Corine Nesheim passed away peacefully on November 23, 2023 at the age of 96. Corine was born August 11, 1927 near McVille, ND to Jacob and Ovidia Quanbeck. Corine grew up on the farm and was very involved in the daily duties of farm life. Corine graduated from McVille High School in 1944. After high school Corine attended Mayville State College. Corine married Vernon Nesheim on May 20, 1946 after Vernon returned from the service in World War II. The two were each other's lifelong companions and friends. Soon after their marriage they lived in Sacramento, California for several winters, which they thoroughly enjoyed. They lived the remainder of their lives on their beautiful Sheyenne River Valley Farm in rural Pekin, ND. Corine was a very talented self-taught person. She was a very passionate woman who excelled in all of her many interests. Throughout her life she was a photographer, an artist, a beautiful vocalist, a seamstress, an Arabian horse trainer and breeder, an accomplished cook/baker and a master gardener. Her pride and joy were her expansive gardens on her Sheyenne River Valley Farm. She was well known throughout the state in the plant world and did hours of research learning new plant varieties. She inspired many people with her knowledge and encouraged everyone to plant their own beautiful gardens. Corine was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Nesheim; her father, Jacob Quanbeck; her mother, Ovidia Quanbeck; her brother, Sherman Quanbeck; and sister-in-law, Loretta Quanbeck. She is survived by her brother, Edwin Quanbeck; and her nephews, Kurt (Cheryl) Quanbeck, Mark (Heidi) Quanbeck; and niece, Kaye (Dale) Effertz. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. at the McVille Lutheran Church in McVille, ND. Burial will be held immediately after the service at the Norway Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Aneta, ND. Lunch will be held at the McVille Lutheran Church following burial. Rosalie Doris (Bunde) Naas, 87, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Nelson County Health System Hospital in McVille, ND Rosalie was born April 5, 1936, at their farm home north of McVille to Oscar and Ruth (Doud) Bunde Rosalie was the 5th of 8 children She learned early in life to work hard and to be satisfied with what she had She was very positive, enthusiastic and grateful for all the blessings in her life Rosalie attended country school in Center Township Then in 1947 the family moved to McVille where she attended McVille Public School graduating in 1954 Rosalie married Tracy Naas on June 12, 1955, at the McVille Lutheran Church Rosalie and Tracy settled on the farm by Kloten where they farmed and raised four children She liked to stay busy and was very much at home in her kitchen making homemade bread, donuts and traditional Norwegian foods like lefse, flatbread, and cream bread Her family enjoyed these treats and she always made enough extra to give to neighbors and friends Rosalie was very caring and generous with her time and talents She enjoyed making quilts for hours on end to give away to under privileged people she would never meet On the farm, in addition to all the household tasks, she still found time to raise a garden, enjoying the produce and canning the excess in the fall At harvest time you could find her behind the wheel of a grain truck hauling grain to town or unloading at the farm in grain bins She seldom complained and was more concerned about others than herself Her patience and kindness were unending never expecting anything in return Rosalie was a loving, caring and deeply religious woman always willing to give of her time and talents to anyone in need Rosalie taught Sunday School, was a 4-H Leader and was involved in many other ways in the community After her children were grown Rosalie enjoyed driving school bus for many years for McVille Schools Rosalie helped take care of grandchildren and enjoyed games, camping, skiing, fishing, and bonfires on the farm Rosalie & Tracy lived most of their life on the farm near McVille, and spent many winters in Weslaco, TX with friends and family Rosalie is survived by her children, Dean Naas, Golden, CO, Duane (Christine) Naas, Thompson, ND, Norean (Gary) Hoots, Moorhead, MN, and Terry (Karen) Naas, Grand Forks, ND; her nine grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Naas, Bismarck, ND, Tom (Whitney) Naas, Bismarck, ND, Andy (Hannah) Naas, Grand Forks, ND, Kayla (Christopher) Evenson, Mapleton, ND, Brian (Angela) Hoots, Fargo, ND, Kevin (Jada) Hoots, Fargo, ND, Michael (Taylor) Hoots, Kalispell, MT, Nikki (Keith) Thorsgard, McVille, ND, and John (Emily) Naas, Argusville, ND; and by 18 great-grandchildren Rosalie is also survived by her sister, Margaret Barnes, Yucca Valley, CA, brother, Jerome (Carleen) Bunde, Wallace, ID, brother, Peter Bunde, McVille, ND, sister, Sally Broomell, Jacobus, PA, and brother-in-law, Jack Pinto, Kennebunk, ME She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews as well as a former sister-in-law, Maxine Johnson, Lisbon, ND She was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy in 2020; parents, Oscar and Ruth Bunde; brother and sister-in-law, Merle and Anita Bunde; brother, Robert Bunde; sister, Joyce Pinto; and former sisters-in-law, Anna Bunde and Ginny Bunde Evans Visitation will be from 3:00 p m - 5:00 p m with a prayer service at 5:00 p m on Sunday, September 24, 2023 with the funeral at 11:00 a m on Monday the 25th, all at Our Saviors' Lutheran Church north of Kloten, ND (4 miles north of highway 15 from the Kloten corner) To to the family or in memory of Rosalie D Naas, pleaseShow more
