STILLWATER - Karen A. (Marocco) Cavotta, 80, passed away Friday, October 6th, after a brief illness. Born in Troy, NY, January 19, 1943, daughter of the late Arthur and Katherine O'Brien Marocco. Karen was a 1960 graduate of Catholic Central High School of Troy and was a lifelong resident of Mechanicville. Her life centered around raising her 5 children and spending time with them and her 14 grandchildren. She always celebrated her family and faith and especially loved her favorite holiday, Christmas. She loved decorating her home, giving presents to everyone, and preparing a feast for all to enjoy. After all, had gone to college, Karen became a certified home health aide, and assisted many elderly or infirmed persons, who needed that special care Karen was known to offer to those she loved. She enjoyed flower gardening and sprucing her beloved new country home, for the past 22 years. She was an avid reader, master speller, daily crossword solver, played online scrabble with much success, and years ago loved playing golf with her twin sister, Kassie. Karen was communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church where she served as a lector and taught church school for years. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of almost 60 years, Anthony "Duke" Cavotta, whom she married Nov. 16, 1963. Faithful Children: Anthony (Leslie) Cavotta of CA. , Christine (Phil) Lane of Rochester NY, David (Marilou) Cavotta of Michigan, Ann (Stephen) Miller of GA and James (Claudia) Cavotta of Cazenovia, NY. Adored grandchildren she cherished: Brittany (Bryson), Chrissy (Brad); Philip (Grace), Matt (Grace), Samantha, Audrey, Tony, Liam, Kathleen, Aiden, Anna, Jonathan, Ryan, Alivia and great granddaughter Violet. Also, her brother, Arthur (Nancy) Marocco of Florida, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her twin sister, Kathleen (John) DeVito, sister Ann (Sal) Russo, nephews Paul and Vincent Russo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct 10th at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St, Mechanicville, with burial to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery. A Church Visitation will precede the Mass from 10AM till Noon. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to All Saints on the Hudson Church, in loving memory of Karen A. Cavotta.
