Kent Allen Baker 85, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Specialty Select Hospital in Des Moines. He was born on July 31, 1937, in Strawberry Point, the son of Eli and VaNeta (Carpenter) Baker. Kent was raised and educated in the area, graduating from Edgewood High School in 1956. On March 25, 1960, Kent was united in marriage to Marcia Weyant at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Kent worked as a mechanic for eight years for Nall Chevrolet and Oldsmobile in Manchester. He then worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 26 years. In Kent's retirement, he worked at ABC Campground in Branson, Missouri. Kent and Marcia enjoyed travelling in their motor home. They became full time campers and during later years wintered in Rockport, Texas. The couple enjoyed square dancing. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Marcia Baker; and many friends. Kent was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Austin and Stella Weyant; and his brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Rhonda Baker.
