She was born on September 16, 1965, in Chicago, IL. Dorsey courageously fought a battle against pancreatic cancer. Those left to cherish Dorsey's memory include her loving wife Sheila O'Neil, her father-in-law Patrick Griffin (Kathy), her mother-in-law Kathy O'Neil Oster, her sister-in-law Stephanie Oster, her former husband John J. Chambers-Malewig, her siblings James "Jamie" Chambers (Sheila) and Mary Lesniak (Jeff), her nephews Joshua Chambers (Kristen), Sean Chambers (Nicole), Luke Chambers (Ashley), and Seth Chambers, and her grand-nephews Samuel and Charlie Chambers. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Pierce Chambers and Marguriete Chambers. Dorsey proudly served the Chicago Public Schools for 35 years as an extraordinary teacher and library leader for the district. Her dedication and passion for education left an indelible mark on her students and colleagues. She was a tireless advocate for increasing students' access to books. Dorsey always told her colleagues, "If you always do what's best for kids, you will always make honorable decisions. " Dorsey's family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff of Palos Hospital for their kind and professional care of Dorsey and her entire family. Dorsey will be remembered as a radiant light of pure joy, kindness, charm, genuine positivity, and love. Her adventurous spirit and enthusiasm for life touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit and welcoming warmth will be greatly missed by many. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 4-8pm, at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home, 10727 S Pulaski Road, Chicago IL 60655. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 10am, at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 6001 W. 111th St. , Alsip, IL 60803. "Tomica Culafic, 93, known by many as "Tom" or "Tommy", passed away peacefully after a brief stay at LaGrange Hospital. Born in 1930 into a large extended farming family in Luge, Andrijevica municipality, in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, he was the fourth child of five. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years; Dragica, parents Krsto and Leposava (nee Mijovic), brothers Miladin and Milos, and sisters Danica and Milusa. As a young man he completed a 3-year military service stint as a Yugoslav navy sailor on the Adriatic Sea. After leaving navy service, he returned home to Luge, where he and Dragica met and married in 1954. Seeking a better future for themselves, they arrived in Chicago in 1966 with two young children to begin a new life in America. A 46-year resident of LaGrange, Tomica enjoyed a three-decade long retirement from General Motors where he worked as an assembler. During his long and active retirement he spent time volunteering at church events, dabbled in writing Serbian folk poetry and tending to the family's annual vegetable garden. He reveled in frequent back-yard gatherings of family and friends in the shade of his grapevine pergola. He and Dragica also traveled extensively; spending lengthy periods visiting friends and family in the U. S and in their native Serbia and Montenegro. He was a loving husband of the late Dragica, and dear father of Milorad "Mike" (Gordana) Culafic and Sonja (Jeff) Jones. Grandfather of Krsto, Aleksia and Stefania Culafic, Jennifer (Bill) Miller and Brian (Erin) Jones. Great-grandfather of Emmitt Miller. Brother-in-law to Kata (Veso) Timotijevic, Milusa (late Vukman) Vukanic and Sonja (late Petar) Vukanic, and above all a caring and respected stric, tetak, ujak, kum, and friend to many.
