"A Celebration of Life Service for Kinsey Lane McGinnis, 26, of Spring Garden will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 5:00 p. m. at the Jacksonville State University Pete Mathews Coliseum, 775 Park Avenue NW, Jacksonville, Alabama 36265, with Mackie Sides, Riley Austin, Dawson Broome, Ricky Austin and Cooper Austin speaking. The family will receive friends at the Coliseum immediately following the service. A private committal service will be held Wednesday. Kinsey passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia. Survivors include her parents, Jana and Russ McGinnis of Spring Garden; one sister, Payton McGinnis Rogers (Dylan) of Spring Garden; nephew, Beckham Rogers of Spring Garden; grandparents, Linda and Elbert Bright and Diane and Terry McGinnis all of Spring Garden; aunts and uncles, Mackie and Melanie Sides, Ricky and Dana Austin, Rodney and Audra Broome and Scott and Susan McGinnis all of Spring Garden; and several cousins, Jordan Sides, Madison Sides, Dawson Broome (Keri Ann), Riley Austin (Shaley), A. J. Broome, Cooper Austin (Libby) and Ace Austin. Pallbearers will be Mackie Sides, Riley Austin, Dawson Broome, Ricky Austin, Cooper Austin, Rodney Broome, Scott McGinnis and Dylan Rogers. Kinsey was a lifelong resident of Spring Garden and was considered a graduate of Spring Garden School. She lived a full and happy life for 26 years despite being born with a rare condition called Lissencephaly. She was part of the Piedmont Church of Christ family, attended many Spring Garden High School games and JSU softball games, enjoyed trips to the beach and Disney World and was a recipient of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Luke and Betty Welsh and Bill and Bonnie Fagan.
