Kris Wayne Klitzke, age 62, died on September 9, 2023, at HaysMed Hospital in Hays, Kansas, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 25, 1960, in Ness City, Kansas, the son of Chester and Carol (Wood) Klitzke. Kris worked in the oil field industry as a pumper until he retired in 2022, and even continued to work the industry after he was retired. Kris loved to camp at Cedar Bluff Reservoir, where he would spend his weekends fishing and boating. When he wasn't at the lake, he enjoyed watching Westerns or "Gold Rush," scratching lottery tickets, or playing slots at the casino. But more than anything, Kris enjoyed being with his family. On October 8, 1983, Kris married Coral Martin. To this union, two daughters were born, Morgan Klitzke of Olathe, KS, and Courtney Klitzke of Kansas City, KS. They were later divorced. He then married Denise Robbins on September 23, 1995. Two boys were born through this marriage, Kale Klitzke of Granite Falls, WA, and Kolt Klitzke (Makenzie Eck) of Ness City, KS. Denise died on June 26, 2006. On December 1, 2007, he married Susan Bean-Rupp. Two stepdaughters were brought into this marriage, April Rupp of Ransom, KS, and Katie Ray (Doug) of Pratt, KS. Kris is survived by his wife Susan and his mother Carol, both of Ness City, KS, along with his two daughters, two sons, and two stepdaughters. He is also survived by his brothers, Kevin Klitzke (Cora) of Shreveport, LA, and Kent Klitzke (Terri) of Benton City, WA; sisters, Louella Slater (John) of Amarillo, TX, and Kim Davis (Ron) of Camano Island, WA; five grandchildren, Shelby Rupp (Lance), Dylan and Thomas Fehrenbach, Jayven and Kamden Teets; mother-in-law, Penny Foulke; father-in-law, Jerry Foulke; sisters-in-law, Michell Wall (Randy), Amy Stoecklein (Kevin), and Jill Keller; and brother-in-law Troy Bean (Katie); his fur babies, Chester, Gabbie, and Banjo, and many nieces and nephews. Kris was preceded in death by his father, Chester; father-in-law, Robert Bean, and brother-in-law, Kevin Foulke. Cremation has taken place & a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Neil A. Nulton, 85, Wichita, died peacefully on December 2, 2023. He was born October 9, 1938, in Hays, Kansas to Ralph and Lorena Akers Nulton. He was a graduate of Hays High School. After graduation he served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carriers USS Randolph, Roosevelt, and Intrepid as well as duty assignments at various shore stations. Neil married JoAnn Staab on April 22, 1961, in Hays. He earned degrees related to the arts from Fort Hays University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Wichita State University. While attending Fort Hays Neil was honored to be listed in Who's Who In American Colleges and Universities. After completing his education, he relocated his family to the Branson, Missouri area where he opened a pottery business, and developed an arts and crafts program to train potters, jewelers, painters, print makers, etc. for vocational technical schools. He taught art and coached golf at Reeds Spring High School. After a teaching career of 25 years he retired and moved to Wichita. Upon retirement, he drew on his art background to develop skills in creating nature related sculpture of mixed media with emphasis in woodcarving. Neil has participated in numerous competitions, gaining recognition throughout the Midwest. Survivors include his daughter, Kim Clothier and her husband, Shawn Hatfield; a sister, Nancy Schukman; two granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. Neil was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, JoAnn; daughter, Nikki; and brother, Bruce. In consideration of Neil's preference for privacy, there will not be any services or memorials. Harvey F. Munsch Harvey F. Munsch, 74, Hays, died Thursday, November 30, 2023 at HaysMed. He was born July 17, 1949 in Hays, the son of Edwin and Albertine (Kuhn) Munsch. In 1967, he graduated from St. Joseph's Military Academy. He was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. On February 16, 1973, he was united in marriage to Cindy Braun at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Harvey was a construction superintendent, working for Pierce Schippers Construction and CV Cale Construction. He was a member of the St. Anthony Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council #4166 in Schoenchen and a KU Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Harvey enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, golfing, and being outdoors. He never knew a stranger, welcomed everyone with a smile and "hi", and was always helping others. He had so much love for his family and relished every opportunity to attend his grandchildren's sporting events. Survivors include his wife Cindy of the home, three daughters, Heather Kaiser and husband Tyler of Hays, Mandy Tepper and husband Ari of Aurora, CO, and Tamara Akers and husband Michael of Argyle, TX, three brothers, Victor Munsch and wife Joyce of Hays, Clarence Munsch and wife Pat of Prairie Village, and Edwin Munsch, Jr. of Hays, three sisters, Shirley Huff of Lindsborg, Janice Cheek and husband David of Overland Park, and Agnes Myovela of Wichita, six grandchildren, Lincoln Ector and wife Brandy, Taylon Kaiser, Nolan and Briana Tepper, Eddie and Zack Akers, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Patricia Applegate and Elizabeth "Elsie" Hendrickson. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Daise officiating. Burial with military honors by the Hays VFW Post #9076 will follow in St. Fidelis Cemetery in Victoria. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Monday at St. Joseph Church and from 9:00 am until 9:45 on Tuesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Vera K. Deines Vera K. Deines, 79, Hays, died Monday, November 13, 2023 at Hays Good Samaritan Society. She was born September 21, 1944 in Hays, the daughter of Johnie and Matilda (Tegtmeyer) McCoy. In 1962, she graduated from Trego High School and on August 4, 1963, she was united in marriage to Donald D. "Don" Deines in Trego Center, and they were blessed with 52 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 4, 2016. Vera sold Avon for many years, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she also helped with funeral dinners. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, shopping, playing games, and canning vegetables. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren, who affectionally called her "Grammy Great". Survivors include her two sons, Todd L. Deines and wife Roxanne of Lenexa and Timothy D. Deines and wife Tabatha of Hays, a daughter, Tammy R. Dreiling and husband John of Hays, her twin sister, Vesta Rohr and husband Dennis of Mandan, ND, a sister-in-law, Darlene McCoy of WaKeeney, seven grandchildren, Curtis Gasper and wife Shelly, Jordan Hecker and husband Caleb, Katelyn Deines, Rochelle Ralston and husband Cameron Haddad, Riane Sasnett and husband Bryan, Rosalie Ralston, and Makayla Deines, eight great grandchildren, Skylar and Carter Ryan, Cash and Isadora Haddad, Arlo Ralston, Finley Sasnett, Oliver and Layla Gasper, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, her brother Kenny McCoy, a grandson, Craig Casper, and a great granddaughter, Charlie Gasper. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Brenda Rodger officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, WaKeeney. Neva H. Gatschet Neva H. Gatschet, 97, Hays, died Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Hays Good Samaritan Society. She was born February 21, 1926 in Hays, the daughter of Leonard H. and Mary (Bollig) Bell. On January 9, 1946 she was united in marriage to Milton A. Haerich, and he preceded her in death. On February 23, 1974 she was united in marriage to Thomas C. Gatschet, and he preceded her in death. Neva was a homemaker and Foster Grandparent. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a former member of Daughters of Isabella, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, St. John's Auxiliary, and Hays Medical Center Auxiliary. Survivors include three sons, T. J. Haerich and wife Joyce of Venturia, ND, Greg Haerich of Denver, CO, and Neal Haerich and wife Joyce of Harlingen, TX, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a son, Ronald Haerich, two daughters, Joanne Haerich and Patricia Smith and husband Cliff, four brothers, Victor, Clarence, Robert, and Leonard Bell, and two sisters, Edna Brungardt and Mary Nay. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fr. Richard Daise officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
