"Paula Sue McEntyre, age 70, of Ozark, Arkansas, died, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in Ozark. She was born April 16, 1953 in Russellville, Arkansas to Paul Balanger and Wanda Lee Osborn Balanger. Paula was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Westside Full Gospel Church. She was a retired Certified Nurse's Aide at the Ozark Nursing Home. She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, JW McEntyre; and one sister, Pam Balanger. Paula is survived by her husband of 26 years, Jack McEntyre; one sister, Teresa Balanger of Clarksville, Arkansas; five daughters, Julie Vaught of Ozark, Pamela Christian and husband Todd of Booneville, Arkansas, Miranda Williamson of Coal Hill, Arkansas, Ava Kendall of Ozark, and Evi Baumann of Ozark; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Visitation service will be 1:00 P. M. to 2:00 P. M. , Friday, December 8, 2023 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral service will be 2:00 P. "Christie Michele Helmert Childers, age 55, of Ozark, Arkansas passed away, November 17, 2023 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 13, 1968 in Ozark, Arkansas to Robert Michael Helmert and Gina Sells Helmert. She spent most of her life being a devoted Homemaker, wife, and mother. She always proved that the true meaning of a mother's love is forever. Christie was compassionate, resourceful, and an industrious person. She never minced words, despite the fact that she was the glue that held everyone together. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, knitting, sewing, and doing other various crafts. Christie made the best potato salad and green bean casserole for any occasion. She enjoyed the beach, but most of all, she enjoyed being a nana. Holding the role as a nana was her world. She is preceded in death by her mother, Gina Helmert. Christie is survived by her father, Michael Helmert; her husband and best friend of 38 years, Jimmy Scott Childers; one son, Matthew Childers of Ozark; one daughter, of Ozark; three grandchildren; one brother, Stephen Helmert and wife Wendy of Ozark; three nieces, Gina, Jayden, and Haleigh Spoon; her special friend, Angela Wright; and many other family and friends. A family held memorial will be 11:00 A. M. , Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Cass Baptist Chapel, 20415 North Highway 23 in Ozark, with Brother Chuck Starnes officiating. "Ralph "Polk" Franklin, age 83, of Ozark, Arkansas, passed away, Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in Ozark. He was born May 21, 1940 in Ozark, Arkansas to Guy Henry Franklin and Helen June Chancey Franklin. Ralph was of the Baptist faith. He worked in the Oil Fields and was a truck driver. Ralph was on the Board of Directors of the Franklin County Senior Citizens and later retired. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union at the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Shirley Cross and Kay Stewart. Ralph is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia Hixon Franklin; one son, Michael Franklin and wife Gwen of Ozark; one daughter, Debby Gortemiller and husband Greg of Ozark; three sisters, Donna White, Fluffy Sory, and Tuffy Edwards all of Ozark; three grandchildren, Mandi Dickerson, Sara Clock, and Dustin Gortemiller; six great grandchildren, Treavor Gortemiller, Kris Gortemiller, Alexis Gortemiller, Aiden Clock, Kylee Clock, and Adlyn Clock; and many nieces and nephews.
