"\u0026quot;It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Karen Sonja Sherlaw. She passed peacefully in her home after suffering from a brief illness. Her generous, compassionate heart and unconditional love will be deeply missed by her family \u0026amp; friends. Predeceased by her husband, Lawrence A. Sherlaw, One of seven children, she was also predeceased by sisters; Wanda Hamel, Sandra Bostwick, Marlene Carlson and brothers; Marvin Sjostrom and Douglas Sjostrom. She leaves behind her youngest brother, Gary Sjostrom. She was a devoted mother to daughter Pamela \u0026amp; husband James Keavney, grandchildren Ryan, Jessica \u0026amp; Timothy, great-grandson Noah. She leaves behind son Larry Sherlaw \u0026amp; his family. Referred to as; Ma, Rabbit, Aunt Karen \u0026amp; Aunt Connie. . . she was a loving Aunt/Mother to ALL her many nieces and nephews, as well as their children. As a nature lover \u0026amp; gifted gardener, she shared her beautiful home with her beloved nephew Keith and his sons Tim \u0026amp; Terry Taskey through the last sixteen years. Her Swedish heritage was a tremendous source of joy to her, which she lovingly shared all of the traditions with her family. She worked as a Lab. Tech. \u0026amp; Phlebotomist for many years. She shared her abilities serving as a Hospice volunteer. Through her deep faith in Jesus, she extended grace, mercy, comfort, and compassion to everyone that she encountered. We would like to extend our gratitude to the Baystate Hospice program and their staff (at Springfield Baystate) for their compassionate support, serving her with dignity and love. Patricia E. (Murphy) Byrne, 92, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Born in Somerville, MA, daughter of the late Michael A. and Marie E. (Sullivan) Murphy, she was a 1948 graduate of Medford High School. Patricia worked as a service representative for Nynex for twenty-two years, retiring in 1988. She was a self taught artist painting with oils as well as applying her talents to create beautiful antiqued ceramic Santa's. She volunteered for many years at Storrowton Village applying her artistic talents to decorating and coordinating Yule Tide as well as running the Look Back program for local students. She was a former communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church where she was a eucharistic minister, taught confraternity of christian doctrine classes and volunteered at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Agawam. Patricia's family would like to offer a special thank you to Jewish Geriatric Services and hospice for their love and care. Her husband, Paul J. Byrne died in 2009. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Robert Murphy, Fred Murphy and a sister, Marion Murphy. She leaves five sons, Paul J. Byrne of Westfield, Michael E. Byrne of Indian Orchard, Dr. Timothy J. Byrne, MD of Harwich, Edward C. Byrne of Broad Brook, CT, Christopher P. Byrne of Longmeadow, two daughters, Maureen P. Byrne of Harrisville, RI, Margaret Brenda St. Peter of West Springfield, seventeen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Calling hours are Tuesday from 8-9:30am at Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield followed by a Mass at 9:45 at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St. , Springfield. On December 3, 2023 Frances "Cookie" Albro was reunited with family and friends in Heaven. She was a longtime resident of Agawam. She graduated from Agawam High School in 1960 and still remained close with several friends whom she graduated with. Cookie worked as an Office Manager for Superior Printing Inks for more than 25 years and then as a Bus Monitor for the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative for over 15 years before retiring in 2022. A woman of great faith, she was actively involved as a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Cookie was a board member of the Catholic Woman's Club and would always volunteer to participate in their annual Christmas Bazaar. She enjoyed creating delicious baked goods in her kitchen including cakes, candy and mountains of her special Italian cookies. Cookie loved her family and friends deeply and would gladly give everything she had to help wherever and whenever she was needed. Frances leaves her sister-in-law and friend Kathleen "Kate" Albro, her two nephews; Mike Albro and his wife Becky, and Tony Albro and his wife Jessica, and three beautiful and beloved grandchildren Jason, Nicholas, and Emma Albro. She also leaves cousins Keith and Lynn David, Bob and Deb Griffin, Linda Mariani and Butch Mariani and many other family members. Cookie was predeceased by her parents Cosmy and Clementina (Mariani) Albro, and her brothers Al, Tony and Bobby Albro. She will be missed beyond what words can describe. The family wishes to thank the staff at Baystate Medical Center and JGS Lifecare/Spectrum Hospice for their wonderful commitment to her care. Friends and family are invited to the funeral on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 9am at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 10 am. The burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday December 8, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
