Kenneth Brooks Obituary

"Kenneth S. Brooks, 93, passed away on September 15th, 2023. He was born on January 12th, 1930, to the late Kenneth and Muriel (nee Barnes) Brooks in Waterford, Ohio. Kenneth attended Waterford High School. He then enlisted in the United States Navy at the mere age of 17 years old. He was in the Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Senior Chief Machinist Mate in 1967. Following the Navy, Kenneth worked as a Safety Engineer for Travelers Insurance for 20 years. After retiring, he continued to work as an independent contractor until the age of 70. He met the love of his life, Dora DeBorde, in San Diego, where they were married in 1953. They had been married for 61 years until her passing in June of 2014. Kenneth enjoyed watching sports, including The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians, and golf. He also enjoyed hunting and playing golf in his younger years. Ken was active in the community serving as a past commander of the VFW Post #3345, a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #389, and a 32nd Degree Mason. Above all, he was a family man and loved them dearly. He is survived by his children Wayne Brooks and Sheri (Jim) Sichter; grandchildren Michael Sichter, Nathan (Mariko) Sichter, Jennie (Justin) Davis, and Ryan Brooks; and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Ken is preceded in death by his son Todd Brooks; and siblings Mary Fulmer, Evelyn Burge, and Wayne Brooks. VISITATION will be held on Saturday, September 23rd from 2pm - 3pm at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE will begin promptly at 3pm. Interment will take place at Strongsville Cemetery immediately following the service. No flowers please. Donations can be made to VFW Post #3345. "

"Susanne Kochheiser, age 68, passed away December 7, 2023. Beloved wife of 46 years to David Kochheiser. Loving mother of Cara Bianchi (Nicholas) and Brett Kochheiser. Daughter of the late Alfred and Donna Teuscher. Dear sister of Alfred Teuscher (Jette Clausen), Jeffrey Teuscher (Kathy) and the late David Teuscher (Kathleen; surviving). Cherished grandmother of Owen and Ella Bianchi. Susanne grew up in Strongsville, graduated from Ohio University, and moved back to Strongsville where she married her college sweetheart David and raised two children. She spent her 30-year career supporting Strongsville city schools and served as a Cuyahoga County Fair director for many years. Susanne had strong faith, and loved gardening, reading, and traveling. She was a wonderful friend, listener, and companion. Above all else, her family meant the most to her and she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Jurgen Probst

"Jurgen H. Probst, 80, passed away on December 4, 2023, in the comfort of his own home. He was born on November 23, 1943. Jurgen was married to Patricia Probst for many years before her passing in 1997. She was the love of his life. Together they had two twin children, Thomas Jurgen Probst (surviving) and Patricia Ann Probst, who passed away on October 17th of this year. He was a provider and protector. Jurgen worked hard and played hard in his day, most importantly, he wanted to take care of his family. He could fix anything put in front of him and was full of knowledge. Jurgen loved his family, Formula 1 racing, Westerns, and CNN. He would be the first to tell you life is too short. Jurgen is also survived by his brother Frtiz Probst (Maryanne); and grandchildren Joseph Probst and Shane Fish. Marko Stepanovich

Age - 68

"Marko Stepanovich of Berea, OH, born January 7th, 1955, the son of the late Nick and Elsie (Hunchuck), and older brother of Nenad Stepanovich, passed away on November 26, 2023, at the age of 68, surrounded by family. Marko is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 45 years Tina (Lisby); their son Nikola and wife Jennifer along with grandchildren Mila, Liljana, Kristina and Dako; their son Aleksander and wife Dawn along with grandchildren Luka and Marko; their daughter Melania Sima along with grandchildren Isidora and Bogdan. He is also survived by his brother Nenad, aunts, uncles, many cousins, and Kumovi. Marko is preceded by his parents, and his granddaughter Eva. Marko was born in Uniontown, PA and raised in North Royalton, OH. To his children and grandchildren, it sounded like a different era, as they regularly heard stories of riding a pony to a summer job, farms where there are now subdivisions and malls, and where walking into stores with a gun on your hip was not unheard of. He graduated from North Royalton High School in 1973 where he, as did his brother, made a name for himself as a standout football player and wrestler. Marko attended the United States Naval Academy and The University of Pittsburgh where he continued to excel in athletics. By 1978 Marko and Tina were married, and in 1980 he fulfilled his boyhood dream of becoming a police officer when he was hired by the City of Strongsville. Marko retired as a Lieutenant in 2013, where some of his professional work included: Patrolman, Seargent, Supervisor of the Detective Bureau, Range Supervisor, Graduate of the FBI National Academy, Commander of the Southwest Enforcement Bureau (SWAT Team), lead a Narcotics Unit, and was part of the FBI's Joint Terror Task Force. His athletic success carried over into the professional when Mark proudly represented both Strongsville and Ohio, winning several National and World Wrestling Championships in what is today called the World Police \u0026amp; Fire Games. Stories of "Big Mark" still circulate the area. There are funny ones like chasing rowdy teens out of McDonalds after Mustang football games, or serious ones like police raids and hostage situations. The proudest stories, and the ones his family hears the most, start with: "I remember this one time, when your dad/grandfather, helped me. . . " - he will be remembered for a lifetime of being there to help, and coming through for his family, friends, and the community. One of his greatest joys was to watch his children, and then his grandchildren, compete in their respective sports. He loved the outdoors and hunting, particularly his trips to Colorado for elk every couple of years. Interestingly, he even participated in competitive pistol shooting. A member of St Sava Orthodox Cathedral in Parma, OH - Marko was proud of his Serbian heritage. He was devoted to maintaining the traditions of his Orthodox faith and Serbian culture and was a member of the Movement of Serbian Chetniks Ravne Gore, and the Serbian National Federation. He even had the honor of serving as bodyguard for Patriarch Pavle when he came to Cleveland in 1992. Marko, like his father, was a Freemason, and as a Master Mason was also active as a Shriner and the Royal Order of Jesters. "Salvatore Incorvaia, 92, passed away November 26, 2023. Beloved husband of 71 years to Rosemarie Incorvaia (nee Dattilo). Loving father of Frank Incorvaia (Joan), Michael Incorvaia (Sylvia), Darlene Newcomb and Maryann Weiss (Steve). Brother of Constance Ciresi, Maryann Svobda and the late Dominic and Santo Incorvaia. Son of the late Frank and Sylvia Incorvaia. Cherished grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 11. Salvatore served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged and awarded two purple hearts and a bronze star for his service. After serving in the Army, he went on to begin his lifelong career as a butcher for 49 years at Pick-N-Pay/Topps. Salvatore's true passion was golf. He was an avid golfer and loved to play as much as he could. He was loved deeply and will be missed by all who knew him. (nee Borge), age 88, of Strongsville, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 26, 2023. She was born December 3, 1934, in Aberdeen, SD; daughter of the late Noel and Evelyn Borge. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, and brother Donnie Borge. She is survived by her cherished daughters, Sharon and Larry McDevitt, and Coleen and Curt Hofer; granddaughter Kayla and Drew Stearns, granddaughter Kelsey Hofer and Johnny Rudin, grandson Johnny and Jaime McDevitt, and granddaughter Jenny McDevitt and Tony Morris; loving great grandchildren, Grayson, Veyda, Zander, Logan, Arika, Avery, and Nico. She will also be missed by Gina Kriso (Visiting Angels), a very special addition to our family for the last year and a half. Cherished aunt of Ryan Semple, Matthew Paciotti (Abbey), Jennifer Paciotti and great aunt of Gemma and Ava Paciotti. Jo-Anne worked at Giant Eagle in Berea, Ohio as a cashier for 45 years. She truly loved her job and her customers that she saw regularly. Jo-Anne always had customers voluntarily waiting in her checkout lane, even though there would be other cashiers available, her customers happily waited to see her. She loved her furry companion profoundly, an Irish Setter named Braelyn. Jo-Anne's family took a precedent in her life, and she loved them fiercely and deeply. Jo-Anne never met a stranger - everywhere she went she would end up in conversation with someone she knew or maybe someone she had just met. "Roger B. Lapp, 75, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Southwest Hospice in Strongsville, Ohio. He was born on December 4, 1947, to the late Robert and Ruth (Meyers) Lapp Sr. in Cleveland, Ohio. Roger attended Buckeye High School and graduated in the class of 1965. Following high school, he completed some trade classes and worked as a Machine Operator for American Wire Cable for 50 years. He just recently retired this year. He was an outdoorsman that loved lots of fishing and camping. Roger also enjoyed working on old cars and tinkering in the garage. He was a member of the Cleveland Baptist Church for many years. Roger is survived by his children David (Mary Beth) Lapp, Diana (Rick) Wilkinson, and Robin (Michael) Zuba Sr. ; brother Robert (Alice) Lapp Jr. ; grandchildren Andrew, Michael (Aly), Kaleigh, and Katelyn; step-grandchildren Doug, David (Danielle), Adison, Austyn, Brooklynn, Alex, Carter, and Douglas; and nephews Wayne, Todd, Chad, and Jason. Sister of Raymond Pawlowski and Paul Brown. Dear step grandmother of Kylie Marie Yanick, Kadon Nathaniel Yanick-Reyes, Kiarah Rose Yanick-Reyes and Gracelynn Patricia Fritz. Patricia worked for many years as a pipe fitter for Local Union 120. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing alongside her husband and friends. Patti adored her furry companions, Tucker and Gabby. Thomas Humphreys

Age - 86

Thomas Humphreys of Strongsville, Ohio, passed away on November 7, 2023 at the age of 86. Tom was known for many things, among them was his insightful advice, ("Keep your head down, eyes open and your mouth shut", "You can never have too many napkins", "If at first it doesn't fit, get a bigger hammer"), his over the top compliments, ("If you were any prettier I'd have to put a fence around you"), and his entertaining similes and metaphors, ("It's darker than 3 feet down a cows throat out here" "It's so quiet I could hear a mouse piss on a cotton ball", "I could sure use a drink, I'm drier than a popcorn fart", "That guy has more problems than Nixon"). Tom was raised on a farm in a foster home in Strongsville, Ohio. He dropped out of school in the 11th grade and joined the Army in 1959 where he proudly served in the 101st Airborne as a US Paratrooper. After his service, he returned to high school in 1961 where he met his future wife, Joanne, and he graduated at the age of 25. Tom earned his apprenticeship in tool and die making and moved his family to Chicago where they lived for 5 years. After the birth of their third child, Tom and his wife decided to take in foster children. They welcomed over 35 children into their homes over the years. Tom moved his family to Columbus in 1976. Tom was very active well into his 80's. He played in various softball leagues until he was 75 and kept a gym membership until he was 82. He served for many years as a Mason with the Grand Lodge of Ohio. He loved his family, cats, being a Paratrooper, pretty girls, flirting, nice tools, laughing, and a home cooked meal. He loved to teach people new things and was a very patient instructor. ("Don't ever pass up an opportunity to learn something new. ") He was a reluctant Cleveland Indians and Browns fan, ("You don't know disappointment until you're a Cleveland fan" "Cleveland fans are disappointed if they're not disappointed"). Tom will be remembered for his kind and friendly nature, his funny one-liners, his 100 watt smile, his laugh, and his gentle spirit. He was preceded in death by his "pretty Fweety", Joanne Humphreys, who passed away in 1998. Tom is survived by his children, Debra/Punkin Burke (Bryan), David/Big Dave Humphreys (Sandra), Jennifer/Peanut O'Keefe (Steve), Shawn Humphreys (Tabitha); and grandchildren: Lee/My Man, Matthew/MattMan, Jesse, Jamie/Bear, Drew/Boo, Alyshia, Peyton/Peytie Pie, Claire, Isaiah, Andy, James, Tobias, and Jade. Thank you to all of the kind and loving caregivers at the Springfield Masonic Home who took such great care of Tom in his final years.
