Loris, South CarolinaMr. Kenneth Jerry Rowell, age 78, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Regency Hospital of Florence, SC. Born on March 20, 1945, in Loris, SC, he was the son of the late Gar Lee Rowell and the late Eva Strickland Rowell. Mr. Rowell was the longest active DJ with WLSC radio station in Loris, SC, he owned MyGospelStation. com that aired on the internet, and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Virginia Rhodes Rowell; two brothers, Rev. Dewey Lee Rowell (Sara), and Tommy Rowell (Mary Jane); two sisters, Joyce Ann Buffkin (Wayne) and Debbie Barnhill (Robbie), as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rowell was predeceased by two brothers, Jimmy Carol Rowell and Franklin Roger Rowell, and three sisters, Eunice R. Soles, Margaret Herring, and Geraldine Shultz. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mack Hutson officiating. Committal services will be private. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Wednesday at Hardwick Funeral Home.
