Karen Stockstill Obituary

Karen Elaine Stockstill, of Poplarville, Mississippi, passed from this life into God's presence on Monday, April 24, 2023 at the age of 75. Karen was a lifelong resident of Poplarville and served her community for over forty years as a registered nurse. She enjoyed to sew, quilt, crochet and read as well as spending time outdoors tending to her plants and fishing. She was known to be a wonderful mother, nunie and friend. She is preceded in death by her father, James Smith; stepfather, James C. Burge; mother, Mattie Burge; two daughters, Dana Jill Harvey-Lods and Cyndi Cook, her grandson Jacob Kaden Lods; and two sisters, Myra Jo Burge and Jennie Dearman. Left to forever cherish her memory are her son, Joshua Stockstill (Kelli); two daughters, Jennifer Duncan (Tony) and Pam Ruffin (Puddin); three brothers, Louis Smith, Joe Smith, and Jimmy Smith; and her grandchildren, Wyatt Duncan, Travis Ruffin, Heather Jones, Trevor Stockstill, Abigail Stockstill, Tanner Stockstill, Lylah Owen, Lucas Stockstill, Brett Milner and Cordale Helton. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Brad Ford, will be held at White Funeral Home on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Friends my visit with the family on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Poplarville City Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Ronald Alexander and assisted by Trevor Stockstill, Wyatt Duncan, Nick White, Tanner Stockstill, Billy Dearman, and Scotty Dearman serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Bannister, Hunter Averett, Jason Briggs, Kenny Mitchell, Brian Beech and Asa Lee.
