Leanne (Musser) Blackham, 82, of Washington Township, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at AHN-Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville surrounded by her entire family and loved ones. Born August 15, 1941 in Indiana, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. Musser & Emyla (Lepsch) Musser. Leanne was a 1959 graduate of Penn Hills High School, and studied Art at Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon University) for one year before she chose to marry her high school sweetheart. She was a kind, compassionate, and caring person. Her whole life was devoted to caring for her family and creating a wonderful home. She was a creative and skilled artist, painter, and enjoyed needlework, quilting, sewing, and anything that could be made by hand. Her home was filled with her creations and she loved making handmade gifts for family and friends. She was part of a group of knitters that met regularly at a local yarn shop where she thoroughly enjoyed their friendship and company. Leanne made knitted chemo hats for over 10 years which she donated to the AHN-Cancer Institute in Monroeville. Leanne was an avid lover of jazz music and enjoyed going to local jazz clubs to hear talented musicians play. She and her husband could be seen regularly, almost every weekend for years, at the James Street Tavern on the North Side of Pittsburgh. Leanne also had a great interest in helping the local youth. She was a part of the drug and alcohol program with the Kiski Area School District for many years and served on the Westmoreland County Youth Commission helping to mentor and guide troubled youth. She had a great sense of humor and always made sure her family was well fed. Leanne was never without a sweet treat or a snack and could always be found sitting in her favorite chair knitting or coloring away. Leanne is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard T. Blackham; children, Rick (Colleen) Blackham of Apollo, Shaun (Cindy Walls) Blackham of Delmont, Jeremy (Kathy Lamison) Blackham of Saltsburg, Megan (Alan) Weigand of Apollo; grandchildren Eric (Emma) Blackham of Cheswick, Andrew Blackham of Hampton, Tim (Tanner) Blackham of Hampton, Elliott, Connor, and Ethan Weigand of Apollo; great-grandchildren, Caden, Declan, FinnLee, Clementine; and her brother, David (Kathleen) Musser of Washington Township. At Leanne's request, all services are private, and have been entrusted to the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. , Apollo

Donald H. "Don" Yamber, 87, of Leechburg, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 in his son's home, surrounded by his loving family. Born March 29, 1936 in East Vandergrift, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Bernat) Yamber. Don was a 1955 graduate of Vandergrift High School, and proudly served our country with the United States Army Reserves as a member of the military police. He was employed by Wean United as well as Hyde Park Foundry as a roll turner for many years, before retiring in 1999. Don was a member of the Slovak Club, Polish Club, and Lithuanian Club in East Vandergrift. Don was a fan of all the Pittsburgh sports teams, and he rarely missed a game. He enjoyed playing 8 ball and bumper pool. Don was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He supplied the Kiski Valley with nutrolls, even sending them out of state at times, because they were just that darn good. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Larry; and sisters, Janie and Loretta. Don is survived by his children, Donald R. (David) Yamber-Miller of Apollo; grandchildren, Derek, Tyler, Erin, Nicholas, Samantha (Zack), Joshua (Morgan), Holly, Robert; great grandchildren, Raegan and Shelby; sisters, Margaret (Forrest) Decker of Trafford, PA, Rosie (Tim) Retter of Gilbert, AZ; sister in law, Lee Yamber of Oklahoma Borough; and many nieces and nephews. Maxine Isabelle (Nulph) Saxion, 98, of Kiski Township, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 in ACMH- Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning. Born December 27, 1924 in New Bethlehem, PA, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mazie (Waugaman) Nulph. Maxine was a graduate of Apollo High School. She worked as an interior decorator for the former Country Manor in Indiana, and was the tax collector for Kiski Township for many years. Maxine was a member of Boiling Springs Presbyterian Church in Spring Church for over 70 years, and served as a deacon at the church. Maxine was voted Mrs. Pennsylvania in 1965, and part of a family horse farm, the former Saxiony Springs Farm. She was an expert seamstress, avid card player, and loved going to play bingo. Maxine was respected by her community for her intelligence, keen wit, beauty, and compassion. She was an extremely devoted mother, a life-long love and friend to her "three girls. "In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and gentleman farmer, John W. "Jack" Saxion, a decorated World War II Veteran, who passed away on February 7, 1995. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Sherene J. (Pastor Paul) Eckenrode, Pam N. Saxion of Ford City, Lori M. Saxion of Oregon; grandchildren, Paul S. (Rita) Eckenrode, Bryan (Paula) Eckenrode, Kara Eckenrode, Danielle Hollingsworth, Tony Gemminetti; twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Crissy N. (Smith) Riffer, 71, of Kiski Township, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 in Kittanning Health and Rehab Center. Born June 3, 1952 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Harold E. and Carolynn T. (Truby) Smith. Crissy was a 1970 graduate of Apollo-Ridge High School and attended IUP. She was a homemaker, and member of the Vandergrift United Methodist Church where Crissy was the financial secretary for 19 years, and membership secretary for many years. She assisted with funeral dinners and making candy for many church events. Crissy volunteered many hours at the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank in Natrona Heights. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and loved to travel with her husband to the Outer Banks and Lancaster, PA. Crissy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Keith A. Riffer; sister, Catherine Shearer of Oklahoma Borough; sister-in-law, Roxana (Paul) Legarsky of Kiski Township; brother-in-law, Richard (Kathy) Riffer of Kittanning; and several nieces and nephews. Raymond Dominick "The Razor" Romeo, Sr. , 82, of Lower Burrell, gently, lovingly, and peacefully slipped from this life into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born July 18, 1941 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Valentino Romeo & Elenora (Toscano) Romeo. Ray was a graduate of Arnold High School, and worked at Sharpe Cadillac, Firestone Tire, and Good Year Tire. He was the well-regarded founder of Romeo's Tire in Leechburg, and later joined his son, Dominick, in creating Romeo's Imperial Coating in New Kensington. Ray enjoyed golfing and watching sports, especially football and hockey. Family was of utmost importance to him, and Ray loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, as well as his little dog, Geeja. Bonnie F. (Porter) Shuster, 82, of the Kepple Hill section of Parks Township, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Friday, October 20,2023, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries of Cabot. Born June 19, 1941, in Parks Township, a daughter of the late William J. and Katherine Ferne (Peters) Porter. Bonnie and her late husband, Ronald, owned and operated Awnings by Shuster in Oklahoma Borough until their retirement in 2001. After her retirement, Bonnie spent time traveling, often spending the winter months in Florida. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Paul's Highfield Lutheran Church in Parks Township, where she was a member of Helping Hands. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing, a strong cup of black coffee, a good gossip session, and spending time with her lifelong friend, Dorothy. Most of all, Bonnie loved her family. She looked forward to every day that she got to spend with her great-granddaughter, Taylor, with whom she shared a special bond. Surviving are her two sons, W. Lynn (Rhonda) Clever and Scott Clever, both of Parks Township, three step-daughters, Christine (Mike) Bell, Jennifer (Dan) Lunger, and Lisa (Jeremy) Hepler, 9 grandchildren: Shelby (Dustin) Riggle, Katie (Tyler) Umbaugh, Matt Blystone {Haley), Travis (Kellie) Clever, Kristy (Jay) Starnes, Justin (Monica) Bell, Sasha,& Erik Anderson, Maci & Liam Hepler, and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Bonnie's siblings: Kay Hileman, Diane (Jay) Egge, and Billy (Jerri) Porter, a sister-in-law, Doris Sutton, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Shuster in 2015, and her brother, Timmy R. Porter in 2021. John was a graduate of Carrick High School. He was employed as an elevator installer by National Elevator of Pittsburgh for 32 years. John was a member of Boiling Springs Presbyterian Church, PA Trappers Association District #2, and Apollo Masonic Lodge #437. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and trapping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Ruck, Janet Wislick, and Doris Maxton. John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judith A. Born October 14, 1939 in Natrona Heights, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore Palattella & Mary (Cristello) Palattella. Betty was a 1958 graduate of Vandergrift High School, and worked part time for Dobi Catering. She was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church. Betty enjoyed collecting knick-knacks, shopping and crafting. She liked going to Community Day events around the area. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Dunmire, who passed away on April 4, 2001; and her brother, Vito Palattella. Betty is survived by her children, James L. Dunmire of Gilpin Township, Michele L. (Gregg) Horrell of Kiski Township, Steven L.
