"Laura Ellen Anders, 72, of Minneapolis and Venice FL, joined her eternal family on September 23, 2023. Laura was born in Springfield, Ohio, on September 12, 1951, and spent her childhood in the Midwest and East Coast. A graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and the University of Minnesota, Laura was a reporter at the Faribault Daily News and a communications executive at Northern States Power Company, Padilla Speer Beardsley, Inc. , Dayton Hudson Corporation, Fleishman-Hillard, Inc. , and Anders Corporate Communications. She relocated to Florida after retirement in 2016. Laura is remembered as an amusing, loving relative and friend, a generous volunteer, and a highly capable person. She is survived by her brother, Michael Anders (Nance) of Alexandria, MN; nephews Jake (Erin) Anders and great-nephews Mikko and Finn of Palmer, Alaska; Thomason (Elizabeth) Anders and great-nephews Martin and Henrik of Copenhagen, Denmark; niece Mattie Anders of Minneapolis, and long-time feline companions (masters) Yin and Yang. McLaughlin, Delaney Ray "Laney", age 16, suddenly passed away on November 20, 2023, and gained her angel wings after a severe asthma exacerbation. She is survived by her loving parents, Colin and Molly, her brother Cole and beloved companions, Cali and Dylan; Uncle Joey (Marcella), Uncle Tim (Holly), Aunt Amy Sullivan-Teele, Uncle Joe (Lexie); Grandparents Joe, Nancy Scott (John Hughes) and Diane Sullivan; Cousins Coral, Caitlin, Robert, Riley, and Joe IV "Cisco". Laney was a source of compassion and kindness. Her loves included many friends from Holy Family Catholic High School, Minnetonka High School, and our beloved community. She will be remembered forever in the hearts of her family in addition to all the furry creatures she befriended throughout her brief lifetime. Laney's legacy includes organ donation, giving gifts of life on Thanksgiving Day. She was truly a blessing to her family for 16 years and we will forever love her "to infinity and beyond". She was preceded in death by her Grandmother Sandy McLaughlin and Grandfather Dan Sullivan, who welcomed her home with open arms. Leslie Dimond

"Leslie Ames Dimond (Lair), was born to Joyce and Felt Lair in Minneapolis on April 20th, 1950. On November 28th, 2023, she was freed from a long, difficult struggle with dementia. She passed peacefully surrounded by family. Leslie married Steve Dimond in 1981. Together, their greatest joy in life was raising and home-schooling their two daughters, Kyla and Margaret. Their family was deeply bonded in everyday life. Leslie created a loving, joyful home and in her, God created a mother. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. With them she shared a love of hiking, camping, road trips and the family dogs. Leslie loved cooking, homemaking, knitting, calligraphy, nature, and long walks. She had a strong affinity for ducks. The simple pleasure of sharing a cup of coffee with her daughters, sister and niece always resulted in much laughter and joy. Perhaps her greatest passion other than family was simply books. In her youth, her first job was at a bookstore. That led to other book related work and later to book-cover design. Leslie loved to read aloud from an early age. It began with reading to her siblings and continued with reading aloud countless stories to her children, husband and grandchildren. Leslie was so blessed to live to know her four beloved grandchildren. They completed her. She marveled at their uniqueness and could never get enough time with them. Unfortunately her illness took a toll on her ability to interact with them. Nonetheless, they remained in her life and she was aware. The twinkle in her eyes said it all. As a young adult, Leslie studied at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Through the years she followed her passion for art, building her skills in calligraphy and graphic design. This ultimately led to a 20 year career, later in life, at Jostens Creative where she made meaningful and lasting friendships. Leslie was humble, kind, eloquent and a friend to all who knew her. She had a wicked sense of humor and the world\u0027s most beautiful and genuine smile. She is survived by her best friend and loyal husband, Steve, her daughters and their husbands, Kyla (Casey McGraw), Margaret (Joe Klenner), granddaughters Rowan and Hannah McGraw, grandsons Wyatt and Luke Klenner, sister Jaye, niece Emily and brother Abbott. Henry Rines

Age - 98

Henry "Dick" Rines, born at his family's home in Mora, Minnesota, on August 3, 1925, passed away peacefully from old age at the still-young age of 98 on November 17, 2023. Dick loved his home at The Landings on Lake Minnetonka where he lived for 57 years and mowed the lawn until he was 96. Dick had a sarcastic wit that scared some people and endeared others. He remembered details about people, asked interesting questions about their lives, and his dry humor came through in every conversation - even at the end of his life. He and his wife of 63 years, Marjorie "Marge" Klavestad Rines, were the instigators of fun and adventures. Their RV trips took them around the country (Dick wouldn't fly after surviving a crash in a glider) and close to home when they threw come-as-you-are parties, picking up friends early in the morning for a day of rowdiness and fun. Always happiest in the outdoors, Dick was an avid hunter and camper, spending time with family at his land in Emily, Minnesota, known lovingly as "Smokey Hollow. " He and Marge enjoyed long tandem bike rides, shooting guns, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. In his later years, Dick enjoyed listening to polka on KCHK-AM, doctoring up frozen dinners and playing cribbage with visitors. Dick loved to sing along to Tennessee Ernie Ford and Nat King Cole, dance the polka, make beer and wine, and do his own thing! He was a talented sketch artist with a mind always at work tinkering on ideas or creating clever Christmas cards. After service in the Merchant Marines and a career in the printing business in Minneapolis, Dick retired to help Marge with her antique shop in a log cabin that they built in Mound called the Langdon Bay Trading Post. During this 30-year retirement, Dick became a consummate collector, finding treasures at estate and garage sales most Thursdays. Dick loved and lived life. He loved his family. He loved each of his three springer spaniels, all named Poco. He was a great conversationalist, funny as hell, and was a humble caregiver to many elder family and friends. Dick gained a larger "family" at the Arbor Memory Care the past year and loved his little apartment and the loving care by a wonderful staff. We're so grateful for all those compassionate caregivers. Thanks also to the special Landings neighbors who helped with yard work, food and friendship. Many thanks, also, for the support of Ridgeview Hospice. In addition to Marge, Dick was preceded in death by his brother Lt. Colonel David Rines and parents Stanley and Margaret (Dixon) Rines. He is survived by children Steve (Judy) Rines, Sue (Bill) Fink, John (Darlene) Rines, Nancy (Mike) Myers, Tom (Kimberly) Rines; sister-in-law Mary Rines and her daughters (aka the California cousins) Leigh, Laura and Lizbeth; as well as 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 11, at 2 p. m. at the Lake Minnetonka Shores Chapel, following a private interment of ashes at Fairview Cemetery in Minnetrista. "Robert R. Helmerichs Age 91, died 11/19/2023 after a lengthy illness. Preceded in death by parents Robert and Mabel, sister Betty, first wife Karen, and second wife Sally. Born in St Louis, he moved to the Twin Cities as a child. After fighting as a paratrooper in Korea and graduating from Macalaster College he had a successful career in banking, ending as president of Bank of Minneapolis. He then transitioned to a second career, founding a property management company with Karen which continues to this day. After retirement, he moved to Florida. Survived by sons Robert and Richard (Jeannine), grandchildren Richard, Matthew, and Lindsay (Jeff) Wittrock, great-grandchildren Kailyn, Zoe, and Maia Wittrock, and partner Norma Quine. After a private burial, a celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 5 from 12:00-2:00 at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel. "Mary Theresa Reinart (Nee Kick) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the age of 87. She was born on May 1, 1936 in Lead, SD to a hard working immigrant family from Bavaria, Germany (father) and South Tyrol, Austria (mother). She lived her early life in the area of Lead and Rapid City, SD, most memorably on the family ranch east of Rapid City. After completing college and attaining her Bachelors Nursing degree she was married to John Reinart and had two children, Jane and John. They lived in Brookings, SD for several years and then moved to the Twin Cities area in Minnesota, eventually settling in Hastings, MN. Her children lovingly remember her as a devoted mother who unceasingly sacrificed for her children. She worked as a public health nurse for Dakota County and eventually at the Veterans Home in Minneapolis until her retirement in 1999. After retirement she moved back to Rapid City, SD to care for her aging mother and brother. In recent years she lived in the area of Roseville, MN and Little Canada, MN. She loved God and was a practicing Catholic throughout her life. She is lovingly remembered by daughter Jane Savage (Nee Reinart), son-in-law Dan Savage, son John Reinart, daughter-in-law Sue Reinart, grandchildren Jack (Marisa) Savage, Maddie Savage (partner Dave Black), Ellie Reinart (fiance Peter Fojtu), Emma (Jack) Barry (Nee Reinart), and Lucy Reinart, sisters Irene Elis (Nee Kick), Millie Weber (Nee Kick), and brother-in-law Roger Weber. She is preceded in death by parents Andrew Kick and Anna Kick (Nee Bauernfeind), brother George Kick, and brother-in-law Bert Elis. Mary was anxiously awaiting the birth of her first great grandchild, a boy due in March, 2024. "Nancy Trettel, age 92, passed peacefully into heaven on November 23, 2023. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 13505 Excelsior Blvd. , Minnetonka. Visitation will start at 10:00 at the church. A luncheon will follow the service. We find it fitting that Nancy passed away on Thanksgiving Day as many people are thankful for what she meant to their life. Nancy was born March 6, 1931, to Alfred and Julia Cairney. She met her husband, Otto, in 1955 and they were married for 63 years. Nancy dedicated her life to those around her by using her home and food to show love. She was an organizer and accomplished many things with ease including organizing blood drives and neighborhood parties, delivering meals on wheels, being a hospital greeter, and volunteering for countless events. Nancy could often be found at her sewing machine making clothes for her children or knitting everything from Christmas stockings to bedspreads. After having 5 children of her own, she took in foster babies to give them care until they could be adopted. Nancy loved gardening, birds, playing bridge, square dancing, spending time with family, and living out her Christian faith. Although Nancy lived in a body that was failing for over two decades, she continued to dole out wisdom and grace. She will be greatly missed. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Otto, her 5 siblings and infant daughter, Ann Marie. She is survived by her children Mike (Patricia) Trettel, Jean (Mike) Moore, John (Sandy) Trettel, Cathy (Mike) Brennan, and Mary (Brian) Lubinski, 11 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. "Josephine A Parvey 1926-2023 Josephine, known as Joann, by all her friends \u0026amp; family, was born on a small farm in Pine City, MN on May 13, 1936 to Severin \u0026amp; Josephine Wanous. She was preceded in death by her parents Severin \u0026amp; Josephine Wanous; husband Charles Parvey; brother Darwin Wanous; niece Connie Bullen; nephew Randy Van Gieson \u0026amp; brother in law Harley VanGieson. Joann married Charles Parvey in 1953 and they were married for 58 years. They resided in Robbinsdale, MN and had one son, Douglas. They loved traveling in their RV together, camping on the shores and fishing many Minnesota Lakes. She was a master bargain shopper \u0026amp; frequented many local restaurants in Robbinsdale. She loved taking pictures and often had her camera nearly everywhere she went. She took many, many pictures! She spent her entire career working as a teller at TCF in Robbinsdale. She loved her job very much and retired in 2008 when she was 72. Later on, Joann would fall in love with dancing. She frequented the local venue where she loved dancing to her favorite band \u0026quot;Tailspin\u0026quot;. She made many new friends who loved her dearly. She always made sure to attend family functions but would sneak away to make it in time for dancing! Joann will be remembered by the \u0026quot;Lady in Red\u0026quot;, clicking her camera away capturing moments of all her loved ones at family gatherings. She very rarely missed these special moments. Family meant everything to her. Joann went to live with her son Douglas \u0026amp; daughter in law, Dana, in Indian Rocks Beach, FL; where they took care of her during her final chapter. "Gilbert (Gil) Clifford Williams, 87, passed away peacefully on November 22 after a brief illness. After growing up on the family farm, Gil graduated from Pine Island High School. At 18 years old, he traveled to Utah and became an Agent Telegrapher for the railroad. This sparked his interest in transportation and in 1971 Gil became the proud owner of a transportation consulting company and spent the last 52 years growing Williams \u0026amp; Associates into a successful Bloomington business. He was well known for his brilliant business mind and his work ethic and dedication as he continued to work 6 days a week up until his recent hospitalization. Gil has numerous accomplishments including being named Small Business Person of the Year in both Minneapolis and Bloomington, serving locally with the Jaycees, Bloomington Youth Commission, first Chairman of the Bloomington HRA, and the Bloomington School Board. He was President of the Bloomington Community Foundation since 1996 and was recognized by the Bloomington Historical Society as one of Bloomington\u0027s 100 Most Notable Residents. He shared his time and talents with many schools and universities and was a frequent speaker at transportation seminars throughout the country. Gil was proud to serve his country in the US Army and was quickly recognized as a leader and promoted to Seargent First Class. But it was back in school while in the Future Farmers of America that he felt the call to give back to others to make the community stronger. Because of his generosity, he was able to touch countless lives and have a profound impact on the residents and organizations in the city of Bloomington. Gil was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy, parents Clifford and Hulda, sister Marlene, and brother Bill. He is survived by sons Ron (Diana) and Larry (Sharon). Grandchildren Ryan (Charlene), Heather (Dan Bennett), Blake and Shelby. Siblings Chris (Nancy) and Helen Durst. Brother-in-law Jim Esser (Rae) and sisters-in-law Christie Williams and Jeanmarie Esser. Great-Grandchildren Isabelle, Lincoln, Jamison, Winston and Knoxxyn and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by many friends and business associates, including his valued employees and cherished friends at the Minnesota Valley Country Club. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30 from 4-7:00 p. m. at Washburn-McReavy, 2300 W Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington.
