Laura Marie Chaney of West Liberty, KY, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the West Liberty Nursing & Rehab Center, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 4 days. She was born Wednesday, May 20, 1942, at West Liberty, KY, daughter of the late Carl & Nancy Jane Cox Johnston. She was united in marriage to Jack Chaney. This union was blessed with three children, Charles Stephen, Winfield McCoy, and Jackie Leigh. Marie was a retired Dietary Supervisor for ARH. She was a Christian and a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Chaney; her daughter, Jackie Leigh Mullins; two sisters, Jean Johnston and Sylvia Nickell; and two brothers, Tommy Johnston and Charles Johnston. She is survived by two sons, Steve & Jana Chaney of Houston, TX and Winfield & Sherry Chaney of Chula Vista, CA; one granddaughter whom she raised, Ashleigh & Chris Wellman of Wilmington, OH; two grandsons, Cameron Chaney & Cody Chaney both of Poplar Grove, IL; and a host of nieces. Memorial service 5 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Grace Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Lindon officiating.
