Kathleen Smithberg Obituary

Survived by brothers, Richard J. Smithberg (Susan) and John P. Smithberg (Virginia); nieces and nephews. Kathleen graduated from Marian High School in 1959 and entered the Servite Order (Servants of Mary) in 1960. She finished her master's degree at New York State University at Potsdam, New York. She taught for forty years. Kathleen was active in NYSTA (New York State Teacher Association). She also was president of Delta Kappa Gamma for two terms. In her retirement years, Kathleen enjoyed working as a housekeeper for various Catholic parishes. She enjoyed travel, visiting friends, and entertaining. VISITATION: Wednesday, September 13 from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Thursday, September 14 at 10:30am, St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 11802 Pacific. Interment, St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. Memorials will be directed by the family.
