Laquita King Obituary

Mrs. Laquita Normeice (Smith) King, 81, of Birch Tree, Missouri, formerly of Harrisburg, departed this life on September 26, 2023 after a short illness. She was born in Trumann, Arkansas on November 17, 1941 to John T. and Dora Faye (Canimore) Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Claudie Carl King. She is survived by her son, Michael (Tralice) King of New Orleans, LA, her daughter, Kem (Don) Ducote of Covington, LA, three grandchildren: Maggie (Ray) of Covington, LA, Christie (Nick) of College Station, Texas, and Allison of Covington, LA, and three great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Millie, and Eleanor, one brother, Jerry (Mabel) Smith of Cherry Valley, AR and one sister, Donna (Lenny) Holliday of Cherry Valley, AR and one special friend, Earlene of Birch Tree, MO. Laquita loved to volunteer at the food pantry and local nursing homes. She was an avid gardener and loved to cook, can and preserve food. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 4:00 P. M. with visitation starting at 3:00 P. M. at Jackson's Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Jackson's Funeral Home.
