Carol Mathilda (Huxel) Sieve Carol Sieve will always be remembered as a kind, caring and dedicated person. In her 80 years, Carol lived a full life: taking on adventures with her husband, contributing to the community, and making beautiful memories with her family and friends. Born November 29, 1942 in Washington, Missouri to parents, Paul Joseph Huxel and Hilda (Maune) Huxel. As the daughter of a farmer, she knew the value of hard work and brought that work ethic to her career in banking and insurance. Her mother suffered a stroke when Carol was in high school. This life altering event provided Carol with a foundation of caring for others. At St. Francis Borgia High School, Carol played the saxophone in the band and enjoyed many clubs and activities. One of those activities was a business skills class that led to her first job at the community bank. High school also introduced her to the man with whom she would spend the rest of her life. On December 28, 1963, she married Kenneth "Ken" Sieve and left home, spending several years supporting his goal of becoming a professor. In July of 1965, she gave birth to their only child, Kurt, and the adventure continued. After moves that included Wisconsin and Oklahoma, the family settled in Fresno, and Carol found work at Wells Fargo Bank in Old Town Clovis. With a change in Ken's career in 1974, they found the place that was perfect for them, Sanger, Ca. Carol soon joined Ken in their State Farm office, and for 48 years, served the community and helped people feel good about insurance. As a team, they participated in the Sanger Chamber of Commerce and Sanger Rotary, culminating in their selection as the 2014 Grand Marshals of the Sanger Toyland Parade. Carol loved cheering on her basketball teams: the Golden State Warriors and the Fresno State Bulldogs. She was a wonderful host and insisted on making all holiday meals and having the celebrations at her home. She participated in community sororities and served as an active, devout member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Carol and Ken enjoyed volleyball and bowling, and their passion for travel allowed them to see the world, but they were always happy golfing on the central coast. Dancing was their favorite exercise, with people often commenting on their style and elegance. Carol was most proud of her grandchildren, Matthew, Brooke and John. She took every opportunity to be with them and witness their growth and success. She witnessed all their college graduations and made a point of teaching life skills and the joy of competition through exciting games and difficult puzzles, best exemplified by her viciousness on the UNO playfield! Carol's compassionate nature was on full display when Ken battled health issues. In 2016, her focus changed to providing care and support for him till his death in August 2022. With the love of her life gone, she mourned with a broken heart and was diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2023. She fought hard but succumbed to the disease on October 31, 2023. Carol will now be reunited with Ken at the Sanger Cemetery. Preceded in death by her parents, brother John Huxel and sister Delores Peters, Carol is survived by her sisters Marlene Tobben and Barbara Haley, and her brother Terry Huxel. Her son, Kurt, his wife Mary along with their children Matthew, Brooke and John will preserve her memory for generations to come. Carol had the love of many nieces, nephews, in-laws and of course, friends, teammates and customers whom she loved in return. Her smile and her grace will never be forgotten.
