She then went on to work many years at Travelers Insurance in Hartford, CT as an Accounts Payable Clerk. Pat was an avid reader, lover of all animals and found great peace and happiness in her garden. Summer was not only her favorite season because of gardening, but she was found most days laying by the pool or oceanside where she found tranquility. Nancy Zadronzy

Nancy Zadronzy

Age - 61

November 22, 2023

Nancy Pouliot Zadronzy Our beloved sister, aunt, friend and cousin left this earthly plane way too soon. She passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023 surrounded by love, laughter and hope. Family members were present to hold her hands and guide her to her next journey. While we were saying goodbye, I am sure my mom and dad and all that have gone before her were waiting for her at Heaven's unlocked gates, beckoning her to move forward. What a glorious reunion! Born to the wedded union of Dorothy (Taylor) and George (Joseph) Pouliot on August 25, 1962, she was the first of three daughters, she was always the "big" sister and relished that role until the end. She attended local schools and held several customer service jobs which she worked at until a couple weeks before her untimely passing. She was a great lover of animals, doggos in particular. She had many over the years and I am sure all of you know of her beloved Woody. He is laying on my bed as I write this. That is the very first thing she said to me when we heard from the doctors how sick she really was. . . . . . . . . . . . "Please take care of Woody for me. I have to know he will be OK. " I promised her I would and I will, it is one of the very last things I can do for her. When she left our home on October 14th I don't think either one of us thought she would never come back. Fortunately the rehab she went to allowed us to bring him there and they get to spend a lot of time together. She leaves many to mourn her passing, including her beloved family members, Carol, Lisa, Jason, Amy, Kaleb, Justin, Ryan, Kaylee, Maggie, Mike and Cara. She was predeceased by her ex husband Michal Zadrozny with whom she remained on friendly terms. She also leaves many relatives and friends far and wide. If there is anything I have learned from this unpleasant and unexpected journey (this is definitely not how I wish to express this but I decided to use my manners as I have been taught) is that time waits for no one. I am sure I can speak for all family members, well, I am going to anyway. I am not even sure we have processed how sick she was and now she is gone. She was ok and then she was not. We are all guilty of putting things off until tomorrow. Some lessons are learned the hard way. Sometimes there are no more tomorrows. A Celebration of Life will be held in Coventry as a nod to familial roots on December 3, 2023 from 2 PM to 5 PM, Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Turnpike #1005, Coventry, CT 06238. Please feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in, we plan on having a memory jar, if you like you can write down a favorite memory and leave it with her. Please, no flowers. If you feel the need to donate somewhere in her memory, American Cancer Society or any animal shelter local to your area would be amazing. Evelyn Luginbuhl

Evelyn Luginbuhl

Age - 95

November 15, 2023

Evelyn (Lanz) Luginbuhl "Ev", 95 of Ellington, beloved wife of the late Rudolph E. Luginbuhl passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, November 11, 2023. She was born May 13, 1928 in Manchester, Connecticut to the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Mueller) Lanz. She was predeceased by her brother E. Robert Lanz. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and is survived by her children: Peggy Bernier and her husband Kenneth of Eastford, CT, Judith Stoller and her husband Lester of Middlebury, IN, David R Luginbuhl and his wife Lynne of Ellington, CT, and Donna Person and her husband Peter of Stafford, CT. Her grandchildren: Ivy and her husband James, Justin, Kari-Lynne and her husband Jon, Nathaniel and his wife Sarah, Jonathan and his wife Tori, Erik and his wife Jenna, Aron, Emily, Hannah and her husband David, and Anneliese. And her great grandchildren: Niall, Daniel & James; Kellan & Jacey Mae; Emma & Jacob. We are also grateful for her long time caregiver Wendy, and more recently Cherryl, for their patient and loving care of mom to the end. Evelyn treasured many fond memories from her younger years spent in her Uncle Paul & Aunt Bertha's loving home, with cousins Florence, Charlotte, and Alma. It was through them she was introduced to the Apostolic Christian Church family, met the love of her life Rudy, and ultimately, came to know her Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith remained strong to the end, even as her earthly body failed, and she never ceased to pray for her loved ones, as she looked forward with great expectation to being reunited with dear family and friends in heaven. One of Evelyn's greatest joys in life was found in serving and spending time with her family, including ensuring that her family sat together for at least two homemade meals a day. She, and Rudy, loved tending their prolific garden and she maintained a warm and hospitable home -- many friends and neighbors fondly remember her open door and open heart, as well as her witty sense of humor, which stayed with her until the end. Her genuine hospitality even carried over into a gradual acceptance - dare we say affection for? - the menagerie of wild and domestic creatures that seemed to follow her children home! Evelyn was a life-long learner, mastering a variety of domestic and home improvement skills, and like Rudy, she sought to use every minute to its fullest. Yet, together, they made time to create a legacy of wonderful memories, including beautiful family vacations and endless summer days at their "Cape" cottage with children and grand children - and now even their great-grandchildren can enjoy. Out of all of her many roles, being "Grammy" was one of Evelyn's favorites. All of her grandchildren have countless dear memories of being at Grammy's house -- full of hugs, snacks, and a well-stocked cookie jar and candy bowl. She enjoyed celebrating all of her grandchildren's accomplishments and was their number-one supporter at every recital and event. In addition to serving her family and church, Evelyn was a firm believer in community service and civic involvement. She devoted years of her life to volunteer work, including: the Red Cross, Parent-Teacher Organization, registrar of voters, the Ellington Housing authority and short term mission projects, to name a few. She also dedicated many years to caring for elderly relatives and friends in need. A family friend felt that Prov 31: 25-28 spoke of mom, and we agree! Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she shall rejoice in the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Relatives and friends may join the family for Visitation on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00pm at the Apostolic Christian Church (not fellowship hall) 34 Middle Butcher Road, Ellington, CT 06029. A Funeral Service will take place at 10:15 am on Monday, November 20th, also at the church. Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington, CT.
