" on others), and will be remembered as a gentle giant. Junior was the owner and operator of Moscato's Trim Carpentry for many years throughout the Naples and Southwest Florida areas. He was a very talented carpenter, specializing in custom woodworking. He loved his birds, Newport 100's, a good beef sandwich, Chicago pizza, mudding at The Redneck Yacht Club, The Chicago Bears, The Chicago Cubs, The Chicago Blackhawks, and going to see his Chicago teams when they came down to Florida. Junior had a larger-than-life personality. He was tall, loud, loved his family, was the life of the party, loved to laugh, and was always down for a good time. His playful behavior when he'd visit his nieces and nephews would often leave us wondering who was entertaining who. His parents saw his innocence, his sisters protected him fiercely, but his heart belonged to his nieces and nephews. No matter how a conversation went, good or bad, he always said I love you at the end. We will miss him terribly. Devastation doesn't quite describe the loss, but he'd want all of us to celebrate him, without sadness. Junior is survived by his mother, Carol (Robert) Plahm, his father, Fredrick Charles Moscato, Sr. , his sisters, Jennifer (David) Eisenmann, Amanda (Jiri) Moscato, Debbie (Steve) Plahm, and his seven beloved nieces and nephews, Selena, Nate, Kaitlynn, Abby, Adelynn, Santi, and Jasper. He is also survived by a sister, Lisa (Matt) Rosen, and her family. Junior will be terribly missed by all, including his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends he crossed paths with through good times and in bad. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Jeanette Lake, and the love of his life, Kimbra Griffin (January 24, 2021). Junior never recovered from losing Kim, and his family believes he is at peace now, knowing he is reunited with her. Junior's family would like to sincerely thank everyone who has been there and for their assistance in supporting his heartbreak over the loss of Kim. Your kindness was always appreciated and will never be forgotten. Services will be held privately by his family in the Spring. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests an act of kindness towards a stranger, a good deed, or simply letting a loved one know you love them, even in their darkest hours.Show more
