Billy Ray Couts, age 91, died February 18, 2024 after a short illness. He was born March 23, 1932 in Pink, Oklahoma to Eugene and Lillie Mae (Hollenbeck) Couts. Bill grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School and later attended Oklahoma City University where he earned a scholarship to play his favorite sport of basketball.Bill was a plumber by trade, learning the craft from his parents at Couts Plumbing before venturing out on his own and starting Couts Mechanical Company.Bill loved many things, but his first love was his wife of almost 74 years Olive Crouch Couts. He loved his family, Chisholm Heights Baptist Church, and the game of basketball. If you were tall, you inevitably were asked if you played the game.He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Couts Bassett. Bill is survived by his loving wife Olive, his two children; Bill Couts Jr. and wife Ruth and Karon Robinson and husband Mike, six grandchildren; Anne Breeden and husband Mark, Joshua Couts, Skye Owen and husband Tyler, Denvre Couts-Hitchman, Alex Robinson and Nicholas Robinson. He was blessed with eight great-grandchildren as well as the presence of his little brother Dewayne whom he relied on for companionship and guidance in recent months.Graveside services will be Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:00am at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City with the funeral service to follow at 11:30am at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church, Mustang, Oklahoma.

"Bonnie Ellen Warren was born on November 23, 1950 to George and Edith Havener of El Reno, Oklahoma and died on February 16, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bonnie grew up in El Reno with her parents and was the oldest of six children. She spent much of her youth working on her family property, helping to tend to her 2 brothers and 3 sisters after studying. After Bonnie graduated from El Reno High School, she went to work at Hensley’s Restaurant as a waitress. She worked at Hensley’s until it closed in the early 2000s and then following her love of the food service industry worked for Denny’s restaurant and McDonald’s. Whether you were a local coffee drinker in the café at Hensley’s, a family enjoying your usual Sunday meal or later just popping in to get a Big Mac, Bonnie would greet you by name and make sure your order was served exactly how you wanted it. Bonnie met James (Jim) Warren of Muskogee while working at Hensley’s and they were married on January 15, 1974. Bonnie had a fervent relationship with the Lord and was often praying for people or passing along literature about God to those around her. Bonnie and Jim enjoyed taking road trips and would often be known to hit the road to catch a professional baseball game in Kansas or Texas or a state or national park in another surrounding state. When they weren’t traveling, Bonnie enjoyed watching professional wrestling and sewing. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Edith Havener. She is survived by her husband, Jim Warren or El Reno, her siblings (in order) Harry Havener and wife Clara of El Reno, Mary Niles and husband Don of Seguine, Texas, Peggy Mason and husband Larry of El Reno, Jimmy Havener and partner Wayne Heidelberg of Calumet, and Betty McNulty and husband Gerald of Ft. Cobb, 13 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:30 am at the First Christian Church of El Reno located at 400 S. Barker Avenue. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of El Reno."

Monroe Lee Simons of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born in Altus, Oklahoma, on January 11, 1946, the son of David Simons and Nettie May (Locke) Rodgers, both of whom preceded Monroe in death. He is also preceded by two sisters, Bonnie Thompson, and Brenda Jean Foster, and his grandfather, Monroe Locke. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joyce Simons; children David Simons and daughter-in-law Lori, and Diane Carpenter and son-in-law James; six grandchildren, Shelby Simons, Tyler Stone and his wife Amy, Matthew Stone, Kelsi Stone, Derek Carpenter and his wife Katy, and Cody Carpenter; five great-grandchildren, Natalie Stone, Karson Foran, Emma Foran, Hadley Carpenter, and Mitchell Carpenter. Monroe is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Burley and brother-in-law James, and Betty Rodgers, his brother, Bill Rodgers and sister-in-law Etta, and many more loving family members and friends. Monroe served his country in the United States Army, spending most of his military career working as a mechanic in Korea. Following an honorable discharge from the Army, he went into the grocery industry, working for Scrivner/Flemming Foods for over 20 years. He later went to work for Crest Foods, retiring with the title of HR Coordinator. Monroe loved being outside and spent much of his time working outdoors. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending his time fishing, camping, traveling, and being with the people he loved. Deborah “Debbie” Lynn (Coonce) Keen, 70, of Oklahoma City, died Friday, February 16, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The daughter of Walter Daniel Coonce and Marie Josephine (Levandoski) Davis, she was born November 23, 1953, in Youngstown, Ohio. Debbie married Curtis Ray Keen and they were together for 22 years until his death in 2004. She worked for many years as a waitress in the restaurant business. In her spare time, she loved working crossword puzzles and was an avid bingo player. Her daughter, Christina, and brother, Danny, said they could always count on her to give them a call with a daily rundown of all the shows playing on television that day. She was their personal tv guide. Debbie had a kind-hearted and generous spirit and enjoyed helping others. She had a great sense of humor and was always joking with people. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed her times together with them. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Ray Keen; a sister, Betty Mae; and a daughter, Belinda. Debbie is survived by one daughter, Christina Burton and her husband, Jeremy; her grandchildren, Cheyenne Burton and Dustin “Bubba” Burton; one brother, Danny Coonce and his wife, Brenda; nieces and nephews, Crystal, Angela, Mona, Jason, Jerry, Jeff, and Junior; and many other loved ones and friends.
