Born on July 16, 1932, in Cowiche, Washington, Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who touched the lives of everyone he met with his loving, kind, and thoughtful nature. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jessica Sewell, Dustin Nickerson & McKenzie Amos and his great grandchildren; Lucy & Marshall Sewell, Joel, Gloria & Claire Nickerson, and Ava & Gino Patricelli. He was a proud and loving grandfather, always cherishing the time he spent with his family. Larry's family was the center of his world, and he was the rock upon which they built their lives. Larry graduated from Humboldt State University, and served his country as a Korean War veteran, his dedication to service and community continued throughout his life. He had a 35- year career as a Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director of Del Norte High School, where he helped shape the lives of countless young athletes. An avid sportsman, his enthusiasm inspired those around him to strive for excellence both on and off the field. Larry was a firm believer in the power of athletics to teach valuable life lessons, and he dedicated his life to helping others reach their full potential. Friends are invited to share stories, memories, and honor the remarkable man that he was. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Larry's memory to the Del Norte High School Athletic Department, so that future generations of athletes can continue to benefit from the programs and opportunities that were so dear to his heart. Go Niners!!
