Lawrence Brunetti Obituary

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, Lawrence "LB" Brunetti, 96, of Leesburg, Virginia. Stubborn and opinionated with a heart of gold, he was a big presence and respected by many. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, his parents, Elvira and Ernesto, as well as 5 siblings were the epitome of a Depression-Era, hard-working, immigrant Italian family. Larry proudly served in the Army during WWII, then had a long career at the National Institutes of Health as a Data Analyst. He had a tenacious entrepreneurial spirit which always kept him busy with inventions, projects and "side hustle" business endeavors over the years. A lover of classical music and the (Italian) culinary arts, he baked his own bread and made his own pizzas well into his 90's. LB excelled as an athlete his entire life, playing baseball as a young man, but with his true calling being golf. He played professionally for a time and was known for his golf lessons both on and off the course. He was driven by self-discipline and an incredible work ethic. Working until he was almost 90 years old, he never asked more of anyone than he asked of himself. Larry leaves three children, Robert, Pamela and Nanci, along with six grandsons and four great-grandchildren. We will miss him dearly. Services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:30am at Colonial Funeral Home located at 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia. A reception will follow at 12:00pm noon at Il Cappero Ristorante at 19307 Promenade Drive in Lansdowne.
