Larrain Denee Osborn, 21, of Philo, Ohio gained eternal peace on Sunday, September 3, 2023. She was born May 25, 2002 in Zanesville, daughter of Anthony S. Osborn and Amanda Jo Swiney. Larrain is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ruth and Tom Swiney; paternal grandfather, Russel D. Osborn; grandfather, Roger Holland; cousins, Brandon Holland and Devin Snack; friend, Wyatt Lee Ehrnfield; beloved pet dog, Buddy Osborn; and beloved pet cat, Todd Davis. Larrain leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Amanda Jo Swiney; father, Anthony Scott Osborn; sisters, Aliyah and Destiny Osborn; grandparents, Larry and Sherry Davis, Joe Swiney, Sue Swiney and Brenda Douglas; many aunts and uncles; several cousins; best friend, Alisha Jones; boyfriend, Jayden Curtis; Godson, Miles McFarland; mother figures, Jennifer Lanier, Carly Jackson, and Taisha Hina; beloved dog, Lexy Davis; and a host of other family members and many friends. Larrain was a graduate of Philo High School. She was currently attending Ohio State School of Cosmetology where she was studying to become a nail technician. She was also an employee of Buffalo Wild Wings where she worked as a waitress. Larrain previously dedicated employment to Fanatics where she worked as an ambassador. Larrain possessed a strong, old soul. She never hesitated to express her love or tell it like it is. Larrain always took care of her younger sisters. She loved her animals. Larrain was the sweetest, most talented young woman. Her presence lit up the entire world and she exuded the energy of an angel. "I'm f---ing crazy, but I'm free" - Lana Del Rey Larrain will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Per the family's wishes, cremation has been chosen. A memorial service in Larrain's honor will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 from 4 p. m. until 8 p. m. , at the United Methodist Church, 296 Main St. , in Duncan Falls, Ohio. Arthur "Bugsy" Elmus Settles Jr. , 75, of Philo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Home. Arthur was born November 23, 1947, son of the late Arthur Elmus Settles Sr. and Dorthy Louise Grable. In addition to his parents, Arthur is also preceded in death by his siblings; Robert Settles and Wanda Settles. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory, his children; Matthew Settles and Elizabeth (Phillip) White; grandchildren, Gabriel White, Makenzie White, Jakkob White, Jovino Settles, Jeovani Settles and Javien Settles; his sisters, Debbie Haper and Nancy Heeter, as well as several other friends and family. Arthur, known by many as Bugsy, was an avid golfer, spending almost every weekend on the golf course. He also enjoyed bowling and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes. Arthur loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He worked for MPW for over 30 years and also was a bartender for many years. Cremation has been chosen. , 91 of Philo, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on March 6, 2023, at his residence. He was born on May 27, 1931, in Zanesville, Ohio son of the late Albert Jenkins and Mamie Hern. Dale was a member of the Duncan Falls Baptist Church and a member of the Eagles #302. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to play Euchre. He is survived by his daughters, Karen (Mike) Snyder, Carole (John) Miller, Sherry Jenkins; grandchildren, Angie, Robby, Billy, Donna, Julie, Dale, Justin, Kaylee; several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Jenkins; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth (Jones) Jenkins; sons, William Jenkins, Robert Jenkins; grandson, Rusty Mick; brothers, Winston Romine, Talford Romine, Curtis Martin; sisters, Ida Martin, and Berniece Benjamin. Calling hours will be held on Friday March 10, 2023, from 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday March 10, 2023, at 3:30 PM with Pastor Gerry Wade officiating. Burial will follow services at Duncan Falls Cemetery. Mrs. Betty Jane Maerker, age 92, of Raleigh, NC, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at her residence. She was born December 29, 1929, in Philo, Ohio, daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Fitch. Betty was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 52 years, Straud Maerker, and is survived by two daughters: Greta (Forbes) Jamieson and Gretchen (Roger) Adema; and fourgrandchildren: Elizabeth (Stephen) Louws, Hillary (Andrew) Prusik, Dean Adema, and Jen Adema. Betty had a long and beautiful time here on Earth. She grew up as a farm girl in McConnelsville, Ohio, and chose to attend Ohio State where she met the love of her life. Her primary vocation as a teacher allowed her to touch many lives in Coshocton, Ohio. Retirement included a second career in real estate, many rounds of golf, and treasured time with children and grandchildren. Betty's nature was to be kind and thoughtful of others, and this was evident through her final days. There will be a private family time of remembrance and sharing. Those who knew Betty are encouraged to share memories with her family and/or mutual friends. As a teacher, Betty helped many children with basic needs. Rita Louise Weaver, 81, of Philo, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022. Rita was born February 2, 1940 to the late Robert P. and Margaret E. (Farquhar) Weaver. In addition to her parents, Rita is also preceded in death by her beloved son, Raymond Robert Miles, Jr. ; and a brother, Larry Weaver. Rita leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved children, Rena (Dave) Ridenour, Renetta Miles and Raeanna (Tim) Miles; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Barb Burke, Polly Martin, Jeanette Arbuckle and Sandy Wiseman; as well as other relatives and friends. Rita was an avid traveler. She had 'wheels on her feet' and enjoyed moving around to various places. Rita was very adamant about a task being completed fully and correctly. There are many ways to do something, but Rita was not shy about letting you know that only her way was the correct way. She was a mother, who left her legacy in the life lessons she taught her children. She is sure to be missed. Leeann Bauer age 39 of Philo, Ohio was surrounded by family when she went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2021. She was born September 10, 1982 in Zanesville Ohio. She is proceeded in death by father Rodney Walton and great grandmother Wanda G. McCarty who she missed dearly. She is survived by her loving husband Brad Beers, two sons Christian & Cayden Bauer, her mother Connie Miller and special friend Michael Murphy, sister Amy Ditter and nieces Sarah & Aubrey Ditter. She was greatly loved and deeply cared for many family members and high-school friend Jill Robertson. Leeann was devoted to her pets, a homemaker who loved to cook, craft, and celebrate every holiday to the fullest. Her time with us will be cherished and celebrated! Timothy R. "Piggy" Mayle,63, of Philo, Ohio was called home, Friday, October 18, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Tim was born May 19, 1956 to the late Harley C. and Francis I. (Croston) Mayle. In addition to his parents, Tim is also preceded in death by sisters, Julia A. Mayle and Roberta "June" Jones; brothers, Thomas R. Mayle, and Elbert H. Mayle; and beloved grandson, Timothy R. Mayle. Timothy leaves to mourn his passing, his loving and dedicated wife of 28 years, Vicki L. Mayle; three daughters, Jennifer Jackson, Jessica (Nick) McLendon, and Brittany May; a son, Timothy "Ryan" Mayle; a sister, Beverly Borges; two brothers, Lewis (Pam) Mayle and Victor (Teresa) Mayle; 11 grandchildren, Tre, Olivia, Lamia, Timia, Thomas, Mier, Timmara, Taylor, Megan, Molly and Ta'vean; three great-grandchildren, Gracie, King and Timothy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends. Timothy gave 21 years of dedicated service to United Technologies. He then went on to work for Shelly & Sands driving concrete trucks. Tim was a former member of The Only Ones M.C.C. In his free time, you might find Tim outdoors fishing, at an auction, or playing cards with friends and family. He will be deeply missed by many.
