Sue Napolitano

Sue Napolitano

Age - 59

December 8, 2023

Sue Napolitano, nee Gosda, 59 years old of Bloomington, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, December 1st 2023. Sue was born in Lincoln, Illinois on February 27th, 1964. Sue met the love of her life Neil Napolitano and was married on October 5th, 1996. Talk about a fairy tale marriage…. This was it. Pick any aspect of her life and you will quickly see her most important possession was her love and adoration for Neil. They set a wonderful example to their large families around them of what it meant to love undoubtedly and unconditionally. There was nothing that could get in the way of this bond. Sue saw the beauty in everyone’s imperfections. Her smile was contagious and you always found yourself thanking the universe for her. Sue was a Mother, and a perfect one to say the least. Sue is the Wife & Soulmate of Neil Napolitano; happily married for 27 years. Loving mother of Severino, Matthew (Kayla), and Michael Napolitano. Adored Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Cherished daughter of Mary Gosda, preceded in death by her father Ralph Gosda. Sister of Ruth (Jeff), Richard Gosda (Allison) Roger Gosda (Sally). The best Sister-in-law of Theodore (Joanne) Cucci, and Cindy Napolitano. Fond Daughter-in-law of Rita Napolitano. A Legacy is a term today that tends to be abundantly overused, and seems that everything and everyone has to have one but with Sue she left behind a legacy that will be carried through generations moving forward especially through her children. A mother’s love for her children is like nothing else in the universe. It knows no law, no pity. It dares all things and crushes down remorselessly any and everything in its path. Her Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington with Pastor Chuck Bahn officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a. m. until the time of the service at church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home is assisting the family with arrangements.Show more

Reda Ardys

Reda Ardys

Age - 94

December 7, 2023

Reda Marija Valteryte - Ardiene was born on August 3, 1929 in Kaunas, Lithuania. She escaped from Lithuania with her mother, Elena Valteriene , in June 1944. as soon as the Russian Communists occupied Lithuania. Only through the will of God, she met her beloved father, Captain (Major in absentia) Vincas Valteris, running west. That's how the family stuck together and spent the post-war years in the Ravensburg Displaced Person camp, Germany. She came to the USA, Waterbury, Connecticut in 1949 and graduated from Post Junior College with a major in accounting. In Waterbury, she met Juozas Ardys, and they married on June 9, 1956. With her best friend, she traveled to various cities in the USA with Juozas' work at GE Company. Meanwhile, three girls were born, each in a different state. A favorite place to live was Cherry Hill, New Jersey near the city of Philadelphia. Reda taught for several years at the Vinco Kreve Lithuanian school. Not only did she teach, but she was also the head of the school for several years until the time when she had to move again. This time they went to Bloomington, Illinois. Despite the long drive to Lemont, Illinois (2 1/2 hours), she still traveled to the Maironio School to teach. She often traveled to the Lithuanian Youth Center of Chicago for events and to take her daughters to the Pedagogical Institute. They had to move again to Erie, Pennsylvania. Since she was used to traveling, the distance between Cleveland and Erie did not frighten her! Only 1 1/2 hours! And so they stayed in Erie-Fairview, even in retirement. When her beloved husband died in 2016, Reda sold her house and moved into Indre's house and then into Rasa's house until her death. Her family mourn Reda's passing. Three daughters, Rasa Marija (Juozas) Juska, Reda Elena (Ramutis) Pliura, and Indre Anele (Ted) Howell are left to mourn. Grandchildren, aa Kovas Juska, Aistis (Daiva) Juska, Audra (Brian) Jansen, Skaida Pliura, Anele (Adam) Esterle, Asta (Adam) Prtenjak, and Amelia (Brian) Bassett. Great-grandchildren, Gabia, Gilia, Ginta, Kovas, Gintas, Joy, Remis, Jonah, Jurgis, Noel, Andrejus, and recently born, Elias.Show more
