"Sally A. Manes, 87, of Huntington, passed away peacefully at 7:40 am Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, IN. Sally was born on March 1, 1936, in Huntington, IN, the daughter of the late Ralph “Bill” Hosler and Lucille (Gentry) Hosler. After her parents passed away, Sally was blessed to be raised by her Great Aunt Edna and Great Uncle Glenn Jordan. She graduated from Huntington High School with the class of 1954 and later continued her education at Huntington College where she received a bachelor’s degree in education. Years later she earned a master’s degree in education from St. Francis College in Fort Wayne. Sally married the love of her life Kenneth W. Manes on December 10, 1955, in Huntington. They shared 53 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 24, 2009. Sally worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Company before starting her career in teaching. While employed through Huntington County School Corporation for many years, she taught at Northwest, Central, and Andrews elementaries. After retirement she volunteered at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Sally was a faithful member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Huntington. She also was a member of Psi lota Xi sorority, Book Club, LaFontaine Arts Council, Huntington Women’s Club, Retired Teachers Club and served on the board for FOL. Sally, more than anything, wanted to make a difference in the world and that is why she became a teacher. Sally wanted to inspire young people while teaching from her heart. Although teaching was her passion and a large part of her life, she also felt it was very important to give back to the community. Her outgoing personality and encouragement to others made her a vital part of Huntington County. Sally was an avid reader and a little bit of a social butterfly. She loved visiting the beaches in North Carolina with her husband and having a glass of wine with friends. Sally was a wonderful mother, devoted wife, and a great protective big sister to her brother Scott. She adored her grandchildren and always loved spending time with them. Sally is survived by her loving family, Son, Tony S. Manes of Littleton, CO; Daughter, Julie A. Crain of Huntington, IN; Brother, Scott (Madonna) Hosler of Huntington, IN; Five Grandchildren, Cassandra, Michael (Sarah), JD (Hannah), Megan (Nathaniel), Colleen (Adam); and Four Great Grandchildren, Ethan, Maddy, Parker, Chloe. She is preceded in death by her Father, Ralph “Bill” Hosler, Mother, Lucille Hosler, Great Aunt, Edna Jordan, Great Uncle, Glenn Jordan, Husband, Kenneth Wayne Manes, Granddaughter, Emma Kocher and Son-in-law, Charles “Charlie” Crain. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Steven M. “PJ” Perry Jr, 27, of Fort Wayne passed away on February 26, 2024, at Lutheran Downtown Hospital. Steven was born on June 15, 1996 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to his Parents Steven M. Perry SR (Shannon Ecenbarger) and Kimberly (Davis) Kendall (Rodney Kendall). Steven attended Northrop High School and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years. Steven is survived by his adorable children Olivia M. Perry and Steven M. Perry III, his Amazing Brother Seth M. Perry (Zoe Perry), and his loving Paternal Grandmother Susan R. Perry. Steven was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents Wanda Woods and Jerry Davis and his Paternal Grandfather Steven R. Perry. Steven was definitely a one of a kind young man and anyone that had the privilege of knowing Steven will always remember his contagious smile and laugh. April Nina Sears (Todd) born January 31st of 1978 in California to Caroline Bonilla and Laverne “Sugar” Cook has passed away on February 28th, 2024. She spent her childhood in California and raised her family in Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents Caroline Bonilla, and Sugar Cook, her brothers Aaron and Austin Cook and her sister Rose Cook. She is survived by her three children, Asia (Fredrick) Ridley, Zoey (Travis) Rogers, and Alex Sears, her siblings Joseph (Rickie) Cook, and Veronica Cook, her grandchildren Faith Ridley, Grace Ridley, Hope Ridley, Oliver Rogers, Fredrick “JR” Ridley, Rai’lah McQueen (Sears), her cat Axel, and a hostess of nieces, nephews and family and friends. April lived a full, and adventurous life. April was known for being beautiful, smart, resourceful and funny. The most fulfillment she had was in raising her children and being a grandmother. She enjoyed grooming and caring for animals and working with children. April was a member of her church and dedicated her life to God. She was well known for lighting up a room with her infectious laughter, and her energetic personality. She loved to sing, dance and enjoyed being a confidant to many. Mary Ellen Nolte was born on March 23, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Helen and Richard Bleich. She grew up in Omaha and attended Duchesne Academy for high school. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Math from the University of Nebraska. She was married in 1980 to Joseph H. Nolte, originally from Seneca, Kansas. Mary Ellen and Joe enjoyed 43 years of a fulfilling and happy marriage. They met in Independence, Missouri and then lived in St. Louis until Joe’s job took them to Fort Wayne where they settled long-term. Mary Ellen taught math at IPFW for her local career and enjoyed hand smocking, reading and staying in touch with many friends and her sisters. Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, Joe Nolte and her 3 children, Ann Settgast (Steve Dziedzic) of Minneapolis, and Susan Geels (Zac Cook) and David Nolte (Sara Beining), all of Fort Wayne. She will also be missed by her loving grandchildren, Daniel Geels, Jocelyn Wallace, Gabriel, Morgan Nolte all of Fort Wayne, Nora and Hugh Dziedzic of Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 1101 Lafayette St. with calling one hour prior. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2023. Beth retired as Bookkeeper at Angola Lumber after 29 years of service. She was a member of Angola Hillcrest Bible Church. Survivors include her children, Jody (Angel) Cartwright of Hamilton, Indiana, Christopher (Jessica) Cartwright of Angola, Indiana, and Amanda (Spencer) Atkins of Fort Wayne, Indiana, 14 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, a brother, Steve (Linda) Winchester of Saint Robert, Missouri, and sisters, Diane Winchester of Mansfield, Ohio, Gale (Dennis) McMillen of Mansfield, Ohio, and Sue (Mike) Hephner of Angola, Indiana. Carl Henry Kolb, 68, of Ft. Wayne, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a short hospitalization. surrounded by his loving family after a short hospitalization. Carl was born on June 27, 1955, to Richard and Martha Kolb in Detroit, MI. He loved sports, summers at Burt Lake and Lake George. He graduated from Carroll High School and married Kathy, who he met at his first job at Bill Knapps. They were ecstatic to welcome their son, Christopher. As they started their busy family life of soccer and using Marriott reward miles (gotta use them!) for tropical vacations, Carl finished his bachelor's degree in business at IPFW. Carl built his 47-year career in commercial sales in HVAC at Wayne Pump, Masters Heating and Cooling, Thermo Tech Sales and R.E. Michel Company. Carl strongly valued his relationships with family, friends, and clients. He was well loved by all who met him, for his keen sense of humor and truly kind heart. He organized weekend golf outings, football pools, and endless cookouts (for which he was well known and quite accomplished). He was a member of the Elks and bowled in their league for many years. Carl was loving and generous to friends and family, and was always willing to lend a hand. He was consistently present for his in-laws, father, and grandmother as they aged. Carl was married to Debbie Todoran and they spent 20 wonderful years together. Debbie was devoted and by his side through health challenges the past few years. They loved to travel to warm climates and visit family. Carl is survived by his wife Debbie; son Christopher (Heather); siblings Jackie and John (Amy); nephews Bryan (Lori) and Lucas and niece Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Scott. A celebration of life will be on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11:00 am at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825) with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Fort Wayne or Best Friends Animal Society.

Norma Yvonne Clark Jerraid, 89, of Fort Wayne, peacefully passed away on February 23, 2024. She was a housewife, devoted to her husband Jack for sixty-eight years, marrying on Valentine's Day in 1953 and also devoted to her children. Transitioning from Whitley County to Fort Wayne, Norma worked part-time some of the years, enjoyed playing cards, reading, doing puzzles, square dancing, church, home economics clubs, and cooking. She was renowned as a master apple pie baker, loved music, birdwatching, and her family which all made her smile beautifully. She is survived by her four children; Jerri Lerch (Steve), Jone Jerraid, Janice Jerraid-White, and John Jerraid (Joanna); nine grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. Her late husband, Jack, predeceased her in 2021. A Family and Friends Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Fairhaven Funeral Home. Norma’s preferred memorials are to the Allen County Public Library Foundation.
