Kenneth August Pfeiffer, 71, of Waretown, NJ, formerly from Rochelle Park, NJ passed away October 1, 2023 after a brief stay in the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ He was pre-deceased by his spouse Jamie Nash and his parents Howard E and Dorothy H Pfeiffer and survived by his brother Howard H Pfeiffer Kenn had previously suffered from 2 previous strokes the first of which left his left arm paralyzed and affecting his left leg On September 30, 2023, he was discovered by a friend who was currently staying with him as a house mate He had collapsed in his room and unconscious; 911 was called Upon admission to Jersey Shore Hospital, he was placed on a ventilator listed as critical It was discovered he had a massive brain bleed on his left brain leaving his right leg paralyzed amongst other affected organs He passed peacefully Sunday afternoon His remains were cremated by Layton's Funeral Home on Lacey Rd Forked River, NJ No service has been scheduled at this time Please keep Ken in your prayers and pray he is at peace meeting up with old friends that have passed before him

Ruth R. Trotta (nee Ainsworth), 90, of Forked River, NJ passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Ruth was born on September 30, 1933 in Newark, NJ. She was the daughter of Ruth (nee Norris) and Robert Ainsworth. Ruth grew up in Newark and lived in Verona and Belleville before moving to Forked River in 1976. She was employed as an interior decorator and later as a fulltime homemaker. Ruth had a contagious sense of humor and loved to socialize with her family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for children, the elderly, and animals. Some of her favorite hobbies and interests included painting, reading murder mysteries, watching murder ID television shows, and visiting Atlantic City and Las Vegas to try her luck at the slot machines. She had an appreciation for art and especially enjoyed her husband's artwork. Above all, Ruth was devoted to her family and spirituality. She will always be remembered for her heart of gold, compassion for others and her friendly personality. Ruth is survived by her loving sons, Paul Maddalena and his wife Donna, Gerard Maddalena and his husband Robert Oquist, and Richard Maddalena and his wife Jennifer. She was the cherished grandmother of Zoe Rose Maddalena, Alexander Maddalena, Paulette Freas, and Michael Levitz. She is also survived by her "furry" nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael A Trotta, her son Daniel Maddalena and her sister Muriel Ainsworth. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St Vincent's Martyr Catholic Church, 26 Green Village Rd, Madison, NJ 07940. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our sweet Joan Marie Beveridge, 73. Joan died at her home on Sunday, November 26, 2023 after a long battle against bone cancer. With her Rosary in hand, she was ready to see her Mom again and be welcomed home to Heaven. Joan was born in Newark, NJ, grew up in Elizabeth and lived in Plainfield and Great Meadows for many years before moving to Forked River in 2005 with her husband so they could be near family. She was predeceased by her mother Nancy Ratel, father Francis Ratel, sister Frances DeRosa, niece Kimberley Smith, nephew Michael DesRuisseau, and her precious pets. Joan had some odd jobs throughout life but her main occupation was homemaker. She had no children of her own so her life was dedicated to her husband of 51 years and their many animals. She cared deeply for her extended family, especially the children. Joan was a snowbird. She loved the cold weather, having her coffee in the mornings while reading the paper, and doing her crosswords to keep her mind sharp! She was a fan of Westerns and loved to shop! Joan had great taste and style. She filled the house with beautiful things and took pride in keeping her home pristine. Joan proudly made donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital any time she could. Joan is survived by her beloved husband Bruce Beveridge, niece Cynthia Quinones, nephew Christopher Wolf, niece Anita DesRuisseau, great niece Ashley Veith, great niece Courtney DesRuisseau, great-great niece Kimberley Sanchez and great-great nephew Ethan Neal, as well as many other family members. A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 between 2:00-6:00pm at Layton's Funeral Home, 250 Lacey Rd, Forked River, NJ 08731. The next day, Friday, December 1,2023, a second viewing will take place between 9:00-10:00am again at Layton's Funeral Home. Following that, there will be a mass service at St. Pius X Church, 300 Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ 08731, starting at 10:30am. Cremation services will be private. Americo "Rico" Sebastiano, 90, of Forked River, NJ, passed away on November 10, 2023. He was born on June 1, 1933, in Avellino, Italy, and moved to America in 1948 at the age of 15. Rico was a loving husband to Patricia Ann Corrigan Sebastiano for 63 years and a devoted father to five children and ten grandchildren. Rico had a remarkable career as a supervisor of metal plating, spanning over fifty years. He dedicated his time and passion to his work, leaving a lasting impact on the industry. Outside of his career, Rico was a treasured family man, friend, leader, and coach. He was loved by everyone he met. Rico was instrumental in starting the Bloomfield Soccer Booster club in the 1970s, which provided countless opportunities for children to play soccer. His involvement and leadership in the Midtown and Babe Ruth baseball leagues in Bloomfield led to his induction into the Bloomfield Athletic Hall of Fame and being named Man of the Year in Bloomfield. Rico's interests included being an avid Yankee, NY Giants, and Notre Dame football fan. He also enjoyed gardening and bowling. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Ann Corrigan Sebastiano, his children Marie (Danny) Marucci, Michael (JoAnn) Sebastiano, Joseph Sebastiano, JoAnn (Peter) Atwell, and Vincent (Christine) Sebastiano. Rico also leaves behind ten adoring grandchildren, Nicolas, Justine, Zachary, Samantha, Alexa, Matthew, Lauren, Patrick, Ava, and Hannah. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Angelina (Robert) Sheerin and numerous nieces and nephews. Rico was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Maria Sebastiano, his siblings Elena, Valentino, and Vicenzo, and his nephew Valentino Jr. A viewing will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph, NJ, on Wednesday, November 15th, from 4-8pm. A funeral mass will take place at St. Matthew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Randolph, NJ, at 10am, followed by burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Quaker Church Road in Randolph, NJ. Mrs. Anne Vacca entered God's heavenly kingdom and into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Anne was born on February 21, 1932, to Joseph and Ann Fumagalli. Anne was a graduate of Saint Joseph's Nursing School in Paterson, NJ, and practiced as a Registered Nurse for over 50 years. Her theme in life was to live with passion, purpose, and love. Anne was a strong woman who raised six successful children who are thankful for the life shared with her. Anne had many adventures with friends and family. She enjoyed playing cards, watching criminal movies, and was the queen of Rummikub! She had lifelong friendships with women who supported one another through all that life threw their way. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Ann and Joseph V. Fumagalli, her son Joseph Edward Vacca, and her grandson Robert W. Glover. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Anne Vacca Calabrese (Gary), Anthony R. Vacca, Paul J. Vacca (Cathy), Barbara J. Ragan, Thomas M. Vacca, Jean M. Vacca, and 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Layton's Home for Funerals in Forked River, NJ.
