James Robert Hamilton Obituary James Robert Hamilton was born on April 21,1951 in Holdenville Oklahoma to Joe and Carmelita Hamilton. James grew up on the family farm near Horntown and attended Moss Public Schools, then graduated from Holdenville High School as a member of the All State Choir. After graduating from Holdenville, James graded peanuts for the USDA. He married his high school sweetheart Donna Kibby on October 3, 1969 in Holdenville. They later moved to Anadarko Oklahoma where James transferred with the USDA and continued grading peanuts in the Anadarko and Binger area. After about a year, they moved back to Horntown on the family farm where James joined his dad in farming peanuts and running Hamilton Irrigation, where James was an excellent aluminum welder. James also worked in the oilfield during this time. James and Donna enjoyed raising their three children Annette, Candy, and Richard in the Moss community where they attended many school events. The kids were very active in sports and the family enjoyed showing animals through the 4-H and FFA. James would play Santa for families and businesses in the Holdenville and later the Anadarko area. He enjoyed seeing the kids' faces as he gave them gifts. It was a family event, as Donna and the kids would wait outside to help pack the toys into Santa's bag. For many years, James enjoyed singing while Donna would accompany him on the piano. They sang at many local events held at the various community churches in the area. James also led music at Penn West Baptist Church in Holdenville. When James left the farm he followed the calling from the Lord to preach and pastored churches in Eastern Oklahoma. In the late 70's James and Donna worked together in oil and gas. They traveled all over Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Arkansas checking and buying oil and gas leases. After the oil business slowed down in 1987 they moved their family to Anadarko again. James worked at Anadarko Walmart as the Lawn and Garden manager, where he was able to share his vast knowledge and love for planting and nurturing plant life. James served his community as a City Councilman and then as Mayor of Anadarko for a time. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren watching them play sports and showing animals. James loved flowers and gardening and spent many hours in the last few years outside at his home, where his family had adapted his garden so that he could continue his love for growing things. Many times his family all gathered together on his porch for family events or just to sit and visit.
