Kim "Nana" Hanafin, of Clever, MO, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Saturday, September 09, 2023. Kim was 71 years old. She was born on November 14, 1951, in Wayburn, Saskatchewan Canada to Thomas and Wilma (Rubin) Kemp and she was the middle of five children in the home. Kim came to the United States in 1970, and in 1971 she met and married the love of her life, John Hanafin. They were married on August 14, 1971, and this union was blessed with three children, Johnna, Sarah and Jason. Kim worked as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. She was the Director of Nursing at ManorCare for most of her career. She loved to read, but above all, she cherished her grandchildren and the time she was able to spend with them. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a brother-in-law Al Johnson. Kim is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John, children Johnna Connors, Sarah (Jason) Justice and Jason (Stacy) Hanafin, grandchildren; Jacob Hanafin, Bailee Justice, Alex Connors, Cristian Connors, Jaden Hanafin, Samantha Justice, Jarod Hanafin, Jayme Hanafin and Amelia Justice, siblings; Frank (Pat) Kemp, Glenda (Larry Roberts) Johnson, Gail (Stewart) Scoville and Raymond Kemp, brother-in-law Jim (Donna) Hanafin, sister-in-law Judy (Doug) Forgey as well as many nieces and nephews. A Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 5 - 7 p. m. at Meadors Funeral Home in Clever. Graveside services will take place on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 10 a. m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Barbara Ann Robinson, of Clever, MO went home to be with her Lord, with her loving family by her side, on November 03, 2023. Barbara was 74 years old. She was born on December 08, 1948, in Odessa, MO. to Allen and Amanda (Murray) Major. Barabara was one of 8 children in the home. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1966. Barbara married Frank Allivato, who brought four children, Frank Annette, Angela and Bernadette to the marriage. Barbara and Frank were blessed with four additional children, Stormy, Anthony, Stephanie and Joseph. In 1985, Frank and Barbara divorced. On August 13, 1994, Barbara married Jackie Robinson and Jackie brought three additional daughters, Jaylene, Rebecca and Alicia to the family. Barbara loved being a mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devout Christian who attended Crimson Ave Baptist Church for many years, and she was also an amazing artist and seamstress. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her son Anthony Allivato, siblings, Aubrey Major and Mary Nash, step-son Frank Allivato Jr. , and a granddaughter Madison Diane Hayes. She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Jack, children; Stormy (Gary) Mahan, Stephanie (Daniel) Hayes, Joseph Allivato, Frank Allivato, Annette (Dennis) Ramsey, Angela (Tim) Robinson, Bernadette Allivato, Jaylene Puckett, Rebecca (Michael) Garcia and Alicia (JR) Pando, siblings LeAnna Smith, Rose O'Dell, Wanda Thomas, John Allen Major and Roxie Williams, 29 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. A Celebration of Barbara's life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 10am at Crimson Ave Baptist Church in Nixa. She will be buried at Mission Chapel in Elkland, MO.Show more

On August 24th, 2023 Jerry Lee Meyer, of Clever Missouri, passed away at homesurrounded by his family and friends after a valiant fight with cancer. He will be dearlymissed by his loved ones and all those that knew him. Jerry was 80 years old. Born in Peoria Illinois on September 13th, 1942, he was the oldest of 13 siblings andgrew up in Rawlins, Wyoming. Upon leaving home, he joined the National Guard inwhich he served as a cook. After his service he would teach himself his lifelong craft ofbecoming a master upholsterer, among many other carpentry trades, he was trulywonderful with his hands and there was nothing he could not accomplish with them. Hetraveled the country and its big cities, working for large hotels and companies, all thewhile building the incredible work ethic, creativity and optimism he was known topossess. On his journey he met the woman that he would devote his life to for the next 37 years,Kayla, with whom they raised a family and created a home in Clever Missouri. Settlingdown and opening a shop, it is here that he and Kayla created their own business,Jer-A-Ka (a Jerry and Kayla metamorphosis). Together, with the help of his kids, theywould build, restore, recreate, and at times, make the impossible possible. He helpedout many of the surrounding areas businesses and people, chances are you have seenor relaxed amongst his work and not even known it. Jerry was known for many things, his craftsmanship, hard work, and a kind heart, but heexcelled at being a husband, father and grandfather. He had a knack for making teddybears and countless pieces of amazing furniture from scratch for all of them, spoilingthem the best he could along the way. His passions though, were making uniquelywonderful artistic pens in his shop or cross stitching, with some coffee, while listening tothe bible or old time music. Chances are if you brought him something to work on, you'dleave with a new pen and a guided tour of his gallery of stitchings. He would give pensto people he met to brighten their day and bring a smile into the world. He loved givingor doing what he could to make people feel special in all he did. He was a caringmember of the community, strong in his faith and quick to help if needed. He will bemissed by all those that had the fortune to know the man he was. Jerry is survived by his wife who he loved so very much, Kayla; his four siblings,Brenda, Connie, Roger and Roseanne; his four children, Josh, Shanna, Kristy andKathy; and six grandchildren, Erin, Collin, Grayson, Owen, Fred and Amelia. Mary Magdalene Hutchins, of Clever, MO, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with our Lord, on Thursday, May 18, 2023, peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. Mary was 85 years old. She was born on August 28, 1937, in Inez, KY, to Amon Elmer and Anna Lee (Justice) James. After high school, Mary moved to Sandusky, OH where she met the love of her life, Leroy Hutchins. For 52 years, they built a wonderful life together. They moved to Phenix City, AL built a home where Mary worked for the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Company and W. T. Grants. From there they moved to Third Lake, IL where Mary spent several years working for Anchor Hocking Corporation. Mary and Leroy moved to Davenport, IA, where Mary became a machinist for Caterpillar Tractor Company. She loved her job with Caterpillar, but circumstances took Mary and Leroy to Lexington, NC where Mary built a lifelong business and career in retail. Mary set herself up in the Flea Market business and she spent the next 35 years selling, buying and trading beautiful antique glass, women's clothing, and accessories. She loved her Flea Market, known in the area as Mary's Collectibles. Mary traveled North and South Carolina and West Virginia, making a successful business for herself and Leroy who joined her and supported her after his retirement. Mary loved to be in her market, and only retired in 2016, to move closer to her only daughter in Clever, MO. In Clever, Mary's lifelong love of God and Church, found her another family at Clever Assembly of God Church. Mary was a devoted member of her Church, helping to organize and work in the kitchen, serving Sunday and Wednesday meals, sometimes advising the Pastor (from the congregation) on how to "tell it Pastor", always joining in the singing and praise for her Lord. Mary was a bright and shining beacon in her Church and known to all as Ms. Sunshine. During the past year, Mary moved to Cedarhurst Senior Living of Springfield. There, Mary was a joy to all who knew her. Her sense of humor was seen and loved by all. Ask on any given day how she was doing, and she always replied, "finer than frog hair!" Mary was lovingly referred to at Cedarhurst as Ms. Kentucky. Everyone knew and loved her. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Leroy, stepdaughter Reba Hutchins, brothers Jack James, Jimmie James, and Danny Jo James, sisters Joshepine Missler, Elizabeth Irene James, Judy Ann Masica, and stepmother Edna (Johnson) James. She is survived by her only child, Teresa (Kevin) Clark, loving grandchildren Amber Clark; Koren Clark-Wilson; Aaron Clark; Ben Hutchins and her great grandchildren, Hayleigh Clark, Hannah Clark, Kaiya Wilson, Libby Clark, Tucker Wilson, Kamron Clark and many nieces, nephews and countless friends, who loved her dearly. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred and may be made to Clever First Assembly of God Church's Sunshine fund in Mary's honor. A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 11-12 a. m. with service to follow immediately, at Clever First Assembly of God Church, (111 N. Public Ave. , Clever). A second visitation in Mary's honor will be held Saturday, May 27th, 2023, from 11a. m. to 12:00 p. m. with service to follow immediately, at Zion United Baptist Church, 2026 Rock House Rd. , Tomahawk, KY 41262. Mary's final resting place will be at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC, with her beloved Leroy. A date for the service and internment will follow. Orlan G. Beasley, of Clever, MO, went home to be with his Lord, on Friday, May 12, 2023, peacefully at his home, surrounded by the family he cherished dearly. Orlan was 79 years old. He was born on May 30, 1943, in Ozark County, MO to Ode and Lucy (Coy) Beasley. He graduated from Gainesville High School. Orlan joined the National Guard and proudly served his country for several years. On August 06, 1965, he married Maxine Harvill, and they shared 57 wonderful years until her passing on March 14, 2023. This union was blessed with two daughters, Angie, and Becky. Orlan and Maxine worked for Panther II trucking company for over 17 years. They were very proud to be expeditor drivers, they always had their bags packed and were ready to go whenever the call would come in. Orlan loved to be outdoors, camping in their RV, which usually involved trips revolving around the girls' softball tournaments or the Bluegrass Festivals that the family loved attending. Orlan also loved fixing up old cars and taking on the challenge of a good claw machine game. He had a huge heart and would give you the shirt off his back or a warm meal if that's what someone needed. He attended First Baptist Church in Clever for many years. Orlan was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many. Orlan was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Maxine as well as several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Angie Gardner and husband Greg and Becky Baker, grandson Garrett Gardner as well as other extended family and countless friends. Orlans' big heart and contagious smile will be greatly missed by all whose lives had been touched by him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred and may be made to either St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to Hurley Community Baptist Church's Mother's Day Brunch fund in both Maxine and Orlan's honor. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 1-2 p. m. at Pope Cemetery in Clever (354 Little Road, Clever).
