Kathy J. D'Imperio, age 46 of Clairton, passed away at home on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Born August 4, 1977 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Pat "Pasquale" and Kathleen P. (Stark) D'Imperio. Kathy was a graduate of Clairton High School, Class of 1995. Kathy was a huge Steeler fan, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends and playing yahtzee with her sister. Kathy enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with her family. Kathy was most proud of her daughter, her accomplishments, and the woman she has become. Ciara was her entire world. Kathy received an associate degree in Computer Science from CCAC, a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from Point Park, and a masters degree in Organizational Leadership from Robert Morris University. She was employed by Community College of Allegheny County, Allegheny Campus as an Employment Services Administrator for over 14 years. Kathy is survived by her daughter Ciara D'Imperio; her sisters Angela D'Imperio of Whitehall, Deborah (David) Pickford of Clairton, and Patricia (David) Booth of Whitehall; nieces and nephew Alyssa (Matt), Amanda, Justin; and great-niece and great-nephew Arianny and Ronald. Friends will be received in the A. J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton on Thursday September 15, 2023 from 4 PM to 8 PM. A funeral will be at A. J. Bekavac Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2023 at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Clare Cemetery, Clairton. Kathy will be truly missed by all that knew her.

Hugh B. "Huey" Scurfield, age 93 of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 in Grandview Estates, Elizabeth Twp. . Born October 31, 1929 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Elmer B. and Margaret (Donnelly) Scurfield. Huey was the last of the Scurfield brothers, being also preceded in death by his brothers Elmer "Bus," Thomas "Top," James, and Joseph Scurfield. Huey was a retired electrician for US Steel, Clairton Works and also worked at the former Cross Ford, Clairton. He was a parishioner of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish - St. Clare of Assisi Church, Clairton. Huey is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ruth Mae (Curry) Scurfield; his daughters Carol A. (the late Lemuel) Goodrum and Deborah L. (Jay) Jerome, both of Elizabeth; his four grandchildren: Tanya Mock, Kristie (Ryan) Goodrum-Powell, Jennifer (Adam) Cavalier, and Justin (Alexandra) Jerone; his eight great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Logan, Jaiden, Morgan, Domenic, Amelia, Jessie, and Josephina; and also nieces and nephews. John J. Sharpeta, 77, of Eighty Four, PA. died peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023 in the presence of his nephew, Damon Jones and his wife Niccole. A former Clairton resident, John was the son of the late John S. and Sophia A. (Wozniak) Sharpeta and was also preceeded in death by his brother Eugene Sherpeta. John was a disabled US Army Veteran, receiving the Purple Heart for wounds suffered while on duty as an M. P. in Korea. John was a avid reader and outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed taking care of his own home and grounds. He was a car salesman for 42 years at different dealerships, most recently Bowser and retired after 22 years from Rohrich Cadillac in Pittsburgh. He loved poker nights with his friends and was an avid hunter and golfer and always looked forward to hole 19 with his friends.
