Kathleen Ann Rolland passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the age of 78. A native of New Orleans, she was a resident of Old Jefferson for the past 32 years. She was the beloved daughter of the late Evelyn LaBarthe and John E. Rolland, Jr. Known affectionately to those who loved her as Kathy, "T," or Nanny, she will be missed always by her sisters Johnell Rolland Todaro and Lynette Rolland; brother-in-law Rene Becnel; nephews John Elliot Todaro, Drew Hymel, and Cristian Soler; nieces Xuan Pham, Gabrielle Hymel, and Dominique Becnel; and great-nieces Viviana Evelyn Todaro and Estelle Renee Hymel. She is also survived by many loving members of the Berg, Norman, Grabert, and Becnel families. Kathy will be remembered for her love of music and singing, bowling, going to the movie theater, animals, classic TV shows, and parades. Over the years, she made many friends at the Greenwalt Center and the United Cerebral Palsy Work Activity Center. She was a proud past volunteer at the Rosedale Library. Kathy enjoyed the many letters, cards, telephone calls, and gifts that she received from Iris, her pen pal of over 50 years. She looked forward to regularly receiving Holy Communion from St. Agnes Catholic Church. Kathy was rarely seen without a smile on her face, brought joy to all those she encountered, and inspired others, despite her physical and cognitive limitations due to cerebral palsy. Thanks to the support of her family and caregivers, especially Devena and Gloria Marsh, Kathy was able to remain in her home throughout her life. Friends and family members are invited to attend funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. , New Orleans, LA, on Friday April 28, 2023. Visitation will begin at noon, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm. The Jazz Men Brass Band will lead the funeral procession in a Second Line to Kathy's final resting place. Memorial contributions in Kathy's memory may be made to a charitable organization of your choosing.
