FRIDA WILHELMINE SCHACHER (PFARR)FLINT, MI Age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 19, 2024. A Christian Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 26th, 2024 at 11 am at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 5073 Daly Blvd., Flint, MI 48506; Pastor Jeff Frechette officiating. Internment will take place at Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI, on Sunday, February 25th, from 4 pm to 6 pm, and one hour before the funeral at the church. Frida was born on March 20th, 1933, to Frida (Schuler) and Josef Pfarr in Neckarsulm, Germany. She was the oldest of 4 children; herself, Irmgard, Erika and Gerhard. Frida was married to her husband, Paul, on January 30th 1954. This year was their 70th wedding anniversary. They had 3 children; Linda, Ricky and Diane. Frida was a proud housewife raising her three children. For short periods of time, she worked doing house cleaning, as an operator at Warram Manufacturing and at Pepsi Cola, both in Flint. FRIDA LOVED PLAYING CARDS AND GOING OUT TO EAT. Her favorite card games were euchre and Skip-Bo. Frida was honored to be a Naturalized American Citizen on April 10th, 1962. She was a life-long member of Davison VFW Auxiliary 4087 and a regular attendee at East Side Senior Center, Flint. To loving memory she leaves behind; husband Paul, sister Erika Schlaud, son Rick Schacher (Regina), daughter Linda Warren (Robert), sister-in-law Beverly Daly, brother-in-law Gary Schacher, and grandchildren; Tracy Marlow (Ethan), Carmen Ainsley (Paul), Andrew Schacher (Cassie), Kelsey Didier, Cora Fang (Brian), Alisa Dunn, Kayla Colerick (Mark), and Jonny Dunn (Grace). She also leaves behind great-grandchildren; Arianna McCreary (Dominic), Hudson, Mila, Paul Royce, Maverick, Gianna, Miles, Amelia, Tyson, Gage, Mason, Shiloh, Jaxon, Conner, Brooklyn and Sunny. Recently, she was blessed with one great-great grandchild; Juniper McCreary. Frida was preceded in death by her daughter Diane Dunn, her mother and father, her brother, her sister Irmgard (Eduard), her brothers-in-law; James Schlaud and Dick Daly, her sister-in-law Eunice Lockrey (Jerry), her granddaughter Shannon Church (surviving husband Jeff); and her niece Sandra Passow (surviving husband Jerry).Gifts in her memory can be given to St. Mark Lutheran Church, or to your favorite charity. GRAHAM, DONNA ARLENE – Of Davison Township, age 91, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at McLaren-Flint. Funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church, 746 South Saginaw Street in Flint, Reverend Paul Ytterock officiating. Private burial in Davison Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. Visitation 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Donna will be at the church 4 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service. Donna was born in Flint, Michigan on March 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Walter Joseph and Thelma Rae (Ritcher) Mooney. On February 3, 1973 she married Gordon Graham at Davison Baptist Church and he preceded her in death in 2004. She graduated from MSU in Editorial Journalism and was employed by the Flint Journal as a journalist, and later as an Editor in the Women, Children and Teen page. Donna later was employed as a Public Relations Director and Coordinator of Volunteers at the Flint Chapter of the American Red Cross and the former Flint Regional Blood Center. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Flint, member of International P.E.O. Sisterhood BX Chapter; Friends of Flint Public Library, Advisory Board of the Sloan Museum and also Women’s National Needlework Guild. She was in The Current Book Club and the Women’s National Farm and Garden Association. She loved to garden, cook and was a needle worker practicing weaving, needle pointing, knitting and historical clothing. Donna is survived by her son, Joseph A. (Irina Roshchina) Fialka; sister, Sharon Kingsbury; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Graham in 2004; sisters, Yvonne Wismer and Shirley MacGillivray.

James Reginald Thomas, Sr.

Mr. James Reginald Thomas, Sr. “Reg & Red” was born to the proud and loving parents of Rhuben and Lillie Thomas. 1 of 10 siblings, he grew up on St. John and Michigan Ave. He attended Flint Community Schools, Fairview, Lowell, and Central High School graduating with the Class of “65”. After which he was hired in General Motors, working in the Buick Foundry until being drafted in the U.S. Army in 1966. After serving his 2yrs.of tour overseas as a Forward Observer in a Weapons Platoon he was honorably discharged. He returned home and attended Detroit College of Business and Baker College, withdrawing from school 1 semester short of graduating and returning to work at Buick Motor Division, retiring after 30yrs. of service. The last 12 yrs. of employment with General Motors, he worked as a Material, Data Sheet and Safe Use Instructor, Supplier and Distribution and Hazardous Material Instructor. James met his best friend and road-dog (Bunnie) in 1981 and was married in 1984. They were together for 36 straight years. They traveled the Continental U.S. visiting every casino they passed or seen (driving), Bunnie feared flying. James enjoyed fishing, listening to the blues, jazz, anything but rap, and he loved to draw. Mr. James Reginald Thomas, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: 3 sons, Terrance Richard, James Jr. (Tina) Thomas and Reuben (Monica) Thomas, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, Eunice (Robert) Milton, Teresa Thomas, and Deborah Thomas, 1 sister-in-law, and 2 brothers-in-law. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a few special friends including, Michael Harris, Phil Dudley, Stu Simmons, Robert Milton, Lionell Franklin, and Doris Williams. Mr. James Reginald Thomas, Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Burnestine (Bunnie) Thomas, parents Rhuben and Lillie (Sims) Thomas, 4 sisters, June Walker, Norma Cochram, Madeline Bell, and Betty Perdue, 2 brothers, Ivory Thomas, and Dale Thomas.

Mr. Kenneth LaMont Thompson was born March 3,1960 in Flint, Michigan. Kenneth LaMont Thompson affectionally known as ‘Ken”, “Kenny G” or “Pretty Kenny” was born to the union of Walton and Norm Thompson in Flint, Michigan on March 19, 1960. Ken received his education from Northwestern High School. Ken was passionate about football and loved the Detroit Lions. He worked several years as a crewman at Red Lobster. He kept you laughing, and he loved to see everyone smiling while sitting outside enjoying friends and family. He kept up with current events on CNN. Ken loved family above all else. He loved to sing and dance. Mr. Kenneth LaMont Thompson leaves to cherish his memory: 3 brothers, Micheal (Karen) Thompson of St. Louis, MO, Anthony (Rhonda) Thompson of Ypsilanti, MI, and Dalton Sr. (Twanny) Thompson of Flint, MI, 4 sisters, Yolanda and Seabette both of Flint, MI, Sabrina of Ypsilanti, MI, and Monica LaShay of Fort Mill, SC, parents, Dalton and Norma Jean Thompson, 4 sisters, Yolanda Thompson of Flint, MI, Sabrina Thompson of Ypsilanti, MI, Monica Thompson of Fort Mill, SC, and Seannette Champman of Flint, MI, 3 brothers, Micheal Thompson, Anthony Thompson and Dalton Thompson, nieces, Delon Caldwell, Nakita Thompson, and Monique Marshall, nephews, Tywan Thompson and Kiyuan Thompson, and a host of nieces and nephews that will miss him immensely. Age 68, of Flint, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at McLaren Flint with her family by her side. In accordance with Phyllis’ wishes, cremation has taken place. Phyllis was born in Empire, Michigan, on July 11, 1955, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Beulah (Moore) Mitchell. Educated in Alaska, Phyllis attended East High in Anchorage and graduated with the Class of 1974. Phyllis met and married the love of her life, Frank Talas, on February 2, 1974. Phyllis worked as a Switch Board Operator for the Department of Defense until her retirement in 2019. Phyllis started working for the DOD due to being placed under a handicapped program working for 59 Signal as a telephone operator. She also worked for the Corps of Engineers for the Office of Environmental Cleanup Sites for the DOD and then went back to being a telephone operator. After her 20 years there, she went to work for the United States Army JBER Library in Fort Richardson, where she worked for 10 years. She instituted a program to help children learn to read, called PAWS to Read which she ran for 5 years. She received awards from the Air Force for the PAWS program. The program brought in children, up to the age of 12, to help them learn to read and comprehend. The program entailed having service dogs and therapy dogs as well as emotional support animals. She received an award from former First Lady, Melania Trump, and was told it was one of the best help-teach-to-read programs that she had seen in the country. In her free time, Phyllis enjoyed crocheting and every Friday night, she enjoyed playing World of Warcraft video games with her husband where she acquired an online family playing the game that she still talks to to this day. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. Left to cherish Phyllis' memory are her beloved husband of 50 years, Frank Talas; children: Paulette Erickson, Scott and wife, Elizabeth Talas; grandchildren: Amanda, Austin, Aaron, Elysia, Malakai, Adarah, Tristan, Elanor, Blue, Cassandra, Franklin, III; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Elliott; sister, Donna Ambe-Ramsey; several other family and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents.

Daniel also enjoyed watching various television shows and movies. He was a fan of Michigan Football and the Detroit Lions as well. Daniel loved his family and he will be dearly missed. Daniel leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents Geneva (Jennings) and Dale Linscott; brother Steven Graham Oakes; stepbrothers Jeffrey Ryan and Gregory Todd Linscott; stepsister Teresa Ellen (Martin) Horken; and nephew Logan Dale Avery.
