David Brodeur

David Brodeur

Age - 67

August 11, 2023

David P. Brodeur, 67, also known as DB, died unexpectedly August 9th, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Born January 31st, 1956 in Berlin, NH, he resided here his entire life. He was the son of the late Anna and Paul Brodeur. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1975. Dave was known for his family fishing business, DB Lures, and had a passion for everything fishing and hunting. His happy place was at Success Pond, in his words, "God's Country", where many family memories were made. One of his biggest fishing achievements was one of his DB fishing lures breaking the Maine state record for the largest lake trout weighing in at 39. 2 pounds. In fact, he was so proud of this accomplishment, his screen saver was a picture of this fish instead of his loving and devoted wife of 42 years. Unbeknownst to many, Dave was very generous, supporting causes with his lures, including reading programs and fundraisers. Dave was an avid New England Patriots and Montreal Canadians fan. One of his favorite pastimes was watching his grandson, Gavyn, excel at hockey and lacrosse. Dave enjoyed riding his John Deere lawn mower at camp with his grandchildren on his lap (of course accompanied with a beer in his hand!). He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Louise (Williams) Brodeur of Berlin, NH; his children Chad Brodeur and wife Ashley of Deerfield, NH and Mallory Grande and husband Justin of Berlin, NH. He had an unbreakable bond with his grandchildren, Noah Gendron, Gavyn Brodeur, Aspen Brodeur and Emmett Grande. They lovingly adored him. Dave's smile was infectious when he spoke of his grandchildren. Dave has left behind 7 sisters and 1 brother with whom he had an unbreakable bond: Lu Johnson and husband Eric, Paula Lessard and husband Mitch, Diane Brodeur-Fossa and husband Mario, Laurie Brodeur and husband Gerald, Karen Turgeon and husband Roland, Sheila Brodeur and companion Bob, Nancy Salek and husband Michel and Mark Brodeur and companion Denise, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Dave also leaves behind bonus brothers Ralph Lapointe and Andy Gagne who were Dave's bookends. Dave was beloved by many. Per Dave's request, there will be no services. And for those who knew Dave, we better listen! There will be a celebration of DB's life and a later date at his happy place, Success Pond. We will share stories, laughs, and process life moving forward at that time. Dave is now fishing and hunting in heaven with his daughter Hillary on his lap. Donations in his memory can be made to: Androscoggin Valley Fish and Game Association, PO Box 284, Berlin, NH, 03570. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
