Mrs. Keiko Hataoka, 88, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023. She is predeceased by her sister in Japan. She is survived by her loving family: son, Hiro Hataoka; brother, Kunio (Sachiko) Hataoka of Japan; 2 nieces and 1 nephew of Japan and many cousins and relatives. Private family funeral services were held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden", with Rimban William Briones of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating. Shirley Bloom was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts. She was the oldest of four siblings and was a bright and curious child. Shirley was an excellent student and loved to read and write. She attended the local high school, she moved to California where she lived for over seventy years. She went on to earn a degree in English with teaching credentials from Long Beach State University. Shirley was passionate about education and loved working with children. She is survived by her five children, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She loved to cook for her large extended family, she was an avid reader and loved to do the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle (in pen). She was an active member of her community and volunteered her time to various causes including the League of Women Voters, the Orange County Democratic Party. She was passionate about women's issues and established scholarship funds to help young women attend Fullerton State University. She will be missed. Baltazar Salinas, Jr. , 75, sadly passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Baltazar was born June 15, 1948 in Beeville to Baltazar Salinas Sr. and Francisca Salinas. He married Jesusa Garcia in 1969 in Beeville and they spent 50 wonderful years together and they resided in Beeville. Baltazar was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church and had a career as a professional plumber. Baltazar was preceded in death by his wife, Jesusa Salinas; his parents; a daughter, Mary Salinas; and a son Jimmy Salinas. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Ronald) Baldillez and Melissa Rosas; four grandchildren, Jesse Guajardo, Roland Barrientes, Cassandra Cavazos, and Jamie Nicole Rosas Sprouse; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sophia Gonzales and Luisa Galarza. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p. m. Wednesday, December 6, at Angelus Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7 p. m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a. m. on Thursday, December 7, at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jacob Valayath and Father Pete Elizardo officiating. Burial will follow in the Berclair Cemetery in Berclair. Pallbearers will be Ronald Baldillez, Joshua Meakins, Eloy Canales, Jayden Barrientes, Erik Serrano, and Nathaniel Garza Honorary pallbearers Jessie Guajardo and Patrick Garza.Show more
