A Celebration of Life for Kevin Ericson of Starbuck, formerly of St. Paul, Minnesota, will be held at a later date in the Metro area. Kevin Arthur Ericson, Jr. was born on October 12, 1976, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Kevin Sr. and Kathleen (Behrendt) Ericson. Born of a Military family, Kevin moved with his family all over while his Dad was serving, they lived in Germany, South Carolina, and Kansas, before returning in Minnesota. In his younger years, Kevin was in Boy Scouts and Junior ROTC. Kevin graduated in 1994 from City Academy in St. Paul. He went on to attain his truck driving license and began his career as a long-haul trucker; working for others until 2011 when he started Ericson Transportation. In September of 2004, Kevin met Renee Meissner at the Renaissance Festival. The two made an instant connection! They moved in together shortly after and were married on October 31, 2006, at Vermillion Falls in Hastings, Minnesota. They made their home in St. Paul, welcoming a daughter, Ismera. In 2020, they began looking for properties to house their family and their business outside of the metro. They found the perfect property in Barsness Township, Pope County, near Starbuck, and moved to the country. Kevin was willing to help anyone whenever he could, especially his many friends who became family to him. He was a big supporter of Wreaths Across America, dedicated to Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Kevin would donate his time, truck and trailer every year for delivering wreaths. Kevin was sarcastic, always ‘told it like he saw it’, was brutely honest and didn’t sugarcoat anything. He enjoyed video and computer games, movies, and television shows, especially Star Wars, Star Trek, and Superman. The yearly Renaissance Festival was extremely important to him, for many years, he had a season membership, and he and Renee would spend as much time as they could there; even making it to the opening weekend this year. Kevin died on Sunday, August 20, 2023, due to complications with his Type I Diabetes. He was 46 years old. Kevin is survived by his wife, Renee, of Starbuck; his daughter, Ismera of Starbuck; his parents, Kevin Sr. and Kathleen of Starbuck; one brother, Keith (Brenda) Ericson of Blaine; parents-in-law, Brian and Peggy Meissner of Hastings; sister-in-law, Angie (Kevin) Lane of Hastings, nieces and nephews: Zachary Ericson, Tori Jones, Kaanan Lane, and Kaaliyah Lane; and many other extended family and friends. Kevin is preceded in death by his grandparents. Starbuck Funeral Home is in care of arrangements for Kevin.
