Kenneth Koontz, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 91. He was born in Boise, Idaho on September 23, 1931, to Ralph and Hazel Koontz. In 1958, Kenneth married the love of his life, Rosita. Together they embarked on a remarkable journey that spanned 63 beautiful years. Together they had 5 children. He was dedicated to supporting his family, including working a second job as a bookbinder to provide his children the opportunity of a Catholic school education. As a grandfather, Ken found immense joy in the presence of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His legacy of love and guidance will forever be treasured by those he leaves behind. After Kenneth served in the Air Force during the Korean War, he spent the majority of his career as a dedicated mailman, faithfully serving his community through the United States Postal Service. His friendly demeanor and reliable service made him a familiar face in the neighborhood, and he took great pride in his role of delivering mail and connecting with people. Outside of work, Kenneth enjoyed indulging in his hobbies. He had a passion for hunting and spent many memorable moments in the great outdoors, camping with his family. Additionally he loved spending quality time with his loved ones, engaging in friendly competition through cards and board games. These cherished moments brought laughter, joy, and treasured memories to all who joined him at the table. Kenneth is survived by his sister Sharon (Ralph Moffitt), his children Roger, Thereasa, Lanette (Glen Brooks), Michael, Susan (Jim Jensen), and a plethora of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his loving wife Rosita, his parents, Ralph and Hazel Koontz and his sisters Dorothy Fuller and Lavonne Snyders. The family expresses their gratitude for the support received during this difficult time. May Kenneth's memory be a source of strength, inspiration, and love, and may his soul rest in eternal peace. A Rosary and Visitation will be Monday, May 15, from 4 - 6 at Cloverdale Funeral Home and the Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, May 16 at 11 at St Mark's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Cloverdale Memorial Park.
