Kathleen Sherwood Obituary

Webster: Kathy went to her final heavenly home on September 8, 2023 after a long illness that she fought with courage and grace. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael McManus; and son, Steven T. Looney. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, George Sherwood; sons, Michael, James and William (Deborah) Looney; grandchildren, Siobhan (Michael), Chantal and Taylor; sister, Jeanne Begy several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Kathy retired from Kodak after 15 years of service, starting on the camera line and ending her career as a supervisor of 13 employees. She loved meeting new people, helping others and staying busy, so after her retirement, she worked part time at several other jobs including Home Instead, Victor Specialties and BonTon Department Store. Kathy loved to travel with her family, especially to the New England coast, going on cruises and spending time in the Adirondacks and Lake George. She also enjoyed gardening, going to the casino with her beloved sister, spending time with her grand-pup, Pete, and shopping with her 3 granddaughters. One of her greatest joys was hosting and cooking for family gatherings and holidays. The love that Kathy had for her family was immeasurable and she will be missed more than words can say. Friends may call 11:00-12:30 Saturday, Sept. 16 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, , where her Celebration of Life service will follow at 12:30 PM. The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at Webster Comfort Care Home, where she spent her final days with family and friends.
