Beloved wife and mother, Kathleen Ann Ecob, 72, passed away peacefully on June 12th, 2023, at her home in Flossmoor, Illinois. She was surrounded by her loved ones: husband of 49 years Robert Ecob, son Thomas Ecob and daughter-in-law Farzana Ecob. Kathleen spent a life devoted to her family and to traveling. In 1987 she founded Park Forest Travel with her friend and business partner Lois Fritz and for 36 years she helped the people of her community realize their travel dreams. Kathleen was fascinated by the varied and rich cultures of the world. Along with her husband Robert, she journeyed to Egypt to see the pyramids, China to admire the Great Wall and toured the Galapagos Islands to visit with the giant tortoises. Whether she was listening to a symphony in the Vienna Opera House or enjoying the blue waters of Dubrovnik, Croatia, she was at her happiest experiencing something new, and helping others do the same. She never slowed down, and in the last year of her life alone she visited Hawaii, Austria, Germany, and France twice. Kathleen inspired a curiosity and love for travel in everyone she met. She leaves behind a devoted husband, a loving son, and a footprint that spans the entire globe. We will forever miss and love you.Show more

Lawrence Edward Jensen, age 97, of Flossmoor, IL, born September 22, 1925 entered into eternal life on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Jensen (nee McGeehan); beloved mother of Kathy (Barry) Murchie, Tricia (Tim) Kuhn and Larry Jensen; cherished grandfather of Kevin (Ashley) and Colin (Cayla) Kuhn; great grandfather of Wyatt Kuhn and several treasured nieces and nephews. Larry was born of the South Side of Chicago on 77th and Prairie Ave. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp at the age of 17 after attending Tilden Tech High School. He attended the Air Corps Cadet training program at Moorhead College and finished his advanced pilot training in St. Louis. He was assigned to the 3rd Air Corps and was a pilot on the B-17 Flying Fortress bomber. After serving his country, Larry became a plumber and was a proud retired member of the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers' Local Union 130. After his "retirement", he became the plumbing inspector for his beloved town of Flossmoor and worked until the ripe old age of 88. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Meeting at St. George Catholic Church 6707 West 175th Street, Tinley Park, IL 60477 on Thursday, May 18, 2023 for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip. Jean O'Neill (Carey), age 93 a resident of Marco Island, FL and Long Beach, IN, formerly longtime of Flossmoor IL, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022. She was born in Chicago, IL on June 25, 1929 to the late Robert and Ann (Lyons) Carey. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Clement O'Neill, they were married for 48 years they raised four daughters Erin (Robert) Hearne, Jeannie (Stephen) Roman, Lisa (Dave) Drummond and Kathy (Pat) Ford, until Clem passed away May, 2005. She was also blessed to have a companion Ed McGrath until his death July, 2019. Jean grew up on the southside of Chicago with 3 brothers the late Thomas (Susan) Carey, late Robert (Peggy) Carey and Tony (Joan) Carey and 2 sisters the late Judy (Mike) Curtin and Helen "Honey" (Jim) Ehret. She was a teacher for Heather Hill School, Flossmoor school district. A devout catholic and former member of Infant Jesus of Prague Church in Flossmoor. Upon her retirement Jean loved spending time in the warm weather of Marco Island, FL in the winter and Long Beach, IN in the summer, she loved golf, swimming, and belonged to her garden club. She was an avid reader and loved her books. Her family owns and operates Hawthorne Racecourse for over a century. Jean was a cherished grandmother of Shannon (Jason) Kimsey, Robert Hearne, Molly Epich, Patrick Hearne, Casey Dicks, Neil Dicks, Bridgette (Isaac) Evans, Matthew Drummond, Liam Drummond, Morgan Ford and Mark Ford. She was a proud Grandma Great to 14. Kenneth was an ironworker for the CTA, and a member of Local 1 Union. He was a Chicago Bears fan and enjoy watching the tv show Jeopardy. Along with family and friends he leaves behind his loving bird Carlito and dog Harry. A very proud veteran of the US Army, Kenneth received many medals from the US Army including; National Defense Service Medal, National Defense Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Bronze Star Medal. Kenneth is survived by his wife Janis M. (nee Gerardi) Rudnicki, daughter Kimberly Grossi, son Tim (Christie) Grossi, sister Deborah (Thomas) Gabrysiak, brother Paul (April) Rudnicki, and grandchildren Kaylie Grossi & Julian Grossi. He was preceded in death by his parents Rebecca & Louis Rudnicki, and his brother Robert. He retired from ACME Steel in Riverdale, IL where he worked as a mechanic. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed classic cars, attending car shows, and country music. He loved working outside in his yard and telling stories to whoever would listen. He is survived by his children; Deanna Whiteside of Evanston, IL and Bobby W. Kentrick Jr. (Kimberly Becker) of Peotone, IL; his grandchildren, Kyle Kentrick, Jackson Kentrick, Hannah Whiteside, Grace Whiteside, and Natalie Greskoviak; 2 brothers, Billy and Harold Owens; and his former wife, Carol Lietz of Crown Point, IN.
