STILLWATER - Karen A. (Marocco) Cavotta, 80, passed away Friday, October 6th, after a brief illness. Born in Troy, NY, January 19, 1943, daughter of the late Arthur and Katherine O'Brien Marocco. Karen was a 1960 graduate of Catholic Central High School of Troy and was a lifelong resident of Mechanicville. Her life centered around raising her 5 children and spending time with them and her 14 grandchildren. She always celebrated her family and faith and especially loved her favorite holiday, Christmas. She loved decorating her home, giving presents to everyone, and preparing a feast for all to enjoy. After all, had gone to college, Karen became a certified home health aide, and assisted many elderly or infirmed persons, who needed that special care Karen was known to offer to those she loved. She enjoyed flower gardening and sprucing her beloved new country home, for the past 22 years. She was an avid reader, master speller, daily crossword solver, played online scrabble with much success, and years ago loved playing golf with her twin sister, Kassie. Karen was communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church where she served as a lector and taught church school for years. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of almost 60 years, Anthony "Duke" Cavotta, whom she married Nov. 16, 1963. Faithful Children: Anthony (Leslie) Cavotta of CA. , Christine (Phil) Lane of Rochester NY, David (Marilou) Cavotta of Michigan, Ann (Stephen) Miller of GA and James (Claudia) Cavotta of Cazenovia, NY. Adored grandchildren she cherished: Brittany (Bryson), Chrissy (Brad); Philip (Grace), Matt (Grace), Samantha, Audrey, Tony, Liam, Kathleen, Aiden, Anna, Jonathan, Ryan, Alivia and great granddaughter Violet. Also, her brother, Arthur (Nancy) Marocco of Florida, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her twin sister, Kathleen (John) DeVito, sister Ann (Sal) Russo, nephews Paul and Vincent Russo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct 10th at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St, Mechanicville, with burial to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery. A Church Visitation will precede the Mass from 10AM till Noon. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to All Saints on the Hudson Church, in loving memory of Karen A. Cavotta.

Mechanicville - Joseph Sorriento, 84, passed away in the comfort of his home on Thursday, December 7, 2023 following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born July 25, 1939 in Cervinara, Italy, he was the son of the late Francesco Sorriento and Luigia Battuello Sorriento. Joseph was 9 years old when he immigrated to the United States in 1948 with his two sisters, Gemma and Maria. He settled in St. Francis Parish (IDA Hill) and attended St. Francis church. He attended School 14, Troy High School, Hudson Valley Community College receiving his AAS Degree, Bridgeport Engineering Inst. receiving his BSEE degree, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute receiving his M. S. Degree. He was also proud to be a U. S. Marine. Joseph was an avid sports fan. He coached soccer in the "Under 16" teams in this area and the freshmen team at LaSalle Institute. His greatest moment in sports was when Italy won the World Cup of Soccer in 1982 & 2006 and in hockey when the NY Rangers won the Stanley Cup in 1994. He was a member of the LaCervo Soccer Team and Master of Ceremony for the many championship parties of the LaCervo Soccer Team. He married his high school sweetheart Rita Hayden Sorriento in 1958, and together they were married for 65 years. He was a devoted family man who was proud of his Italian heritage. He worked at Sikorsky Aircraft as a JR. Eng. in the Research & Development department. In 1967 he started teaching at Hudson Valley Community College in the ELT Department and later taught in the ECM department. He retired from HVCC as an Associate Professor after 30 years. He loved family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve, where he loved music, singing, laughing, and storytelling. We would always end the night by singing "My Way". He loved traveling to Florida and spending the winters there. He loved going to Saratoga Race Track in the summer and traveling to Italy to visit his birthplace several times. Joseph was predeceased by his parents and by his brothers; John Sorriento, Rocky Sorriento, and Tony Sorriento. He is survived by his wife Rita Hayden Sorriento, his children; William Sorriento, Carol (Mike) Sheeran, Yolanda Reilly (Rich Davis), Mary Dobert, and Vincent (Caitlin) Sorriento, his 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, his brother Carlo (Arlene) Sorriento and his sisters, Gemma Pezulich and Maria Wickware. Joseph's family would like to extend special thanks to Community Hospice and Doctor Molho for their care, support, and guidance. A visitation will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, Watervliet. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2023, 8:30 AM from the funeral home, 9:30 AM at the Shrine Church of St. Anthony of Padua, Troy, with entombment following the service in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Troy. MECHANICVILLE - Richard J. "Rick" Noblett, 44, of Brickyard Rd, passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2023. Born in Colorado on December 14, 1978, he was the son of Air Force veterans, Dianne Petronis Noblett and the late John "Gregg" Noblett. A 1997 Mechanicville High School and later HVCC graduate, Rick was a talented bowler. He was also a great youth baseball pitcher with a unique delivery that stymied most of the batters he faced. Starting in his childhood, Rick was an avid reader, something that he carried on throughout his adult life. He loved animals, whether it was his family dogs and cats, wild birds, or anything else for that matter. He also had quite a green thumb, enthusiastically helping with the family garden. Rick and his brother were proud Boy Scouts growing up, with their father being active as their Scout Leader. Rick was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan. Recently, Rick started working for Adirondack Hemp Company, where he was responsible for many jobs throughout the day. This was a job he really enjoyed since starting there about a year ago. He had also worked for other local companies in various retail positions over the years. Survivors in addition to his mother, Dianne, include his brother, Rob W. Noblett, partner and best friend over the past 5 years, Travis Allen, aunts Kimberly Petronis and Paula Volpe, and her family. He will be deeply missed by his cousins, friends and co-workers. STILLWATER - Jacqueline May Wolff, 88, of County Route 76, died peacefully in the comfort of her home on November 10, 2023, with her loving family at her side. Born in Mechanicville on May 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Luella Mills Bardwell. Jackie graduated from Liberty High School and worked there for several years before moving back north to Stillwater. In Liberty, she was a receptionist for the medical office of Dr. Stamm and continued that career when she moved to Stillwater, working for the office of Dr. Behringer in Mechanicville for over 30 years. Jackie loved spending time with her grand children and working in her many flower gardens. Jackie was also very crafty person having exceptional rug hooking skills and a talented wool spinner. Her projects usually included designing rugs and clothing, most of which were "sheep to shawl". She was also an active volunteer in the local 4H programs. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Albert J. Wolff, whom she married on November 3, 1956, son Jeffrey Wolff of Schaghticoke, daughters Lorie(Rick) King and Christine(Michael) Strazzi, both of Stillwater, grandchildren Cortney Wolff, Logan(Carolina) King, Lindsey, Ashley and Jared Strazzi, great grandson Parker Ragone, her brother William(Teri) Bardwell, brother in law George(Ann) Wolff, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Harolynn Beach and Donald Bardwell, sisters in law Jean Wolff and Kathryn Luskin Guilianelli, brother in law Bernard Luskin, and nephew David Wolff. MECHANICVILLE - Patricia Jean Morrison, 82, of Micklas St. , died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on Saturday, November 4, 2023, after a brief illness. Born in Troy on April 6, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Elizabeth Smith Patenaude and wife of the late Richard " Dick" Morrison. A 1959 graduate of Mechanicville High School, Patricia worked in the evidence receiving unit of the NY State Police barracks in Albany for 27 years, retiring in 2001. During her career, she received several commendations for her work ethic, and was recognized for never calling in sick once. Pat enjoyed writing poetry and had a very artistic and creative mind. She was a doting grandmother who enjoyed time spent with her large, extended family. She was also an active member of All Saints on the Hudson Church and volunteered her time decorating the church during the holidays. In addition to her parents and late husband Dick, she was predeceased by her son, Daniel O'Keefe; stepmother, Rose Hoffman (Everts) Patenaude; siblings Edward, Kenneth (Deni), Richard, Robert, James (Carol), Harold "Sonny" Patenaude, Norma Vickery (Ed), Betty Whalen, sister-in-law Betty Patenaude, Milfred and David (Marjorie) Everts, and her first husband, Robert O'Keefe Sr. Survivors include her children Robert (Carrie) O'Keefe Jr, of Seattle, WA, Patrick "Packy" (Dima) O'Keefe of Hoboken, NJ, and Kim O'Keefe (Victor Irizarry) of Altamonte Springs, FL; grandchildren Graham, Casey, Nina, and Nicholas; siblings William (Beverly) Patenaude, George Patenaude, Charles (Patty) Patenaude, and Henry (Marion) Everts; sisters-in-law Helga, Shirley, and JoAnn Patenaude; along with many nieces, nephews, and their families. Born in Halfmoon, daughter of the late Lawrence and Assunita Fragassi Lucarelli, she was the widow of Salvadore Ricciardone, who died in 2018. A homemaker most of her life, Anna had worked for the Korell Dress Co years ago. She was an avid bowler and member of the women's and mixed bowling leagues. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and tending to her garden. In addition to her husband Sal, she was predeceased by her siblings Ida Luciano, Mary Deets, Angie Gelina, Suzie Wallace, and Gino and Lawrence Luccarelli. GANSEVOORT - Marc L. Luther, 61, of Northern Pines Road, was received into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ unexpectedly on Sunday November 5th. Born in Troy, January 31, 1962, son of the late Edgar "Bud" and Sylvia Luther, Marc was a 1981 graduate of Stillwater Central School, where he played football and baseball and excelled as a hard-throwing lefty. For 36 years, Marc worked with the US Postal Service, serving several years in Mechanicville before moving on to Amsterdam, Glens Falls and Albany. A very talented man, Marc had a beautiful tenor voice, singing at weddings and funerals, and was also a member of the Dorothy Welch Choir and the Uncle Sam Barbershop Quartet, and cherished his time participating in the Everlasting Lights in Greenwich. He also enjoyed listening to all genres of music. He had a great love of the outdoors, was a fisherman most of his life, enjoyed gardening and was an avid bird watcher. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox baseball fan and Kansas City Chiefs football fan and recently attended a winning Chiefs game. Above all, Marc was a family man, who loved being with his family and friends, and found joy in his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Sharlene Yager Luther, proud sons Loren and Alexander Luther, both of Wilton, his siblings David (Karen) Luther of Stillwater, Michele (James) Richards of No. Topsail Beach, N. C. , Lisa (Tom) Riley of Holly Ridge, N. C. and Rebecca (Morris Jr. ) Patenaude of Stillwater, his Uncle Joe Merluzzo of Stillwater, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, Marc was predeceased by his brother Keith Luther. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11th at Noon at Hoosic Valley Community Church, Rte 40, Schaghticoke. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 10AM until services at Noon. MALTA - Paul R. Parker, Sr, 80, of Dino Dr, died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on November 5, 2023, after a brief illness. Born on July 9, 1943 son of Raymond and Grace Purcell Parker, he was born and raised as a member of the Village of Round Lake. A 1961 graduate of Shenendehowa Central School, Paul also attended Albany Business College. He was a manager for Metropolitan Insurance Co, Albany for several years. He then, alongside his wife Lucille, owned and operated Northway Travel Trailers in Malta until their retirement. Paul was a former member and past president of the Round Lake Fire Company. He was also an avid sports fan but especially loved watching his beloved Boston Celtics with his grandson, and roommate, Austin by his side. He was also honored to drive Bus for the Ballston Spa School District and enjoyed working with friends at the Saratoga Raceway in retirement. He was also an active volunteer and usher at Corpus Christi Church. Paul was predeceased by the love of his life, wife of 56 years, Lucille DeMarco Parker, in August 2022. Survivors include his sons Paul (Christine) Parker Jr of Malta, and David (Ann) Parker of Columbus, OH, grandchildren Austin Parker (Megan Miller) and Sarrah Parker, sister Nancy(Jon) Meager, nieces Laura Caton and Katie Meager, and nephew Greg Peluso. MECHANICVILLE - Joanna W. Zennaiter, 85, died peacefully at Wesley Health Care Center on November 3, 2023, after a long illness. Born in Mechanicville on October 16, 1938, daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Blizzard Zennaiter, she was a 1957 graduate of Mechanicville High School. Joanna worked for the NYS Child Welfare and Development Center, Albany, for 35 years, retiring in 1996. She had also worked in the World Trade Center for 5 years. Joanna loved to travel, visiting treasures in Europe, Africa, and a multitude of places here in the United States. An avid golfer, she was a former member of the Edison Club in Rexford for many years. An active member of the All Saints on the Hudson parish, she was a lector at St. Peter's Church for nearly 25 years and a member of its Rosary Altar Society. She is survived by her sister, best friend and caregiver over the past 17 years, Carmen Esposito, brother Joseph Zannaiter, beloved nieces Dorothy(Matt) Sheehan and Carrie(Michael) Smith, great niece Zoe Frances Sheehan, and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her great niece, Isabella Sophia Sheehan, and her brother Anthony Zennaiter.
