"Kenneth \u0026quot;Ken\u0026quot; Harold Epps, 62, of South Point, OH, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, in Lesage, WV. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Chapman\u0027s Mortuary, Huntington from 2 to 4 pm. Ken was born November 22, 1960, in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Harold and Shirley Jean Epps. He was a retired plumber. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Epps, Jr. and an infant sister. Survivors include: wife, Jackie Epps; sisters, Becky Young, Cindy Clark, and Peggy Epps. Ken never met a stranger and would do anything within his power to help anyone he could. In addition to a love of motorcycles and riding, Ken also enjoyed collecting coins. "Amon Gregory \u0026quot;Greg\u0026quot; Samples, 53, of South Point, OH passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 18, 2023 while doing what he loved, fishing and kayaking on the Greenbrier River in Hinton, WV. The family cabin there was his \u0026quot;Happy Place. \u0026quot; Greg was born October 25, 1969 in Charleston, WV to Amon and Becki Samples. Greg graduated from George Washington High School in Charleston in 1987. While he was at GWHS, he excelled in academics and at both tennis and wrestling. After high school, he attended Clemson University and Marshall University. Greg was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved gardening, watching and photographing birds and wildlife, and music. He was employed by CLS Plasma for more than 30 years. He gave 110 in everything he did. Greg loved his family and friends dearly, and he always showed it. In addition to his parents, Greg is survived by his wife, soulmate, and best friend Becky Samples of South Point, OH; children- Eric Christian of South Point, OH, Bryce Christian of Kitts Hill, OH, and Zoey Samples of Columbus, OH; Grand-daughters Adalyn and Alivia Christian; Siblings- Mark and Adrienne Samples of Charleston, WV and Shannon and Andy Elliot of Charleston, WV; Father-in-law Proctor Conley of Wheelersburg, OH; brothers and sisters-in-law Brenda and Jim Minzelli of Minford, OH, Malissa Conley of Portsmouth, OH, Darren and Christine Conley of Rockledge, FL, Shane Bischoff of Denver, CO; Nieces Kayleigh Conley, Samantha Conley, Ashley Bullion, Skylar Minzelli, and Nephews Andrew and Quinton Elliot, Hunter and Jagger Samples, T. J. Cantrell, and Brad Davis. Per his wishes, Greg was cremated, and his ashes will remain at the family cabin. A private family service will be held at a later date. Nancy Clark Mays Runyon, 86, of South Point, OH passed away at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p. m. Monday, May 22, 2023 at Beard Mortuary. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park. Visitation will be held two hours prior to funeral services at the funeral home. She was born October 23, 1936 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Garrett Reed and Evelyn Clark Mays. Nancy was United Methodist by faith and was an avid boater with her late husband Jack at Serena Boat Club. Additionally, she and her husband were the owners of Jack's Tile City in Huntington. She was the most caring and loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all of her children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth "Jack" Runyon, a son, Jack David Runyon, and a sister, Barbara Bagley. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy DeJarnett (Bill) of South Point, OH, and Sherry Runyon (Sam Hogsett) of Rome, Ohio; six grandchildren, Rachel Snyder, Stacey Thompson Delosa (Greg), Michael Runyon (Sarah), Jennifer Rutherford, Alex and Molly Runyon; nine great grandchildren, Logan Medley (Emily), Lauren Snyder, Morgan Snyder, Ayden Snyder, Evan Runyon, Seth Runyon, Jaden Rutherford, Jasmine Rutherford and Jarren Rutherford; one great-great grandchild Addilyn Anderson; and one great-great grandchild on the way; her faithful companion Muffin; and a host of friends too numerous to mention.Show more

Mrs. Consuelo M. (Rotan) Jeffreys, 90, of South Point, Ohio departed this life on March 7, 2023. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Burlington, 7475 County Road 1, Burlington, Ohio with Pastor Gary Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV. Friends may visit the family from 11:30 AM until time of service at the church. Connie was born March 7, 1933 in Fayetteville, West Virginia. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Burlington. She graduated from Douglass High School, received a certificate for Operating Room Technician from Cabell Huntington Hospital (1962), graduated from Marshall University College of Applied Science (1967), graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse (1971), and graduated from Ohio University (Nursing). She worked as a nurse at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington VA Medical Center, and The Army Corps of Engineers, where she finished her career. After retiring, she served as a Hospice Volunteer. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Eastern Star, Red Hats, and The Smart Set. Connie was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Jeffreys; parents Vivian and Hattie B. (Scott) Rotan; brothers Buster, Ballard, Bobby, Bill, and Buddy; and sister Natalie Barnes. Survivors include her sons and daughters in law Charles and Juanita of Seattle, Washington, Carl and Maha of Columbus, Ohio and Brad and Donna of Bear, Delaware; grandsons Grant (Jasmine), Brent, Nicholas, and Zachary Jeffreys; one granddaughter Briana Jeffreys; three great grandsons Lavon, Xavier, and Makai Jeffreys; sisters Geraldine Jackson, Eva Layne, and Rebecca Walker; sisters in law Shirley Rotan and Kathy Rotan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
