Kathlyn June Boykin was born on September 9, 1948, in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Leonard Gordon Simmons, Jr. and Sarah Elvina (Riley) Simmons and passed away on September 9, 2023, in Lindsay, Oklahoma on her 75th birthday. Kathlyn was a lifetime resident of Lindsay. She graduated Lindsay High School and went to college where she received a bachelor's degree in special education. She was a teacher for both Purcell and Dibble Public Schools. Kathlyn was a proud mother, but her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Kathlyn could often be found at sporting events for her children and grandchildren. In 2000, Kathlyn married Don Boykin at the Noble Assembly of God. After she and Don married Kathlyn enjoyed "glamping". Kathlyn was the vice-president of the softball association and an avid OU football fan. Kathlyn was a member of the Erin Springs Church of God. She loved her church and teaching Sunday School. Kathlyn had a servant's heart and will be missed dearly. Survived by her husband, Don Boykin of Lindsay, Oklahoma; her mother, Sarah Elvina Simmons, of Lindsay, Oklahoma; sons: Casey Coles of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Michael Coles and Sonya of Washington, Oklahoma, and Brent Boykin and Sonya of Georgia; daughters: Jennifer Coles of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Angela Cole and Chris of Foster, Oklahoma, and Amy Hatchett and Greg of Lindsay, Oklahoma; brother, David Simmons and Linda of Lindsay, Oklahoma; sisters: Brenda McKee of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Shirley Shamblin and Jamie of Vian, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: her father, Leonard Gordon Simmons; niece, Julie Ann McKee; nephew, Kevin Kenneth McKee; and brother-in-law, Kenneth George McKee. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Erin Springs Church of God with Bro. Doug Brothers and Bro. Greg Hatchett officiating. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Mary Katherine (Thomas) Stubblefield passed peacefully from this life Wednesday, October 18, at the age of 93. She was born January 10, 1930 at Bokoshe, OK to William and Laura (Wiles) Thomas. Mary attended school in Buck Creek, OK. She graduated from the eighth grade as Valedictorian of her class. As was common for that time period, Mary then worked taking care of her younger siblings and helping out on the family farm. On October 17, 1953, she married her sweetheart Richard Gordon Stubblefield in Oklahoma City. The oilfield brought the couple to Lindsay in 1955, and they made their home there together for over 51 years until Richard passed in 2007. Mary was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She loved cooking for her family, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoying coffee and tea with her friends in the neighborhood. Mary and her husband enjoyed raising their vegetable gardens each summer, and she spent countless hours canning the harvest. She also enjoyed watching The Bachelor, Wheel of Fortune, and Days of Our Lives. She loved playing Yahtzee and card games as well as putting together jigsaw puzzles. More than anything, Mary deeply loved her family and thoroughly enjoyed her time spent with them; especially spoiling her grandkids and great- grandkids. Mary is survived by one daughter, Teresa Billingsley and husband Rick of Lindsay; two sons, Richard Stubblefield and wife Tamara, also of Lindsay; Randy Stubblefield and wife Beth of Frisco, TX; six grandchildren, Marquia Scruggs and husband J. D. , Melanie Lawrence and husband Richard, all of Lindsay; Trent Stubblefield and wife Kasi of Mansfield, TX; Cody Stubblefield and wife Audrey of Tulsa, OK; Andrew Stubblefield, and Daniel Stubblefield, both of Frisco, TX. ; great-grandchildren Aleah and Aiden Scruggs, William and Jackson Lawrence, all of Lindsay; Lucas, Lindsay, Landon, and Lexi Stubblefield, all of Mansfield, TX; Benjamin, Mary Jo, Samuel, and Leah Stubblefield, all of Tulsa, OK. She is also survived by one sister Eva Sue Morgan of Poteau, OK and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents William and Laura Thomas, brothers Gerald Thomas and Calvin Thomas; sisters Bertha Boitel, Ocie Brown, Pauline Tackett, and Barbara Dolph. Serving as pallbearers are Trent Stubblefield, Cody Stubblefield, Andrew Stubblefield, Daniel Stubblefield, J. D. Scruggs, and Richard Lawrence. Serving as honorary pallbearers were her two granddaughters and 12 great-grandchildren. Services for Mary will be held Monday, October 23 at 1:00 p. m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Cottrell officiating. Burial at Greenhill Cemetery of Lindsay.
