Lawrence "Larry" Michael Wemyss, 56, of Stafford passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Stafford Hospital Larry was self-employed at CAMJAP Inspections, Inc as the Lead Inspector He was the V P of Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club - Station 164 and had previously retired as a volunteer firefighter Larry loved to travel, ride motorcycles, go glamping in the family RV, start projects and work until they were done Survivors include his wife, Jolene Poleshuk; sons Kyle Joseph Poleshuk-Wemyss and Michael Vincent Poleshuk-Wemyss (Brittany Stonebraker); grandchildren Alexander J Wemyss and Blake Dykes; siblings Robert Wemyss (Tina), James Wemyss, and Patricia Reece; brother-in-law George J Poleshuk; sister-in-law Rose Holmes; nephews TJ Wemyss, Jimmy Freeman, Bobby Birchenough, George J Poleshuk, Jr , Sam Holmes, and Dan Holmes; and niece Chelsea Wemyss He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Diana (Buoniconti) Wemyss; brother Christopher Wemyss; and nephew Shaun Hitchcock The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p m on Friday, October 20, 2023 and from 1 to 3 p m on Saturday, October 21 with a service immediately following at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Plants and flowers will be gratefully received by the family Charity recipient(s) will be determined at a later date

Gertrude Barber Raines, 101, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Mary Washington Hospital surrounded by family. Gertrude was born on May 5, 1922, to Charles and Carrie Barber, who lived in the Stafford Store area, which is now the western part of Marine Corps Base, Quantico. Gertrude married William L. "Billy" Raines in 1946. Both were lifelong residents of Stafford County and members of Ramoth Baptist Church. Gertrude was a very loving and caring person to anyone she met, always willing to go the extra mile for family and friends. Gertrude is survived by her two sons, Dennis (Eileen) and Danny (Rosina); six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, who were always around for Mammie's special pound cake; and several nieces and nephews. Gertrude was predeceased by her parents, Charles, Sr. and Carrie; beloved husband of 50 years, "Billy"; sisters Louise, Cleo, Ruth, and Judy; brothers Charles, Jr. and Sidney; and grandson, Brandon, all of Stafford County. A special thanks to Brenda Butler, Dr. McAllister, the 4-South nurses and CNAs at Mary Washington Hospital, and the Commonwealth Senior Assisted Living folks for all their love, kindness, and friendship they gave to our mother. We celebrate Mom's life because we know she is with our Heavenly Father, who will say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. " The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p. m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023, Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Aaron Robert Daniel passed away suddenly on Friday, December 1, 2023 at the young age of 31. He was born on October 1, 1992 at Bethesda Naval Hospital. While we mourn the loss of Aaron, we also celebrate his extraordinary life and the love he shared with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. From his earliest years, Aaron displayed an extraordinary capacity for compassion and empathy. He possessed a heart that overflowed with warmth and kindness, a quality that touched the lives of countless people. His selflessness and dedication to others defined him, making him an incredible person to know. As a child, Aaron assumed the role of a confident and caring leader with his many brothers and sisters. He would guide them through life's pathways and sometimes mischievous adventures. Aaron lived most of his life in Stafford County, Virginia where he worked as a server and manager at the Outback Steakhouse in Stafford for over 9 years. He took his work very seriously. He recently was moving up in the company. He transferred to an Outback Steakhouse in Maryland where there was great potential for advancement. He then moved to upper Marlboro, Maryland with his boyfriend, Reese, until his final days. He talked about moving back to the Stafford area because of how much he missed his family. This was Aaron's favorite time of year. Taking after his mother's incredible love for Christmas and the holiday season, such as the numerous large family gatherings, going to the adventure parks to see the Christmas lights, and decorating his own home. Recently he purchased a large Christmas tree that he was so proud of. He is survived by his mother, Melissa Bailey; step-father, Patrick Bailey; father Roger Danie; seven brothers and sisters, Megan, Cory (Bekah), Jaden, Kyler, Daelyn, Carly, and Patrick, Jr. ; boyfriend Reese Gaskins; and many nieces and nephews. May we find strength in each other, as we go through this difficult time, cherishing the beautiful memories we have of Aaron. A service will be held at 12 p. m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Natalie Carole Suter Davis arrived at the next chapter of her life on Saturday, December 2, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Natalie was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia to Richard Liskey Suter and Idah Noreen Payne Suter. She grew up with brothers Richard P. Suter (Mary) and Perry H. Suter (Kathy). Natalie went on to attend five colleges/universities while her Marine husband was transferred to several duty stations. While working full-time and raising a family, she earned an undergraduate and a master's degree from Mary Washington College. She was the Executive Director of the Rappahannock Council on Domestic Violence (Empower House) and taught English at Stafford High School. Natalie implemented the Office for Volunteer Assistance for Stafford County and served as its coordinator and as the Stafford County Ombudsman. Natalie's hobbies included gardening, cooking, painting, and sewing. She worked on various community groups, including Hot Line and Parkinson's Support Group. She served for many years on the Board of Directors for Fredericksburg Counseling Services. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fredericksburg and also served on its Board of Directors. She is survived by her husband, Ray Huston Davis; children Ray H. Davis II (Tricia) and Idah Rhea White (Jeffrey); grandchildren Emily Davis, Christine Terlisner (Joseph), and Stephanie Davis; as well as three great-grandsons, Matthias, Dominic, and Peter Terlisner. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery will take place at 10 a. m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Charles Dwayne Shutts, also known as "Charlie," was born on August 31, 1961 in Alexandria, VA to Randolph and Esther Mary Shutts. He left the world unexpectedly and entered into the gates of Heaven on Monday, November 27, 2023 at his home in Stafford, VA at the age of 62. Charlie was a selfless man who had a heart of gold. He loved deeply and opened his home to anyone who needed it. He had such a contagious laugh and a unique sense of humor. He loved "chicken," if you know, you know. He was also a diehard Redskins fan even though he threatened to burn the fan gear every time they would lose a game. Charlie loved his dogs who he considered as his family. He also loved decorating for the holidays and had the best blow ups! Charlie is survived by his son, Charles, Jr. (Diminga); daughters Mary (partner Nicholas), Robyn, and Stacey; previous wife, Betty; grandson Jeremiah; adopted granddaughter, Analeigh; siblings Suzie Barrera (Rafael), Randy Shutts (Kim), Doug Shutts, Frank Shutts (Myke), and April Sherwood (Dave); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Shutts. Charlie was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by anyone who crossed his path. His passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. Charlie's ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all he knew.
