"Kimberly Leticha Johnson, 35, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri. Kimberly was born February 29, 1988, in Joplin, Missouri to Michael Pearce and Charlotte Maynard. Kimberly was a resident of Miller, Missouri for the last five years, after moving from Mt. Vernon, Missouri. She had worked as a C. N. A. at Good Sheperd Nursing Home in Lockwood, Missouri. Kimberly enjoyed crafting and making things, especially for her kids. Kimberly is survived by her life partner, Christopher Douglas; two sons, Aiden Johnson and Jayden Douglas of the home; three daughters, McKinzie Johnson, Cloey Douglas, and Zoey Douglas of the home; her parents, Cliff and Charlotte Conway of Webb City, Missouri; four brothers, Wyatt Howard, Canyon Conway, Brenden Pearce, and Michael Pearce, Jr. ; and four sisters, Gabriel Howard, Mariah Turner-Conway, Shania Conway, and Frances Cooper. Kimberly is preceded in death by her biological father, Michael Pearce, Sr. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p. m. James Franklin Buttram, known affectionately as Jim to his friends and family, passed away at the age of 82 on Wednesday morning, December 6, 2023, at Westgate Care Center in Joplin, Missouri, following a recent decline in health. Born on October 25, 1941, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to the late John H. and Evelyn (Welch) Buttram. Raised in McDonald County, Missouri, and was a graduate of Pineville High School. Jim's work ethic was evident in his career as a construction worker and general handyman, where he was known for his ability to fix almost anything with skill and ease. He served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication were recognized with numerous medals and commendations, a testament to his courage and patriotism. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Buttram, and several family members including his father and stepmother, John and Lenora Buttram; his mother, Evelyn Long; and his brothers, Jack, John Horace, Robert, Raymond, and William "Bill" Buttram, along with his stepbrother, Jerry Hammontree. He leaves behind his sister, Frances Cook and her husband, Larry, of Diamond, Missouri; his stepsisters, Vicki Leach of Pineville, Missouri, and Cindy House of Duenweg, Missouri. His life was also enriched by the companionship of his best friends, Larry and Betty Browning of Anderson, Missouri, and he will be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Buttram will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Pineville Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. Cheryl Lynne Teaford, affectionately known as Lynne to her friends and family, graced this world with her gentle and generous spirit on July 21, 1949, in the heart of Joplin, Missouri to the late Charles and Arlene (Crane) Ashburn. It is with a blend of sorrow for our loss and celebration of her life that we announce Lynne's peaceful passing on November 29, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. Lynne's journey through life was marked by her unwavering courage and the gentle touch she extended to all who knew her. Lynne's story is one of enduring love and commitment. She shared a beautiful partnership with her husband, Scott Teaford, for 40 years, creating a tapestry of memories woven with care and mutual respect. Together, they embraced the joys of a blended family, cherishing moments with stepson Chad Teaford and his wife Susan of Louisville, KY, and stepdaughter Ann Teaford of Joplin. Lynne's role as a grandmother was one she treasured deeply, doting on her grandchildren Kate Rainey, Jack Wesley, Cora Wesley, Kyle Johnson, and Neal Johnson. Her warmth extended to her niece, Andrea Hilgenberg (Justin) of Joplin, and her nephew Jonathan Hays (Denise) of Fayetteville, AR, as well as to the many extended family members and friends who were drawn to her radiant spirit. A proud graduate of Joplin High School, Lynne furthered her education at Missouri Southern State College (MSSC), earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Her passion for learning and growth was a testament to her belief in the power of education to transform lives. Lynne's professional journey was marked by 40 years of dedicated service as a clerk for Empire and Liberty Utilities, where she was not just an employee but a pillar of reliability and kindness. Lynne lived her life like a dance, moving gracefully to the rhythm of her favorite tunes. Her love for dancing was infectious, and she could often be found twirling and stepping anywhere the music played. Her service to the community, alongside Scott, was a reflection of her generous heart. Volunteering at Crosslines, they extended hands of support to the less fortunate, embodying the very essence of compassion and empathy. Lynne's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she was a devoted member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, of Joplin, where she found strength and fellowship. Other than her parents, Lynne is preceded in death by her only sibling, Tana Hays. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. at Parker Mortuary with a visitation to follow. Debra Ann (Martin) Gilden age 64, of Springfield, Missouri died Friday, November 10, 2023 at NHC Healthcare of Joplin, MO. Debra was born on Wednesday July 8, 1959 in Springfield, Missouri to Emlous Preston (E. P. ) and Louise Elizabeth (Clevenger) Martin. She attended Central High school and graduated in 1977. She met the love of her life, Wesley Dwayne Gilden through a mutual friend, and they married May 12, 1990. Debra began working part-time in 1974 for the Council of the Churches of Springfield, MO. She worked for Greene County Mental Health Association during her high school years. After graduating high school, she attended Draughon Business College completing her associate degree. She also finished her Executive and Legal Secretary programs that was possible with the help of her high school guidance counselor, Wilbur Brill. Debra worked for Assemblies of God Headquarters (Insurance Department); Security State Bank of Republic, MO (secretary to the president); Lawyers: Donald S Clough, Donald L Sanders, Springer & Haseltine, Jim Sivils; and Paul Mueller Company. She enjoyed each new job with their new experiences. Debra loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them laugh and play. She was known as Nana to them. She was loved by so many people and she will be greatly missed. Debra is preceded in death by her parents; one sister. Barbara Martin, and her brothers. Debra is survived by her husband, Wesley Gilden of Springfield, MO; son, Joseph Gilden and wife, Ashley of Springfield, MO; daughter, Jennifer Merrill and husband, Dayton of Willard, MO; five grandchildren, Evelyn Rose Gilden, Elijah Preston Merrill, Adilynn Braye Merrill, Hailey Faith Merrill and Broden William Merrill. Audrey L. Vaughn, age 88 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Audrey was born August 28, 1935, in Hartford, Arkansas to the late James R. "George" Smith and Anna E. "Myrtle" O'Brine Smith. Audrey attended her secondary education in Encino, California. It was during her time in California that she met and married her husband, James B. Vaughn on January 9, 1953. With his service in the Army, they moved to the state of Washington until he finished his service time. Eventually, the two moved to Richland, Missouri where they settled and became a huge part of the community. Audrey's love for kids was very evident in her work as a Daycare Provider and later working with the Richland School District for several years as a Bus Aide and a Paraprofessional in the classroom. It was 45 years later that she moved to Joplin to be closer to her son and daughter in-law for the past 10 years. While in Richland, Audrey was continually active with Richland First Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher and childcare teacher. Audrey had a passion for crafts and homemade items, giving them to many of her family and friends. For about 10 years during the winter months, they would turn into snowbirds, heading to Arizona to be near her family and where they took up golf. Audrey is survived by her son, John Vaughn (Debbie Markman) of Joplin; granddaughters, Sara Baker (Richard) and Susan Ingerson (Quenton); six great-grandchildren, Anna Grace, Abby, Emma, Micah, Aiden, and Asa; one sister, Jenna Denton (Jim) of Falls City, Oregon. Other than her parents, Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, four siblings and son David Vaughn. Family will host Celebration of Life at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Joplin, MO on December 12, 2023 at 1:00 p. m. , and at First Baptist Church, Richland, MO on December 16, 2023, at 11:00 a. m. with burial to follow after at Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland.
