Karen Lou Lee died September 7, 2023, in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years 11 months 20 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service. Karen was born on September 18, 1959, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She was a precious daughter to John and Margaret Ballard. Growing up in Oklahoma City until the eighth grade, Karen's family then moved to Dibble, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school in 1977. In 1991, Karen joined married Eli Lee, creating a loving home together within the Blanchard area. Karen possessed an artistic soul and found joy in painting. For some time, she worked diligently painting at United Design in Noble, Oklahoma. Karen embraced a new professional path as an insurance agent for State Farm. She displayed commitment and dedication during her tenure there for several years. In her leisure time, Karen sought solace by embarking on fishing excursions and delighting in the thrill of catching turtles. Additionally, nurturing her yard and singing became some of her favorite pastimes. The allure of visits to the casino brought joy into Karen's life. Moreover, she exemplified pride when it came to maintaining a clean and inviting home environment. Most importantly though, Karen had a compassionate nature and served as a caregiver for her beloved mother after the passing of her father. Throughout her life, Karen bravely faced multiple health challenges. Despite these struggles, love for her family always remained at the center of her heart. Karen cherished every precious moment she spent with her loved ones and treasured the bonds forged with them. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Ballard; her brother, John Ballard Jr. ; her sister, Brenda Sue Ballard; and her grandchildren, Dominic and Allison. Survivors include her husband, Eli Lee; her children, Tavia Toles, Tara Desrochers, Jody Staggs, Dakota Lee, Dameain Lee, Deserea Lee; her 14 grandchildren; her great grandchild; her sister, Sheila Ballard Thornton; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Karin Goller Boltz, 84 years old, of Cody, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Karin was born in Munich, Germany on February 2, 1939 to August and Rosa Goller. At the age of 17 with only a single suitcase and her violin, Karin followed in her two older sisters' footsteps and immigrated to the United States. It wasn't long before she found herself traveling across the country, and finally stopping in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Karin quickly found a job as a waitress at Perry's Cafe renting a small room above the restaurant. It was here that she met the love of her life Junior Frances (Blackie) Boltz. The two were wed on August 3, 1957 and went on to have two children, Diana and Kenton. Karin was an avid baker and sold bread and cinnamon rolls for many years. She was also an accomplished seamstress sewing clothes for both her children. Throughout it all, Karin continued to find ways to indulge her love of music. Karin played in the Powell, Wyoming orchestra for many years. She eventually took up fiddling and was a member of the Wyoming Fiddlers Association. You could find her playing at Cassie's the FVW, and in Fourth of July parade every year. When Blackie retired, the couple begin traveling extensively. Many trips were made to Boston, Massachusetts to be with their son and his growing family. Also, many trips to Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Wherever the couple went, Karin would bring her violin. Both Karin and Blackie were incredibly social people and it wasn't difficult for Karin to find others of like mind to play with her around a campfire. As well as traveling, Karin and Blackie were very active and square dancing. Karin was part of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and also music club. She loved her home and Cody, and made a good life for her family there. Karin will be remembered for her music, spirit, tenacity, and love for her family. Karin was proceeded in death by her parent, August and Rosa Goller, older sisters, Inge and Gerda, husband Blackie Boltz, and son Kenton. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Morlang, grandchildren, Jason Morlang, Whitney Marsh, Lauren Nolen, Benjamin Boltz, and Emily Boltz, as well as five great-grandchildren, and one on the way. Dianne Sue Wilson passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, in Chickasha, OK, at the age of 70. Dianne was born on September 12, 1953, in Torrance, CA to John Alvin and Donna Marie Slatten. Funeral service will be held for Dianne on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha at 1:00 p. m. The committal will be at the Alex Cemetery. Dianne Sue Wilson grew up in Torrance, California until she was 16 years old. At that time, her family moved to Verden, OK where she graduated from High School in 1971. She worked at Chickasha Laundry in the 1970s and 1980s. Dianne ran Payless Shoe Store for 11 years. She had two daughters, Shelly Renee Parish and Elisa D'Shan Daniels. Dianne married Thomas Wilson in 1992 in Wichita Falls, TX. She has lived in Chickasha, OK most of her life. Dianne loved decorating her home and taking care of her yard. She also loved taking care of her husband and everyone else. She loved going to Hobby Lobby and going to her cabin in the summer in Broken Bow, OK. She enjoyed camping with her kids when they were young and spending time with her family. Dianne loved Christmas. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandkids. She loved to live life and care for her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Alvin and Donna Marie Slatten; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Johnny Leonard Wilson and Frances Wilson; siblings, Mary, Kaylene, Charles, Ted, and John; brothers-in-law, John DeWayne Wilson, Phillip Wilson; granddaughter, Brylee D'Shan Daniels. Julia Rosetta "Rosie" (Pool) Brooks, 85, of Blanchard, died Monday, November 27, 2023, in Chickasha. The daughter of Hugh N. Pool and Irene (Martin) Pool, she was born in Dibble on August 21, 1938. Rosie graduated from Blanchard High School in 1956 and went to work at Right Way Cafe as a waitress. There she met Sedall Brooks and they married on November 30, 1957. They were married for 64 years at his passing in July of 2022. Rosie went to work for the IRS and worked as a Branch Chief. She retired after 30 years of service at the age of 55. After that retirement, she worked for 10 plus years at Blanchard Drug and Gift. Rosie loved singing, especially at her church, Crossroad to Life Baptist Church. She also enjoyed her regular Friday Hair Salon appointments, going to get her nails done, and wearing her big rings and earrings from her huge collection of jewelry. She loved spending time with her family. Rosie made it a point to go to all of her kids, grandkids and even her friends' grandkids sporting events. She also enjoyed watching all OU sporting events. Her grandchildren say she was the "best back tickler. " Rosie was a good cook but was best known for her fried pies and the world's best chocolate gravy. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Sedall Brooks; one great grandson, Case Houston Smith; two sisters, Ruth "PeeWee" Peters and Joyce Ann Hoover; and three brothers, Bob, Gene, and Harold Pool. Rosetta is survived by her son, Stephen Keith Brooks and wife, Maria Cristina of Blanchard; two daughters, Bonita Renee Brooks of Blanchard and Lisa Irene Turner and husband Danny of Chickasha; six grandchildren, Michael Deason, Jr. and wife Breanna, Braxdan Sedall Turner and wife Kealey, Caitlin Julilane Smith and husband Carson, Manuela Puerto, Pablo Angulo, and Sara Angulo; ten great grandchildren, Madison, Abigail, Parker, Tucker, Paisley, Maddax, Saylor, Kennedy, Bryson Sedall, and Tyson; one great-great grandchild, Hudson; one brother, Billy Pool of Blanchard; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends. "Betty Jean Stanford, 88, former resident of Sulphur, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Betty was born on March 14, 1935 in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma to James Allie and Mary Beatrice (Moore) Webb. She grew up in the Sulphur area all of her life; working as a care giver and nurses' aide. Betty married Cecil Harold Covert on April 24, 1950; he preceded her in death. Betty got remarried on September 15, 1959 to Bennett Andrew Stanford and the two were married until his passing on December 21, 2015. She was a member of the Oak Grove Church. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Webb; husbands, Cecil Harold Covert and Bennett Andrew Stanford; siblings, Margie Eldred, Billy Joe Webb, T. J. Webb, Kenneth Webb and Ann Marie Brown. A funeral service for Orlin Patricia Akins, 86, of Chickasha will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Blankenship officiating and Jim Talbert assisting. Orlin Patricia (Brown) Akins was born August 25, 1937 in San Franciso, California to Oliver Paul Brown and Orlin Melinda (Tappin) Brown. She passed from this life on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in Chickasha, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family. Orlin was raised in Hopland, California where she attended local schools. She married Charles Edward Akins on December 21, 1953 in Hopland, California. Shortly after marriage, they moved to Yukon, Oklahoma where they managed the Superior feed and chicken farm. They later moved to Laverty for a short time before settling in Chickasha, where they raised their two children, Wayne and Kathy Akins. Orlin was a homemaker and cared deeply for her family. Charles and Orlin made their family homestead on a 160-acre ranch close to Lake Burtschi where they raised cattle and held family camping events. Some of her fondest memories were having horses and bottle-feeding her calves. Orlin was an amazing cook, and a very skilled seamstress. She sewed homemade clothing for her children and passed on to her grandchildren all her homemaking skills. She was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ in Chickasha. Later in life, she was a volunteer at the Southern Oaks Food & Clothing Room, and loved on all the people who came through. She loved to travel the countryside and take cruises but she especially enjoyed her trip to Europe and Canada to visit her family. She loved her daily coffee, crispy bacon, and The Price Is Right television show. Orlin was known for giving pajamas to her grandchildren and great grandchildren for holiday gifts especially at Christmas. Most of all she loved her family with all her heart and lived for moments when she could babysit her grandchildren and teach them the foundations of life. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward Akins on October 26, 1995; both parents; brother and sister-in-law Sonny and Nola Brown; brother Jim Brown; brothers-in-law Anthony Luchetti and Bill McCarn. Lee and Ethel Akins and the eleven Akins siblings and their spouses. Loved ones left to remember Orlin are her children, Wayne and Andrea Akins of Del Norte, Colorado; Doug and Kathy Plummer of Chickasha; sister Rose Lucchetti and Duke Waters of Hopland, California; Topsy McCarn of Hopland, California; brother and sister-in-law Dan and Ramona Brown of Ukiah, California; grandchildren and spouses, Jennifer and Andrew Troub of Chickasha; Jessica and Gary Williams of Chickasha; Cheyanna and Scott Teague of Owasso; great-grandchildren, Nathan Troub, Emma Williams, Samuel Troub, Elijah Teague, Rachel Troub, Lillian Teague, Easton Williams, Ezekiel Teague, and Micah Teague; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
