"Kelli Bridges Hodges, 45, of Covington, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023 around 4:00pm, after an almost six-year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her family. Kelli was born on November 15, 1977, to Charles and Sherri Bridges in Miami, FL and grew up in Lilburn, GA. Kelli loved Jesus and the way she lived life and walked her 6-year journey through cancer undoubtedly pointed many to the grace and wonder of her Savior. She was often described as kind, loving, and compassionate. People will only remember her fondly. Kelli graduated from The University of Georgia in 2000 then attended The University of St. Augustine for Health Science for OT training in St. Augustine, FL and graduated in 2002. She became an Occupational Therapist and loved her work with young patients in the NICU. While in college, Kelli met Ryan, her husband and partner in life. They were married for 21 years. As a matter of fact, Jesus called Kelli home on Ryan and Kelli's anniversary. Ryan was Kelli's rock, and her personality matched his perfectly. They lived in Covington, GA with their two kids, Carter (17) and Riley Kate (14), and their two dogs, Tucker and Millie. Kelli will be greatly missed by her husband, Ryan, kids, Carter and Riley Kate, Charles and Sherri Bridges (her parents), Todd and Shannon Bridges (brother & sister-in-law), Andrew and Connor Bridges (nephews), Ronnie and Peggy Hodges (in-laws), Dustin and Georgia Hodges (brother-in-law & sister-in-law), Emma and Beau Hodges (niece & nephew), Michael and Shannon Smith (brother-in-law & sister-in-law), Kevin, Kayden, Brayden, Jocilyn, and Hudson (niece & nephews), uncles, aunts, and cousins. Kelli had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. She was a private and quiet person, but also very witty and fun! She was fearless and independent, yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate. She loved Jesus, her family, her church, the beach, the lake, baseball, horse shows, crab legs, and a caramel sundae from McDonald's. She was strong-willed and definitely a fighter. They were part of who she was, and her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with life's challenges. We know that she is free from pain and is celebrating and dancing in Heaven with Jesus. "When I am afraid I put my trust in You, in God Whose word I praise, in God I trust, I shall not be afraid, in God I'll trust. What can flesh do to me?" - Psalm 56:3 This verse brought comfort to Ryan, their son, Carter, and their daughter Riley Kate in the final days of her life. It was time for her to be perfectly and permanently healed in Heaven. We have our eyes fixed on eternity and know we will see her again. To be with Kelli was to be around one of the kindest, sweetest people you knew. She was a precious wife, a loving mom, a beloved daughter, a precious sister, and a treasured friend. She will be missed forever. Funeral service will be held at the Rockdale Community Church located at 2455 Old Salem Road SE, Conyers, GA 30013 on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 2:00pm with a visitation beginning at 12:30pm.
