Katie Koak-White, 26, of Mishawaka, passed away unexpectedly during the early morning hours of Sunday, June 19th at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Katie was born on March 23, 1996 in Goshen, Indiana to Kevin and Connie (Nim) Koak. Katie was a manager at Pandora and also helped her family at their business, Saigon Market in South Bend. She also allowed her creative side to come out with her side project, Koak's Kollections. She enjoyed being with family and friends, but her greatest joy was being a loving mother to her two sons. Katie is survived by her sons, Elijah and Kingston White, her parents, Kevin and Connie (Nim) Koak of South Bend, her love and sons' father, Derek White of Mishawaka, her sister, Karen Koak of South Bend. Katie is also survived by her grandparents, Kim Koak, Choung Senh Nim, and Mui Lau Hong, aunts and uncles, Karina Koak of Goshen, Sy (Bo) Koak of Canyon, Texas, Louie (Guiying He) Nim, Sonny (Suzzy Chow) Nim, James (Ya Feng Huang), Mike (Shi Lan Deng) Nim, Kelly (Harry) Nim Hsiao, and Josh (Debbie Lee) Nim, all of Los Angeles, California. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 23rd, from 12:30pm until service time in Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, "Southwest Chapel" 23421 State Road 23. A service celebrating Katie's life will be held at 2:00pm. She will be laid to rest in the Sumption Prairie Cemetery of South Bend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to her children, envelops will be available at the funeral home.
