Lawrence 'Larry' Lilly, 64 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Private family services will be held. Lawrence Charles Lilly was born on February 27, 1959 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Stanley and Gayle (Schonher) Lilly. Their family lived in Worthington, MN, Omaha, NE, and Sgt Bluff, IA before moving to Westfield, Iowa. Larry later moved to Le Mars, Iowa and was recently a resident at Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen, Iowa. Larry is survived by his brother, Scott (Susan) Lilly of Newell, West Virginia; four nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles: Tom and Mary Schonher, Betty Wilson, Barb Joy, Gilbert and Peggy Lilly, Nancy Lilly, and Mary Lilly; and other extended relatives. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Gayle Lilly; uncles and aunt: Dennis Joy, Doug Lilly, and Ross Lilly.

Mark Allen Thompson, 63, passed away on December 5, 2023, of natural causes. Mark Allen Thompson was born on March 13th, 1960, in the U. S. Navy Hospital, San Diego, California to Milton and Beverly Thompson. He attended Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD. On August 27th, 1984, he received his certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship where he completed his occupation for Master Carpenter. Mark was always recognized by his employers for his outstanding talents in his work. Mark married his first wife, Sylvia Crawford, on July 15th, 1987. They had two daughters, Shannan and Michelle. Later in life, he married former wife, Pam Knoff. He continued to have a great friendship with them both. He had a passion for classic automobiles and once had a shiny, yellow 1946 ford pickup truck. In his younger years, he enjoyed running and could run for miles. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July. He always loved to celebrate with his family. He was a great swimmer and loved fishing for walleye. He was fond of his collection of skeleton skulls and would find the simplest things to be so valuable. Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Shannan (Steve) Schiller of Delano, MN, Michelle (Jeff) Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD; 7 grandchildren, Alicia, Sophi, Kaytlin, Taitum, Logan, Vivian, Cashton; his siblings Carol (Richard) Baumgart, Dale Thompson, Cindy (Doug) Weatherwax, Carrie Thompson, and Juli Rothenbuehler and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton, and Beverly.Show more
