Killus Smith Jr Obituary

Killus Smith, Jr. born May 5, 1938 departed this life on Sunday April 9, 2023 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 84-years old. Killus was born in Ary, Kentucky the son of the late Killus Smith and the late Mertie Combs Smith. Other than his parents, Killus was also preceded in death by his Son, Ernie Smith; Daughter, Alicia Smith; Sisters, Alice Smith, Elaine Adkins, Anna Sizemore, Doris Cornett and Jean Sizemore; Brothers, Lowell Smith, Thomas Smith, and Don Smith. Killus was a Veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp, past owner of Smith Brothers Western Auto at Dwarf, he loved the Kentucky Derby, and loved Basketball, as he played formerly at M. C. Napier High School. Killus Smith, Jr. leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Former Wife & Mother of Children, Anna Smith of Hazard, KY; Son, Gene Smith & Melda of Hindman, KY; Two Daughters, Elena Patrick & Woody of Hazard, KY and Leslie Patrick & Bub of Knott County; Sister, Dinah Short of Napoleon, Ohio; Brother, John Larkin Smith of Lexington, KY; Grandchildren, Miranda, Amanda, Heather & Rodney, Cody, Savannah, Courtney, Clyde, and Emily; Great Grandchildren,also a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive. There will be no services at this time and a burial will be conducted at a later date at the Smith Cemetery located at Ary, Kentucky.
