Loris, South CarolinaMr. Kenneth Jerry Rowell, age 78, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Regency Hospital of Florence, SC. Born on March 20, 1945, in Loris, SC, he was the son of the late Gar Lee Rowell and the late Eva Strickland Rowell. Mr. Rowell was the longest active DJ with WLSC radio station in Loris, SC, he owned MyGospelStation. com that aired on the internet, and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Virginia Rhodes Rowell; two brothers, Rev. Dewey Lee Rowell (Sara), and Tommy Rowell (Mary Jane); two sisters, Joyce Ann Buffkin (Wayne) and Debbie Barnhill (Robbie), as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rowell was predeceased by two brothers, Jimmy Carol Rowell and Franklin Roger Rowell, and three sisters, Eunice R. Soles, Margaret Herring, and Geraldine Shultz. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mack Hutson officiating. Committal services will be private. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Wednesday at Hardwick Funeral Home. Loris, South CarolinaMr. Henry Will Boyd, age 88, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, following an illness. Born on January 3, 1935, in Loris, SC, he was the son of the late Havy Cornelius Boyd and the late Nancy Leath Cox Boyd. Mr. Boyd served his country with courage, honor, and distinction in the United States Army. After his military service he worked as a farmer until his retirement, and he was especially proud to have served as a Trustee with Horry Electric Cooperative, for forty-two years. Mr. Boyd was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, and he devoted much of his free time to building, crafting, and welding for himself and his neighbors in his tool shed. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years, Pearl Todd Boyd; two daughters, Sharra Boyd Bruton (Donald Kim) and Trenny Boyd Neff (Joe); five grandchildren, Mandy Bruton Garcia (Pedro), Luke Bruton, Paige Neff Edwards (Reed), Lucy Neff, and Will Neff; four great-grandchildren, Bailey Bruton, Braxton Bruton, Jayce Garcia, and Jacob Garcia; brother, Paul Austin Boyd; sister-in-law, Edwana Todd; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Boyd was predeceased by his two sisters, Jamie Boyd Ward and Wilma Boyd Martin; brothers-in-law, Robert Todd, Dr. Ben Ward, and Frank Martin; and sister-in-law, Esther Bell Boyd. Memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Hardwick Funeral Home. Committal services will be private.
